Russ, I'm in your age range. Grew up in NYC and remember enjoying root beer floats at Woolworths or McCrory's (Bklyn). They had those old fashioned soda drafts.
@@B_Rye15 Loved Woolworth's as a kid. Hot Dogs, fountain sodas, chocolate milk, and root beer floats. Sadly, McCrorys was already out of business in my area by the time I was aware of it. Perhaps root beer floats are more regional? I'm originally from NJ and remember when Wendy's sold them for a while probably 15 years ago.
@@russellborrego1689 Oh yes, you're right re Wendy's. 😁 I was always under the impression that it's regional later to find out it appears in the Midwest as well. So it's well-traveled I guess. Before my time you could even get a float at some mom-n-pop pharmacies on the Lower East Side or The Village.

This guy used to drink rootbeer floats regularly as a kid. We used to make them in my house all the time. Love them still. Rootbeer is my soda of choice cause no caffeine.
