A lot of blk people have no idea. All you hear is stop weave and go natural but this is so heartbreaking for some who suffer from alopecia. Hair is spare so detrimental, and there’s no real cure. 🙏🏽Much love for alopecia sufferers.

    • @TashaHughes
      @TashaHughes Рік тому

I was happy that Jada Pinkett tried to bring awareness to alopecia. They even attacked her and said she was lying. If you don’t want people to know you have alopecia it’s hard work hiding it and a whodini act to keep people from knowing. Like she said, people are cruel and nasty when some people find out or not really know/understand what they’re going through ignorant people make jokes. I feel for alopecia sufferers. I know kids, even boys that suffer from alopecia as well. It is so hard on the mental health being an alopecia sufferer. 🙏🏽❤
I hope one day they find a cure.

2 years ago I decided to start getting braids at the age of 63, that entire year i got braids 3 times. I have never had so much hair loss as I did that year. I immediately stopped, got a big chop and began moisturizing my hair and growing it back in. no more braids for me. They snatched my follicles out. Looking at what is causing is the first step. It really hurt and i hate myself for not having edges ... Mostof them don't understand how hurtful it is, i can't even make any hairstyle i wish and it make me sad, they don't even remember i didn't create myself😞

Beauti Paschen you have an awesome attitude. My mother cried when she had lost her hair, but she's no longer here. I wanted to help her so bad but she enjoyed my sister hairstyles. My sister use to pull the tracks off of my mother's scalp and it ripped off her hair. I think that she was mad with my mother. First I permed my hair after being natural for 10 years added some drop curls and and some edges and filling in the middle I cried 😭 and decided I would date myself. I love you and thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will get the right products in the morning. 54 next week and feeling 30 thanks to you!!!!! 👍👍👍The battle is real.

The dr told me, I have recessive alopecia.
One of the thing he asked me was if I tight or braid my hair. If I pulled my hair back. I said yes. Dr told me to stop. Because I was causing the hair to recede to the back destroying the cuticle. So I cut my hair and stop pulling my hair..a lot of my hair grew not as before but the empty spaces in the edges are less.

I'm 50 now and I've proudly worn my hair in styles that revealed my sides. 85% of the time I have been confident in my appearance. Sometimes I didn't feel so secure in the company of others. My feelings aren't hurt by what people think of my edges. I'm literally just realizing I have alopecia. I just thought it was connected to nerves and my childhood tragedies. I repressed the memories but would gravitate towards twisting my sides during class. That's when my hair starting falling out. Then chemicals started being used and they never grew back.

Glad you put "EX" in front of boyfriend - that is verbal, mental and emotional abuse. Definite "Loser" behavior. When people who are supposed to love you act this way - family or otherwise, it is really terrible because it is a violation of trust within your relationship. I know you're much happier and have more peace in your life without Mr. "L"!😂
This was actually a genius idea you came up with to deal with your hair edges!!!😁👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
It took a lot of courage and self acceptance to embrace that part of yourself and it took selflessness to
put a public face to it and help so MANY people!
I personally watched for a close friend who has alopecia pretty badly. I am so excited to share it with her today and also with my Sister who is prematurely gray around her edges. Shoot, I think it might work for her too!!!👌🏽☺️☺️☺️
Thank you very much and best wishes in everything you do! You are a beautiful person inside and out!💜

You are a sweetheart for being transparent and exposing your sensitive/weak points. As for those who use that to hurt you . . . I would ghost them. You are gorgeous inside out. Each one teach one.
I generally look to my nutrition for problems because family similarities can sometimes come from learned behaviors (i.e., diet). I have a natural/bed-head hair style and my problem was in the crown/top of my head. The females in my family with hair loss issues had nervous conditions. I found my hair loss was due nutritional deficiencies and stress.
I changed my nutrition and used natural herbs and vitamins and my hair grew back. My daughter had the same problem and used the same solution (nutrition and herbs) and her hair grew back too. My sister has alopecia but uses wigs.
    I just love your spirit.

I had an Aunt who lost her edges, along with much of the hair on top of her head. It's hereditary, in our family gene makeup. Some of us get it, some of us don't. She however got it the worst. What she did though took a lot of courage because she just shaved her whole head and went bald. She said no matter what, you have to learn to embrace YOU no matter what you look like in the eyes of others because confidence in who you are will make also the all the difference. And she was right because she looks gorgeous! Absolutely beautiful in fact. (Though she does have the perfect head shape for it.) My sister, you are absolutely beautiful NO MATTER what. And that ex of yours, or anyone else for that matter, who faults you for something you can't control must be some extremely weak individuals! Be glad to be rid of him/them. God Bless, much respect, and many blessings to you! Embrace YOU!!!!

I'm caucasian, have some thin spots around my hairline. And I just use some dark brown eye shadow to fill in the areas. Makes the hair look thicker and disguises the thin spots. 👍

Thank you soo much for this video! I suffer with alopecia, which started at age 10, now 50 years old. For the past 6 months, I've received treatments by needle to temple and frontal areas. Mentally and physically painful to endure every 4-6 weeks. I have spent hundreds of dollars on haircare products, from organic to prescribed medications, that didn't work. I just purchased your used products as my last attempt to cover up my condition. Crossing fingers!
