My wife & I signed up for the 3 day class Mrs. Ortega held in Dallas, TX a couple weekends ago. We also signed up to take the CPC exam the day after the course. Now before I go on, understand that we both have no knowledge of Medical Coding prior to taking the class. My wife & I were both US Air Force & our occupations were logistics for many years. Even after our enlistments were up, I went on to continue working in the Supply Chain/Warehouse environment & my wife went on to become a Medical Assistant. Again, no experience whatsoever in Medical Coding. So after we signed up for everything & received our 3 ginormous books, she sent us a thick little packet of work to do prior to attending the class. DO THE WORK!!! Some of the things you'll be writing down & whiting out will not make ANY sense to you, but it will. Just do it because you're not going to have time to do it in class & you're going to need every single thing you wrote down so that you'll be able to access & utilize your books to their full potential on the day of the exam. The class is fast paced & her tabbing system is incredible. Her process is light years ahead of the traditional schooling process & she's squeezing 10 months of a class/lesson into 3 days. That's intelligence people. She clearly knows her stuff. She genuinely cares about her students & she LOVES sharing all of her information with them. She wants you to know what she knows & you can actually feel that from her. She's an amazing woman to fly from city to city doing what she does & she's extremely grateful & humble; but understand that she won't be as angelic & nice during class as she is in her videos. But she HAS to be that way because she doesn't have a lot of time to give you all of the information you need to pass that monster of a board exam. Again she's squeezing a 10 month class into 3 days. You paid her your money & invested your time in her so she's going to give you exactly what you came for. It's not to be taken lightly. It's physically & mentally tough & it is NOT a vacation. Do the pre work, do the homework. No matter how tired you are get it done because you're going to need it. As she would say, "It's a short term pain for a long term gain." And as far as the exam went, my wife & I passed on our first try. We're actually going back for our COC the next time Mrs. Ortega comes back to Dallas. Thank you for everything Mrs. Ortega. You just brought us one step closer to our dream.

Several months ago I came across Medical Coding Academy while taking a medical billing and coding course. I was looking to further my education with AAPC or AHIMA and searching for a school that would prepare me well for medical coding. I had no idea how well Mrs Ortega and Medical Coding Academy would prepare me. I watched all of her videos and read many student's testimonies. I could not wait to get started and I am even more grateful now that I took this class and even more motivated to continue my education. By the way, I have no experience coding on the job, just took Mrs. Ortega's 3 day course, took the CPC exam the following day and passed it on my first try. I could not be more excited!!!The way Mrs. Ortega has designed and organized this course is absolutely amazing. I have never had a teacher pour so much of themselves into a course with so much passion, motivation and true concern for her students as Mrs. Ortega. She has a tabbing system and homework to do before the course begins to get you prepared. The classes are three days from 8:00am to after 7:00pm with homework to do after classes totaling about 16 hours of work a day. You will learn much more in this period of time than you can even imagine. It is truly "short term pain for long term gain." I learned much more in three days than I did in many courses I've taken in college. She will give you so many tools, techniques and knowledge to pass the CPC exam (which is a real beast of an exam). If you have ever attempted to take the boards and failed, do not look any further, you will feel confident going in to your exam after taking this course, if you do all the work that Mrs. Ortega gives you and follow all of her instructions. Mrs. Ortega gives more of herself for her students than any teacher I've ever had. She works for you without ever leaving the classroom or taking any breaks. She even works to help her students during break times. During the three days of class, her top priority is each and every one of her students. There are people with on the job experience who have failed the exam 10, 11, 12 times, and then passed on there first try after taking Mrs. Ortega's class. I am so grateful for this experience and for meeting such a wonderful teacher and person. If you are looking to pass your certification exam and open doors for yourself and those you care about, then don't hesitate to further your education through Medical Coding Academy

I just finished taking the 3 day CPC course in Orlando and I must say I am so glad I did!!! Mrs. Ortega is a beast!! She knows her stuff in and out! She is AWESOME!!!! She is truly an angel and it was an honor being her student. She had me from the beginning due to her passion for God!! She truly loves her students and you can tell in her passion in teaching us. The class is intense so please don't go into it thinking it's like another college course b/c it is FAR from it. You are working and learning NON-STOP from the moment you step foot in that classroom and yes you will have homework EVERY evening. So please do not go into this thinking you will also make a mini vacation out of it b/c it's far from a vacation. I left her classroom feeling very confident that I will pass my exam my first attempt! I will be signing up for the next course COC as I plan on being certified in that as well by the end of the year---matter of fact I will be taking all of Mrs. Ortega's classes that she offers for the remaining certifications. Trust me-TAKE HER COURSE---you will be so glad you did!!! Thank you Mrs. Ortega you are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mrs. Ortega is truly a kind caring human being. She is the best instructor and she cares about your education. She cares!!!! She is an amazing instructor, I can't say that enough about her. For those of you having doubts trust me when I say there is no need. I just wrapped up the 3 day course and I took my exam today. I finished early and I have a good feeling about the test! I have mrs. Ortega to thank for that! The class had tons of information. People sign up for this class. She teaches you relevant information guaranteed to make you pass the test. Her tips and strategies to beat the clock are amazing. Take the class please please I beg you do not waste your precious time and hard earned money on those other programs. It's 3 days and you are done. Just take the test after. Once you sign up for the class, you will receive the pre-work. Please give yourself time as it is a lot of work to complete. It's a lot but it's worth it. Short term pain for a long term gain :). Mrs Ortega, Patricia and everyone else who helped thank you!!!

PASSED CPC Exam on 1st TRYThis course is a must take!!! Medical Coding Academy has a great instructor Mrs. Ortega she is an ANGEL! She covers everything needed and more for the board exam! She is the real deal! She is very prepared to give you her all and teach her heart out! I believe she teaches us everything she absolutely knows and doesn't leave anything out! She is so selfless, I admire and respect that about her. Not once am did she step out to even use the restroom, to answer any questions the students may have. (Please show her respect she cares for your success ) I highly recommend to do ALL of your PRE WORK before the course. Don't wait the last minute it must be done on time. Put in what you want out of it. (#1 advice of gold) ...
Give her the full 3 days with your whole undivided attention! Don't give up! You will make it through! (#2 advice of gold)
Take the exam the day after the course! When sitting for the exam already know you will PASS! Do not second guess yourself or get overwhelmed, never tell yourself you won't pass never! Have faith in yourself! You will have all the resources you need! Do not worry! (#3 advice of gold)

I PASSED!!! Mrs. Ortega is a phenomenal teacher. She is real and she is a gift. Her curriculum breaks down difficult medical coding guidelines into steps that by day three of her course you have an innate understanding of Medical Coding. It is astonishing. Her course is concise, efficient and very intuitive. If you are thinking about taking her course, just do it! She is strict (most great teachers are) and DO THE HOMEWORK!!!
I am so grateful I found her youtube videos! Mrs. Ortega is absolutely an answer to a prayer.

Throughout my life, I’ve had many educators, trainers, and teachers. I have never had such an amazing and empowering experience with such a kind, giving, and extraordinarily brilliant individual like Mrs. Ortega. I have never seen a teacher put forth so much of their energy, will, and dedication to their students like her. Not only is she extremely knowledgable about medical coding, but radiates a positive and approachable attitude. I recommend her 3-day “CPC" course to everybody who wants to further their careers by pursuing a medical coding certification. I am so thankful to God for giving me this opportunity to meet this wonderful woman and to be able to have been taught by her. Thank you Mrs. Ortega for all of the things you do for us!

3 weeks ago I took the 3 day Medical Coding Academy CPC training and two weeks later, I took the CPC exam and passed the first time! I have been a stay at home mother for the past 15 years taking care of my two daughters and in the hospital for the past 10 years with one of my daughter's that has a rare medical condition. Other than being in the hospital setting, I have zero medical coding experience or knowledge prior to Mrs. Ortega's CPC course. I would highly recommend taking this course or any other courses that she offers. It is a challenging 3 days and you must do the pre-work and homework , but it is so worth every minute of this training. Mrs. Ortega puts her whole heart and passion into teaching you everything she knows to pass the CPC test on the first try. I was so inspired by her wealth of knowledge and her ability to pass all of her gifts onto us. I truly feel that she was an angel that came into my life and I am so grateful that I found her.

This was the first of many videos that I watched where Mrs. Ortega sparked by interest in medical coding. I am so happy I saw these videos and I am so happy that I attended the 3 day CPC Course in Dallas last weekend. I took my test on the fourth day, which was a week from today. I just got my results 30 minutes ago and I passed!!! I passed on my first try!! I suck at taking tests so it's surprising to me that Mrs. Ortega got me walking into that exam site more confident than i have ever been. She is amazing!

I just completed the three day CPC course in Orlando and wanted to share my experience. I went to the first class with zero medical background and after only three days I am confident I can pass the exam on the first try.
Yes, it is an intense three days! But like she says, short term pain for a long term gain.
Ms. Ortega is the real deal. I truly believe there is not a better teacher out there for medical coding. Not only does she know her stuff, she also genuinely cares about her students. She has a passion for teaching and a pure and generous heart. I highly recommend her.

I just finished Mrs. Ortega's CPC class today, and I must say, I was blown away! She rocks! I Highly recommend, for all the CODERS out there, to take her classes. The way she teaches man, it was all spot on! I took a leaf of faith on her and I am very much thankful that I did. I learned a lot, I mean tons of knowledge from her course for only a short period of time. It wasn't that tough but it wasn't easy either. If I were describe her, She should be the "ICON" in Medical Coding Industry. I love her passion in this industry, I love the way she teaches, I love the way she love her students, she cares for other's future success, and she is THE BEST TEACHER that I had in my entire life. I really appreciate the time and effort she gives in to this Medical coding industry. The Real SuperWoman! I cannot wait to take my Board Exam to prove that it really doesn't matter how long your education is, what matters is that WHO gives you that education! So, Thank you so much Mrs. Ortega for coming in our City, Dubnation! I will definitely take another course with you once I get my license in CPC. May God bless your PURE HEART and your HEALTH so you can continue to Help other people in this Industry. YOU are The NEEDLE in a haystack!---LEEYO

I attended Mrs. Ortega's Medical Coding Academy class this weekend to get a solid foundation in medical coding. She is a blessing in disguise! Her teaching style is amazing. Now, just because this is a weekend course, it doesn't mean it is super easy. The class is similar to a bootcamp so you get a serious work out mentally but it is worth it! There is so much to learn and Mrs. Ortega takes time with her students, she answers your questions while teaching, she truly cares about her students and their success. I have never met an instructor who truly cares. I am scheduled to take the CPC exam in 2 weeks and I am very confident that I will pass it thanks to the hard work and determination of Mrs. Ortega. Please...if you are interested in becoming a Medical Coder, take this class. You will get the knowledge and attention you need to pass the exam. I learned so much that I am taking her COC class in November and I convinced a friend to take the CPC class as well.

I recently attended Miss Ortega's 3 day Medical Coding Academy for an education on how to become a Certified Professional Coder (CPC®). Mind you that I have never had any professional training in the medical industry and my alternative was to enroll in an expensive and time consuming university or online program. In researching those schools I came across Miss Ortega's Medical Coding Academy videos on UA-cam. After much research I attended this past weekend. Here is my review.
First, there are 3 things you need to do before attending. Watch the videos and do EVERYTHING she says, Watch the videos and do EVERYTHING she says, and finally....you guessed it...Watch the videos and do EVERYTHING she says. Second, if you do everything this lady says you will come away 100% TOTALLY prepared for your CPC exam. I know this may be hard to believe but last Thursday I had no idea how this industry works. But 30+ classroom hours later (I am not exaggerating here) I believe I am BETTER prepared than the others who spent months/year in class. She teaches both to the test and what you need to learn to be successful in the medical coding profession. Her tabbing system is genius and the test taking strategies you learn put you in a position to be confident walking into the room to take the exam.
Furthermore, this 3 day session is to work and learn. Your day is from 8am-7pm. You work 98% of the time. You use a working lunch. Breaks are 6 minutes and the lady means 6 minutes. There is homework that is another 4 hours. Some claim they did it faster, God bless em. It took me 4.
Lastly, I was impressed by the lady Miss Ortega. On top of knowing the subject material and strategies she is driven and extremely proud and passionate. Some may view her as a tough taskmaster, which she is. But if she were anything else the class would not work. Bottom line. Save your time/$ on taking classes. Pencil in 3 days where you can commit 100% of your time and mindset and right the lady a check.
PS. Obtw. A few students wanted to argue and NOT do the work ahead of time. If you are "that gal" please, PLEASE go do something else as all you do is look foolish and your demeanor detracts from others experience. Life's too short and there is too much $ on the line to act like this is 3rd period French class and the dog ate your homework.

I attended Medical Coding Academy for (CPC) Certified Professional Coder here in California with Mrs Ortega. I just got my exam test results today 10/2017. And I PASSED the first time, I am so excited!!. I have actually taken the test before and could not pass it. Mrs. Ortega was so informative with her knowledge, and beautiful person to meet. She actually cares, which is so refreshing. When I move to Arkansas in 2018. I am attending one of her classes, for my COC (Certified Outpatient Coder) there in Texas. So excited. Attend one of Mrs. Ortega classes at Medical Coding Academy, you won't regret it.

I am filled with excitement!! I just found out I passed the CPC national board exam on my first try. And that is with no previous experience in medical coding. I attended the 3 day course last week (Fri, Sat, Sun) and took the board test on Monday and passed!!! Mrs. Ortega's passion is to make sure every student gains the knowledge and pass the exam (on their 1st try) to become successful in the medical coding field. You must do the prework that is sent to you. It is time consuming but it is a must to succeed. The course is only 3 days but in those 3 days you will be given a wealth of information. Mrs. Ortega is absolutely the best! She truly cares and wants every student to suceed. I am FOREVER GRATEFUL!!

Medical Coding Academy is great. I just attend the CPC class 09/15/2017. It is the best coding class I ever attended. The knowledge Mrs Ortega has is incredible. I learned more taking her class, in 3 days then I have learned in a 6 month class paying thousands of dollars. Mrs Ortega actually cares about her students financial career future, and will do everything in her power to help her students succeed. It was truly a blessing finding Medical Coding Academy and Mrs. Ortega. I didn't want to take classes on line, because I always have questions. I like getting the answer now, instead of waiting 1 or 2 days for an answer. I am old school; I like classes with an instructor. If you truly want a great career in the medical coding industry. Attend Medical Coding Academy with Mrs Ortega, you won't regret it. Your are the best Mrs. Ortega. GOD Bless. Crystal

I recently took Mrs. Ortega’s CPC course and PASSED the test on the first try 😊. This course is amazing I went to a vocational billing and coding school and took the AAPC CPC test and failed twice. Within the first couple hours of Mrs. Ortega’s class she broke down the test in a way that I hadn’t learned before and I can not stress how great of an asset this academy is to obtaining your credentials. I took the CPC training class 9/29-10/1 and the exam 10/2. I learned today that I PASSED on my 1ST TRY and I am officially a "Certified Professional Coder!" Praise the Lord!!! I have NEVER coded and decided this year (after researching) I would take a Medical Coding class. I began my search looking at some local Universities as well as some online programs. I read many reviews and blogs where people had taken the 6, 12, & 24 month programs only to say they had not passed the exam. Many of them saying they had failed 2-3 times. That was too discouraging for me. So, I prayed and God guided me to the videos from Medical Coding Academy with Mrs. Ortega!! I watched video after video and I KNEW I had to get in her class. I told my husband there was something about her "spirit" that connected with me and he said, "Sign up." The 3 Day class is a Monster and the exam a BEAST, but IF you listen and allow Mrs. Ortega the chance to teach you, you WILL PASS!! She will teach you coding like teaching ABC's and 123's to a Kindergarten!! Her passion and knowledge is a "Gift" and those who read this will understand when I say, "She is TRULY Walking in her Calling." I have already signed up to take 4 additional classes with her "THIS YEAR!" If you want to learn Medical Coding and "Pass" your Exam then you WANT to take a class with Medical Coding Academy!!

Hello, I attended Mrs. Ortega's CPC course in Orlando. Although I'm new to the medical coding field, I feel confident that I will pass the exam which I'm scheduled to take August 26th. I compared many coding programs available in my area and I was a little hesitant of Medical Coding Academy. But while on vacation with my son in South Florida, I took a leap of faith and register for a Orlando class two weeks before the start date. I ordered my books, booked a hotel, borrowed my mother-in-law's car and drove up to Orlando.
Listen to me, if you do your pre-work, pay attention in class and do your home work. You will obtain all the information you will need to pass the exam. Mrs. Ortega is knowledgeable and funny. You can't go wrong with this program. ~ Farrah

After personal research and reviewing many of the Medical Coding Academy's UA-cam vlogs I decided to attend the most recent courses of the Medical Coding Academy (MCA) in Philadelphia, PA. Some fellow students flew in and stayed at the hotel to attend the course(s). It was excellent. Mrs. Ortega is an educator who is truly passionate about students, medical coding, and patients. She is a master of the subject of medical coding. She brings the course to life.
If you need the opportunity to start a career, add to your career or to change your career then attend MCA. The 3-day course is rigorous but you will succeed if you follow All instructions. I repeat - ALL instructions :) Then you will have the confidence of taking the next step in becoming a certified medical coder.
Very pleased that I completed the CPC, COC, and CPMA as recommended by past MCA alumni on UA-cam. I would highly recommend registering for a Dallas, TX course(s). Book an airfare and hotel room if need be.
Your are worth investing in yourself.

Not gonna lie, it's a beast! If you do everything Mrs. Ortega says to do you WILL be successful. Prework, class work and homework. I had no experience in the medical field but now I feel I can walk into any office and be successful. Thank you Mrs. Ortega for being such a gifted teacher and for caring for all of us like we were your own.

Thank you Ms Ortega! I am ready! I can't make it to Dallas but I can get to Atlanta. Did you say somewhere on your videos that it would be safe to have a flight departure time of 9pm on the Sunday night? I would have to leave that night. Thanks!!

God bless you always, bless your way to inspire people. Thanks God that HE put your videos in my way, I was lost and scared, because my school didn't help me at all and I was learning just by myself. I followed every tip that you said in the videos, and I keep saying to myself EMY YOU CAN DO IT ! I wrote in the front of my books I OWN THIS EXAM! I sat with attitude that I will pass the exam and guest what ? I PASSED ON MY FIRST TRY. Without the prayers of my church and your videos I couldn't make it.IT WAS NOT EASY ! ENGLISH is not my first language and I needed to translate a lot from English to Spanish in order to understand. I couldn't enroll in your seminars because I had the date of test already, but I learned that its not worthy give your money to a college that wont teach you what you need for the test. I'm looking forward to get more credentials but only with your training ! :* GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS ! GOD BLESS EVERY STUDENT THAT ITS IN YOUR HAND , NEVER CHANGE AND NEVER STOP MAKING VIDEOS !

Let me tell you Mrs. Ortega is the truth. I attended her 3 day course and I was shocked at how much I had learned in three days. The Three days were very long and by the end of the night you will be exhausted. It's all worth it. I took the EXAM and PASSED ON THE 1ST TRY. Take her course, trust me you won't regret it.

Thank you Ms. Ortega, I watched your video off & on as time permits me to. Great information, I do have a question, I read the comments below, and it was mentioned that in Dallas the 3 day course, you can take the test the vary next day on Monday morning, is it the test from AAPC? and what are the statistics of passing & being certified? I've been putting off taking your course because I am suppose to be attending community college, taking Medical Information Coder-Biller, but I'm having a run around with the school because of SAP back in 1978/1979 unbelievable, I'm not that young, I'm 57 years old, I do have some medical administration back ground, but it goes back to 1987-1991, I became a pastors wife afterwards, but we get so little pay, I like to go back to the work force to help contribute to our retirement, and get paid better. I like to talk with my husband about your course, and how do you feel for a 57 year taking your course, is there hope?

85%pass rate o on the 1st try when you take the test on the 4th day which we HIGHLY recommend!!!! For the few that don't pass on the first try, they always do on the 2nd try..aapc offers a 2nd free retake! Sign up..there's nothing out there that compares!

    Mrs. Ortega,
Did you happen to get my post yesterday? I’ve never posted to UA-cam before. Basically I’d summed up as,
“I need your help so very badly!”
I’m new to MC/MB, I enrolled in an online certification school and a few weeks Info my studies.
I just hit the Module on Medical Terminology and it’s over 2500 pages.
I was right on track with my “End Goal” of 4 -5 months until now. II was completing Modules in 2-3 days. I am now in my 3rd week on this Comprehensive Medical Terminology book (pg 96 out of 2100 pgs.). I’m doing my best to memorize all these definitions for every single system that make up our bodies and I’m truly frustrated.
I have my BS from the Un. of MO, my Masters from SMU, and my PhD from TCU and all these body parts and their functions are harder than any of my previous schooling!
I hope you received my post last night because it was a lot more detailed.
You are a FABULOUS teacher! I’ve learned so much from YOU! Please don’t stop!
    ~Shannon

I wish I would’ve found you before I went to school for my RHIT. All I wanted to do was coding but I couldn’t find a reputable company so I went to well known University for RHIT, have incurred University school loan debt and all I still want to do is coding but I’m feeling stuck on the information side, not making a lot of money.

Okay music to my ears doll! You might consider Dallas to take the course..Just something to ponder because the amazing thing about taking the course in Dallas is that you take the course Friday through Sunday then you turn right around Monday morning and take the test with us right then and there..Fabulous results I tell you!!!!!!

After you receive the right coding credentials, how hard is it to gain employment? I noticed on job boards, some companies required a certain number of experiences before you even apply.

    • @MedicalCodingAcademy
      @MedicalCodingAcademy  7 років тому +2

Apply anyway because they're going to hire you anyway..watch my other videos. If my students werent landing jobs right after the 3 day course, I wouldn't be here traveling coast to coast...make sense?

GOD is so good!! He led me to Mrs Ortega. I took her 3 day class last year and did not know a think about the medical industry and PASSED the cpc exam on the first try. Two weeks later I landed a job as a medical coder. I'm So excited!! Mrs Ortega has a heart of gold and truely cares about her students. I highly recommend her course.
