    Last night I checked the AAPC website and I saw I passed my CPC exam. This was my first time taking this exam. When I took the course with Miss Ortega, I was absolutely inexperienced and had no knowledge whatsoever of medical coding. Oh, my God! I am sooooooooooo suuuuuper happy I can't even begin to explain!!!!!!!!! There is no way I would have been able to pass this exam without Miss Ortega. She is a wonderful teacheeeer!!!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Miss Ortega, from the bottom of my heart. I am so grateful for your knowledge, professionalism, your patience, and caring. To everybody who's contemplating the idea of taking the CPC exam, please, do yourself a favor and take Miss Ortega's 3-day workshop. You'll be glad you did!!! Amazing, teacher, just amazing teacher!!! Thank you very much, again.

    I took mrs ortegas CPC course in may and got my test results today. I PASSED! I'm still in shock! A few months ago I didn't even know what medical coding was or have any experience in the medical field and I was so scared I would be one of the few that fail. I was wrong. Mrs Ortega is so extremely knowledgeable and cares about each and every one of her students. I am so so thankful I randomly stumbled upon her UA-cam video and decided to go for her course. She is the real deal you guys! If you are thinking about taking her course or are skeptical, please go for it I promise you will not regret it! Thank you SO much mrs Ortega you are seriously the best!!! Also my mom is so proud of me this seriously made my entire year! 😆

    I remember when I first saw her youtube video. By the end, I felt I knew her. I’ve always admired those who press on despite the hurdles and proceed to do good in this world. Her story intrigued me. There was a certain kind of beauty in the courage of this fragile fighter. I had researched a ton of teachers before stumbling onto her video. Quite frankly no other teacher was able to captivate my attention the way she did. In the end that was what mattered so I registered for her course that same night.
    Having taken her course, not only did I walk away with a thriving career, but I also got to witness her true nature, her demeanor. I witnessed her selflessness. The way she ran to help every single student who waivered in the slight loss of clarity. For three days, she never once left the classroom..not even to use the restroom. She was determined to stay in class during breaks with an urgency to do some one on one coaching. She pledges her life to her students and I’ve truly never ever seen anything like it. She crushed our deepest doubts. The fear I felt about passing the test was paling right before my very own eyes. Before I knew it, the industry wasn’t what we feared it to be as new coders entering the field and our anxiety became a ravashing hunger to sprint right into it.
    I showed up to class excited and nervous. Within 5 minutes the level of her humility put me at complete ease. Then 15 minutes in, I was already receiving overwhelming evidence that I was in one of the most fortunate classrooms in the nation.
    This lady was straightforward, enthusiastic, and highly influential. She taught the most complex of guidelines, yet she turned them all simple. I could tell this by the gasps I heard across the room from people who apparently knew enough to know the difference. But the true ART of her teaching was her profound ability to command the audience. There wasn’t a yawn in the room, nobody looked out the window and I think we can all agree we wished we didn’t have to use the restroom. Its only in hindsight, that I realize the surrealism of the entire event. She kept every single one of us on the edge of our seat. By Sunday night were tiered but yet we didn’t want it to end...it’s a difficult thing to explain. She was animated, energetic but most importantly she was utterly compelling. It was like a theatrical performance but irrefutably authentic and fresh.
    There were quite a few people in class that had enrolled in prior programs ranging from 1 year to 5 years ago that were still living the nightmare repeatedly failing the test and paying off the huge school loans. I hope that through my words I can serve as a testimony that there is another way….that the road of becoming a board certified coder can actually be straightforward and flawless.
    Whether she knows it or not peoole dont just come to her for the education. People come to her because after watching her channel they just have to meet her. For most of us, the education we received from her was a bonus....because she radiates something much greater than that in the classroom. The woman carries the annointing of God all around her and all of us experience it firsthand.
    I keep in contact with 2 other women from the class and both of them sware Mrs. Ortega saved their lives. The details of their stories are heartbreaking and I will honor them by saying no more. But unlike them, I didn’t chose Mrs. Ortega because I saw her as a savior. I chose her because I saw her for who she really was. A woman surrounded by darkness determined to be a light. I chose her because out of all the educators I had seen on youtube, she was the only one hellbent on commanding my attention. I was 2 days away from signing up with a vocational college but now in less than 5 weeks total time of stepping foot in her classroom, I am working as a medical coder earning income I thought would take me another decade to reach. Her other attribute, timeliness. I thank God for her timeliness because that’s what ultimately she did….she saved me too.

    After I spend my time and money on refresher courses with useless schools, I knew it was time to find a boot camp. I looked at the AAPC site and found the Mrs. Ortega and her school information. Best thing I ever did. Thanks to Mrs. Ortega's boot camp that I took in August of 2016. I have finally received my certifications as a CPC, COC, and CPMA. Thank you Mrs. Ortega.

    Mrs Ortega is amazing!!! Everything she is absolutely true. You just need to follow instructions and do the tabbing. There also be some homework that you would need to do and it crucial that you complete all the work before the class. Mrs. Ortega is an amazing educator, she will provide you with all you need to pass the exam during the course. Once the course you complete it you will know exactly what to do to pass it.I took Mrs. Ortega's CPC course in February of 2017 and passed my exam on the first try! Thank you Mrs. Ortega!!!

But thanks to this program and Mrs. Ortega's teaching , I'm confident that I will pass my exam on the first try. Also, doing her pre-work is VERY important!!! I took Miss Ortega's CPC course in Ontario last month, February 2017, and it was a great course. Miss Ortega is a very good teacher, very focused, and structured. She always makes sure her students understand what she is teaching. She is kind and has a nice personality. She gives a lot of information and wants to make sure her students will pass the exam the first time they take it. Very professional. I totally recommend her courses 100%.

    I took Mrs. Ortega's class last month and passed the board exam on the first try. Her class is intense, but if you are serious about learning, you will be able to get through it. There will be pre-work and homework so it is crucial to complete all your assignments and come prepared to class. If you have the desire to learn and have the commitment to do the work, you will do well.
    Mrs. Ortega is a great instructor who has a lot of knowledge in medical coding. She is serious about her teaching and she wants to see all of her students succeed. She is committed and will make herself available to her students. She not only wants to see you pass your exam, but also be successful in finding a career in the medical coding field. Mrs. Ortega tells her students she will be there for them every step of the way and she really means it! I would definitely recommend this course.

    I took Mrs. Ortega's bootcamp this past August, took my test 2 weeks later, and passed on the first try. I don't have much background in medical coding and I was pleasantly surprised about everything I learned in her 3 day course. Mrs. Ortega is so passionate about her teaching. She may be hard on you in class but it's because she truly wants you to learn and pass your test. Even after the course was over she was texting me and following up with me. Hello Future Medical Coders I want to join and say that this 3 day preparation class not only was helpful and efficient to put it lightly but it gave me wings to fly. I could say numerous things about Ms Ortega and how wonderful she is and helpful and her class is meticulously organized but she gave me support and she believed in me more than I believed in myself. Miss Ortega saw where I needed to improve and what my weaknesses were and she gave me all the support i needed and she does that for everyone. People take her class you will never ever regret it. I am so much thankful to her and her amazing director Miss Belen who makes sure everything is in order. Thank God to these people who work extremely hard to make sure class is super organized, material is current, people are getting along and understand material, enough time is spent with each student, if that's not enough i don't know what else is needed. Miss Ortega you ROCK you are an amazing person, teacher, friend and lots more. Thank you from all my heart and thank you from my parents who can't thank you enough. I will continue taking next classes with you. With all my heart thank you Miss Ortega. You most dedicated student Nigora S

    This 3 day coding course is beyond anything you could ever imagine! Ms. Ortega is amazing at what she does. The passion that she has for her students is unreal. You would need to experience it to even begin to understand. Medical Coding Academy gives you everything you need to pass the CPC board exam in just 3 days. 3 very intense, yet highly comprehensive days of training. I recommend this course for anyone looking to gain the CPC credential. You will be in awe. Ms. Ortega genuinely wants everyone of her students to be successful and it shows. I have never seen anything like it. She truly has the students best interest at heart and will do everything in her power to help her students. She is all about her students. If you are undecided, look no further. You have found the training program you have been searching for. However, you must do your part. You must complete the pre-work, you must do your homework, you must apply the techniques, and use the formulas, she has been doing this long enough, and has figured out the simplest approaches to even the most complex material- listen to her, take her advice, and you will be successful. It will not be a vacation, but I promise you it will be worth it! Go for it! And good luck.
    P. S.
    Ms. Ortega, it was a pleasure meeting you and your team this weekend! You guys are awesome. Keep up the amazing work. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again for everything!

    I just finished taking the 3 day CPC course in Orlando and I must say I am so glad I did!!! Mrs. Ortega is a beast!! She knows her stuff in and out! She is AWESOME!!!! She is truly an angel and it was an honor being her student. She had me from the beginning due to her passion for God!! She truly loves her students and you can tell in her passion in teaching us. The class is intense so please don't go into it thinking it's like another college course b/c it is FAR from it. You are working and learning NON-STOP from the moment you step foot in that classroom and yes you will have homework EVERY evening. So please do not go into this thinking you will also make a mini vacation out of it b/c it's far from a vacation. I left her classroom feeling very confident that I will pass my exam my first attempt! I will be signing up for the next course COC as I plan on being certified in that as well by the end of the year---matter of fact I will be taking all of Mrs. Ortega's classes that she offers for the remaining certifications. Trust me-TAKE HER COURSE---you will be so glad you did!!! Thank you Mrs. Ortega you are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I took Mrs. Ortega's CPC bootcamp in August 2017, took the CPC exam two weeks later and just found out today that I PASSED. I could have never done this w/o Mrs. Ortega. She is so incredible. She teaches in a way where you just 'get it.' I took a coding course a few years ago and was lost and confused. I didn't even attempt the CPC exam after the year-long course. I dropped it. Then decided to try to learn it again years later and found Mrs. Ortega on UA-cam. All it took was one video and I knew that if i wanted to learn to be a medical coder that she would be the only who could teach me. And I was right. Not only is she great at teaching but she is a sweetheart. She truly cares about the success of her students.

    Mrs. Ortega what confuses me is the tabbing system and how to apply the tabs. That part is mind boggling me. I know it's a simple process but just watching this video I get headaches why I have no idea. The fact that I will be able to take my books with me to the exam is helpful to know. Hopefully when we do meet up that you will be able to clarify this more for me. This is a big task but I do have the willingness to follow through this.

    Delissa, I'm curious as to whether AAPC or AHIMA approve or certify your course, given that it's only three days? (I would think that they would insist that medical coding requires much more of a time investment, given that their own courses are much more time-intensive.)
    And, that said, what is your opinion on their approaches?

    • @MedicalCodingAcademy
      @MedicalCodingAcademy  7 років тому +5

      David Rosenblatt Medical Coding Academy is licensed as reflected in the home page of our website Medicalcodingacademy.org
      No, neither organizations have ever seen my 3 day curriculum. I wrote my own 3 day curriculum with some help from my partner. I don't know how else to say this except to come right out and say it but my students feel way more educated and way more prepared after my 3-day class then they do after having sat through a four-month online class. do whatever you can to make it to my 3-day class and you too will be absolutely floored as to how much you learn in 3 days check out all of the reviews on our medical coding Academy Facebook page and website this course is as successful as it is and I am flying Coast to Coast because it works I cut out all the fluff and stick to exactly what you absolutely have to know. but bigger than that I just found a way to break down all these really extremely complex guidelines into very simple terms and that's why the three-day class is something pretty spectacular.

    • @TroyOi
      @TroyOi 7 років тому +2

      Thanks for your quick reply, Delissa! Yes, based on what I've seen so far (most particularly the rave reviews of your alumni), I'm sure you do have a very effective course. And I can understand why you might be reluctant to offer an opinion on the curricula of AAPC or AHIMA, considering that your company is licensed by them. ;-)
      I'm surprised though, when you say that AAPC and AHIMA have not seen your curriculum. If they don't know what you're teaching, what basis do they have for certifying your course?
      And, by the way, if there's any implied criticism in my question, it's of *them*, not you. It seems to me that the onus should be on AAPC and AHIMA to know at least a little bit about the curricula of the courses they're putting their stamps of approval on.

    • @MedicalCodingAcademy
      @MedicalCodingAcademy  7 років тому +6

      David Rosenblatt the organizations don't see anyone's curriculums. They allow all of their AAPC instructors to use the AAPC curriculum but in most cases instructors either use it to the T or edit their curriculums as they see fit. The organization's in most cases do not know and or have never met any of the licensed instructors. This is why I say in my videos stop asking if a teacher is licensed and spend your time getting in front of your teacher to truly discern if that teacher has a true passion for the industry and do they truly care about the students success. that's why I put myself on UA-cam so that the student can have the opportunity to get in front of me before making their investment. ;)

    This is my story on how I met Miss Ortega. I have been a coder/medical biller for over 15 years. At this point I decided that I would take the CPC exam so I can become certified. I took the test and of course I failed. I realize that I needed to take a refresher course since after so many years I picked up some bad habits. Once I finished taking my refresher course. I jumped right back into taking the exam. So, what are you know once again I failed the 2nd time around. Now at this point I was frustrated and upset that I had spent all this time and money to take this refresher course that didn't help at all. I decided to go on the AAPC website since I'm a member to look for a boot camp where I can obtain all the Certs in a short amount of time possible. That's where I found Mrs.Ortega. I took her Boot Camp course in Boston, mass and boy was it informative. The amount of information and the amount of days and hours that you spent with Mrs. Ortega is priceless. Nevertheless, three weeks later after taking her course I passed my CPC exam. A month later after that I took my COC and I passed. Two weeks after that I decided to go and take the CPMA exam and passed that. I was a happy camper to say the least. she is truly an individual that knows her stuff. If it wasn't for her I would've probably not passed any of my exams. But let me be clear you have to be in individual who thrives to want to learn to grasp all of the information that she gives you so you can pass your future exams. Thank you Mrs. Ortega

    I am living in Long Island, New York Do you offer any online courses or is it only in person? I want to learn your course ASAP so I could able to pass the exam. I appreciate your advice and information. Thank you very much.

    Medical Coding Academy is worth the money, time, and sacrifice away from family! If you go into the class with your pre-work completed and fully prepared to focus solely on the course, you will be able to learn and obtain the information needed to pass your exam. Mrs. Ortega and each one of her staff members go above and beyond to help each individual! They truly believe in what they are doing, and after taking the course, I do too! You will have quite a bit of homework every night after class, so there is absolutely no time to vacation. If taking the CPC certification course, you will experience three days full of engaging lessons taught by someone who absolutely wants what is best for you and your future. The Medical Coding Academy staff pour their hearts into what they do! I went in with no experience in the industry. I left with a CPC certification, full faith in the abilities and heart of Mrs. Ortega and her staff, and the tools/materials necessary to immediately apply for a job while practicing the skills she taught.

    For anyone who thinks this is a scam it is NOT. I just took the 3 day course for CPC and it is no joke. I know your thinking that there is no humanly way possible to receive a semester worth of education in three days but you can. Mrs. Ortega is very knowledgeable and passionate about medical coding and can teach you all you need to know to pass the national board exam on your first try. When you sign up she will send you a packet that will need to be completed before the taking the course, and it will be very time consuming, and confusing as well because you don't know what it means, but in class she explains everything to you and it will make so much sense in the end. Since she offers a three day course to learn everything you need to know to pass the CPC exam, it will be no stroll in the park. Those three days are so intense, there is just so much information being loaded into your brain. When Mrs. Ortega is up there teaching she is not messing around. Her class starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 7 p.m. but the fun doesn't stop there because she give you more homework to complete before the next day, therefore making her class feel like hell, but it is worth it. She does not teach any nonsense, she teaches you valuable information that you will need to know to pass the exam and also in the real life when you get a job as a medical coder. I am so glad I found Mrs. Ortega first, and did not waste my money on any other school. So if you decide to to take her class do your research, do all of your pre work, watch all her videos, bring your A game because she does to.

    I’d advise anyone taking Mrs. Ortega’s course to follow her instructions explicitly or most of what you learn from her will evaporate into thin air. She has a wealth of knowledge on the subjects she teaches. But the nuggets are in the strategies. What she teaches is “platinum” and will boost your confidence in attacking the exam ten fold!
    Too much time passed before I could take the test. If you choose to sign up for Mrs. Ortega’s class, schedule your exam as close to her class as possible, while what you learn is still fresh in your mind. In this way, you won’t feel nearly as intimidated in taking it which in itself will govern how well you do on it.
    Take what you learn from her seriously. The passion she has for teaching her students is infectious. I’ve personally witnessed how involved she gets in seeing her students succeed. Don’t let what she teaches and her emotional involvement in you go to waste. Otherwise you’re waisting your money. She invited me back for a refresher, and so much of what she taught came back and makes so much sense that I personally missed the first time around. Sometimes that happens, not every student learns at the same pace.
    In my case, I work very long hours. I drive freight for a living and my schedule burns 14 hours or more of my day, which means I have to prepare my day at least an hour and a half before going to work and an hour and a half from the time I leave work to the time I wind down and fall asleep. So I can easily burn 17 hours and somewhere in there I still have to do my personal errands, chores, eat, the personal routine stuff. This has left me personally exhausted. This is the reason I’m taking Mrs Ortega’s course. I’m sick of the trucking industry as it sucks the life out of me. My schedule won’t allow for any other schooling on my schedule. So what Mrs. Ortega provides is hope. Take advantage of her course while you can, she’s only one person, she’s a tiger, but she won’t be able to do this forever, so don’t let this opportunity pass you by. It’s a once in a lifetime! And is life changing.
    Thank you Mrs Ortega, thank you!

    I Passed!!! YAY! No matter what it takes fly, drive or swim make sure you take the seminar it's so worth it! I couldn't have done this on my own. Having someone take you through the books, explain things in detail and answers your question is the only way to go. When I went to take the exam my friend and I ( she took the seminar class with me ) had learned that there were a few people that had taken the exam for a 2nd ,3rd or 4th time. We notice they didn't have the tabbing in there books ..We of course wished them luck but did tell them if they didn't pass to go to Mrs. Ortega's Seminars, we gave them her website and told them to go to the UA-cam videos.. My friend and I have and will continue to inform people about Mrs. Ortega. We both are looking forward to the other Seminars that we will be attending.
    I would like to Thank you Mrs.. Ortega for all you do. It takes a lot of time to help get people into this industry. The other thing I would like to stress to the people who don't do the HOMEWORK before the Seminar. DO IT!! You are disrespecting Mrs. Ortega and the other people in the class if you don't.. Her time is very important and there is so much to learn in 3 days that you need to be responsible so just DO IT!! When your receive your packet, do all that's required it will pay off in the end....Show the RESPECT she and everyone in the class deserves. Okay I hope I expressed enough to get the homework done before class..

    Without knowing anything about her course and just listening to this video, she is providing, with the pre-course info you write into your books, a time-saving short-cut or a cheat (and I mean that in a good way) that would have taken months if not years to accumulate in a classroom and workplace setting. The notes you write as a student and later new coder may or may not be what should have been written in to be helpful. An instructor might tell their class when to add to their books on some things. When you test for coding, coders can take their book in with them. No other license testing allows you to bring any material in with you. Transcriptionists testing for the CMT couldn't even bring in a foot pedal to control the voice file so you can keep both hands on the keyboard typing. Rip. What you write in can make the difference between passing and failing. It's like an ACT or SAT test, timed, structured, and proctored. So, it sounds like she has put together the info to write in that would have taken months to come across at a school and then only if you could figure out what was important to add to your book. A big advantage, I'd say. Once you learn how to use your book, you can finish learning on the job, backfill your understanding and add to your expertise and speed. Because it's all there that you need. Makes sense.

    Hello Hello!
    I attended Mrs. Ortega’s 3 day CPC course in Orlando, FL this past weekend and I am taking my CPC exam THIS upcoming weekend. That’s right, I registered for the exam weeks before even taking this course because I believe in this program SO MUCH!! If you’re anything like I am, you are probably reading this and thinking I am crazy to have done that without fully knowing what I was walking into. But I did, and looking back I have no regrets WHATSOEVER. Thanks to Mrs. Ortega and the fine folks at Medical Coding Academy I am going to be a certified professional coder less than a week after leaving her class and that is HUGE. The fact that their student’s passing rate for the exam is as high as it is, and some of these students are people similar to me…that are college drop outs….and maybe didn’t do the best in school….yet they have the highest rate--that is AMAZING.
    I first came across her channel upon seeing the video about vocational schools, after being severely disappointed with the one I was attending. I invested way more cash into that previous school than I did into Mrs. Ortega’s class…and she has selflessly given me and my classmates such a wealth of coding knowledge that I am so grateful for!
    Give MCA a chance. There are way too many people, who are unhappy with their financial circumstances that do not need to be. Coding can be your answer. If you’re not interested, then you very likely know someone who wants to crawl out of the ‘paycheck to paycheck’ struggle and have a career where they can provide for the individuals they care about. SHARE this with them, please.

    P.S. -----& DO YOUR PREWORK------ (I say this with love, I really do)
    UPDATE:
    So I took my exam exactly a week ago & my results are already here. Sad to say I did not pass on my first try, I REALLY REALLy wanted to though. Soooo I just have to reevaluate a few things and go harder next time although it's already been two weeks since I took the MCA course where I was practically GIVEN the tools to pass this. So I'm worried about forgetting what I was taught. But I have my MCA workbook...
    I'm happy for all yall that passed on your 1st try, & if you failed like me I'm proud of you too because no one drops that amount of money on an exam just to screw around.
    Keep on keepin' on, peeps ✊🏽

    Does your class allow for the "A" credential to be dropped from the entire credential for the AAPC? You have to have about 2yrs experience to drop that "A".

    Hi! I'm looking into AAPC certificate exam dates following the MCA course I want to take next month & the exam date I can take is 3weeks after the course. Is it recommended that I even take the course?? Because it's so far after the course? (There's just two seats left to take the exam on that date).

    So I’m trying to decide whether to get the home study kit or do the 3 day course, I’m already in the process of a course and it’s too late to cancel but I want to make sure I’m taking advantage of every opportunity. My main concern is am I getting the same resources with the 3 day course as is in the kit? Like the color coding chart and medical coding cases or do I have to purchase those separately?

    • @MedicalCodingAcademy
