- In today's lesson we will focus on one of the most important things in cello playing, which is bow distribution! Without having that bowing technique, it will make things difficult, specially if you want to create beautiful, musical lines. The Study that I am using in today's lesson, comes from the book "Feuillard: Studies of the Young Cellist", Study No. 43, which is a Study for Arpeggios.

currently practicing popper project #23 and bow distribution is such a hectic thing for me and I'm really trying to learn it for region LOL, thanks for the video.

@@IliaLaporevcellist Added to my list for bow distribution. Came up in Lee 40 etudes (op.70), Feuillard will help me! Also for Lee etude 33, legato string crossing, I adapted Feuillard 36 to practise bow balance. Still hitting adjacent strings, especially at 4th and higher thumb positions. What if you play the bow on the neck (reseach for composing?
Just tried it. I don’t think there will be benefit for the composer as there is no sound coming out of it.
