I’m a fan .Have 4 of their albums . Never really liked the first album all that much but really love Total life Forever. Saw them when they toured for this album and they were good. I saw them last December and they blew me away , best show I’ve seen in years . On the new album “Life is Yours” they amp up the dance grooves , similar to My Number from Holy Fire. Check out 2am or Wake me up.
Think it might have been me that mentioned Foals with regards to the Last Dinosaurs track we covered. But yes, this is a great tune, very uplifting and propulsive and it sounded incredible when I accidentally saw them live a few years ago. At a time when guitar-led British indie rock is in the doldrums (and probably deservedly so tbh), Foals along with a handful of others are keeping the flag flying. On the bass drum, sounds to me like the drummer has left it very slightly unmuffled to get that distinct boom (by muffled, I mean the old blanket in the drum trick beloved of us stickspeople).
@@theaudiophiles7889 I hope Nurse Ratchet isn’t tending to you. Another coinkydink… the video of Jack accepting a BAFTA award from the set of One Flew Over the Cookoo’s Nest came up in my feed this week and I watched it again.
I did a whole discography listen with a friend on this band. Loved the music but his voice just grated, not my cup of tea. It got to a stage that I hated him singing over solos or instrumental sections with his whoops.
@@mikesummers-smith4091 The Magnetic Fields tune? Hahaha! Dare I say it's a bit of Column A and a bit of Column B? The chorus's soaring "draaaaaaggggg" wears out its welcome halfway through its first appearance. But the rest of the lyrics do cajole a smile outta me.

No love for Brighton?
Jon: I just watched a KEXP performance dropped earlier this week. Why have you kept Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs from me?
It wasn't me Bob, it was Nurse Ratched.
Cheers, Jon.
Funny you mention this KEXP upload. I just watched this the day before yesterday while laid up post surgery. 🤣 - Andy

Sorry, formulaic and over-produced for me. Quite well done, but not at all to my taste. (And I had come across FOALS before.)
No apologies necessary, Mike. Thanks for stopping in and giving it a try despite knowing you weren't a big fan of FOALS. We appreciate ya! - Andy
I still can't decide whether "Andrew in Drag" is a song with cleverly witty lyrics or is really annoying.
