Simple camping recipe. Potatoes brushed with oil and then salt. Wrap in aluminum foil. When your camp fire is done for night, bury your potatoes in the hot coals. When you wake up, yum. You can eat with salt or fry them for breakfast or use them as a side for lunch or dinner. Enjoy your trip & God Bless you. * new to channel, luv your tips. THANKS
Besides being used to make baking powder, cream of tartar is great for cleaning stainless steel pans. My great-grandma used it for that besides making fresh baking powder. I also use it on my aluminum canner lid. It removes the blackened stuff from the canner around the steam spout using an old toothbrush. For my SS pans, it removes the rare stuff that sticks and best of all, it does not scratch. Here in the States here, they use gmo corn products, not my personal choice to consume. I have made marshmallows with coconut nectar syrup and rice syrup, but never made simple sugar syrup to make them. I'll give this a try the next time I make marshmallows, or "momos" as my daughter used to call them when a toddler. Thank you! I also make a marshmallow recipe, but then add the remaining ingredients for a batch of marshmallow fudge. Much better than the jarred marshmallow creme version. ;)
OMG! How easy is this. Since I found you a couple weeks ago I have learned so much and how to save even more money which is really helping me at this point in my life. We, (my family) absolutely love camping. The one request I get is what we call potatoe boats, so simple and easy. You can customize each person's potatoes simply by changing the spices you add. You will need heavy-duty aluminum foil. Wash or peal potatoes, dice into 1 inch cubes, put into center of foil add lots of butter then season with your favorite seasoning. Our favorite way to eat potatoes! Close up foil, bring long edges together and fold down and leave about a 1to 2 inch space above potatoes then fold sides together leaving space so you can shake when cooking. Now use plenty of butter, usually 2 small potatoes takes at least 1/2 stick of butter. They take about an hour so I always put them on the open pit grill first. My favorite is just to salt and pepper them but the others are all different, 1 likes garlic another likes a season all another adds fresh chopped onion or chives, and another goes for a spicy hot. So there are a million ways to make them to anyone's delight. They are absolutely hands down the best potatoes you will ever eat. I hope you give them a try. So so easy. Have a great time camping. TFS. Have a fabulous week! Take care. Many blessings to you and yours
