  • The speed of your backswing will determine the speed of your downswing, how you load the golf club and ultimately create lag. These ingredients create an improved strike on the golf ball and delivering golf ball compression.
With the use of the Hackmotion training aid, I show you a hugely powerful ingredient to improve your timing and speed.

This video gives you great detail on how to hit more greens, hit more fairways and lower your golf scores and ultimately your handicap.
    We look at 3 things:
    1. How to start your backswing
    2. How to create lag in your downswing for more power
    3. Why you should pull on the golf club
and I hope to do all this with simple understanding to create a simple golf easy golf swing.

Stu, another contrarian view from you, and I believe you’re spot on. 👍🏾Over the last few years I’ve tested the fast, medium and slow backswings to see and feel which is best for me, and the fast was NOT it. I am more of the medium to slow back swing tempo that works best for me, which allows me to pull as fast as I want while keeping the club stable. Each time I hear you say grip it reminds me how vitally important it ii to have the correct grip in the golf swing. Cheers.

Good morning from W. Michigan coach ! I thought the sequence on a fast backswing was to start out fast and let the swing slow down to transition. Thank you for your efforts and great insights.

As always there is no size that fits all. For Bryson faster in the backswing creates more club head lag which he can then unload for more speed, but Bryson looks to have a fairly violent transition. The other extreme is that a lot of the S Korean tour players have a fairly slow backswing but a very gentle transition, and they are not short of club head speed.
Club head lag at the top of the back swing is a wonderful example of inertia in action. In very simplistic terms the club head will continue to travel in the direction set by the back swing until the force the golfer puts into the club grip moving in the opposite direction in the down swing is sufficient to over ride the club head inertia. (this assumes a light grip, a really firm grip inhibits the inertia).
Bryson creates more lag because by putting more speed into the backswing it takes a little longer in transition for the force in the club grip moving in the downswing to over ride the club head still moving in the back swing direction. The S Korean players create more lag by being gentle in transition so it takes them longer to build up enough force into the club grip moving in the downswing to over ride the club head - probably the most extreme version of that would be the swing Hideki had when he first started on tour with a definite pause with his hands at the top of the back swing.
IMO Stuart is right to get us to have a more deliberate, slower backswing (with the right grip!!). Bryson style speed in the back swing does work for Bryson because he is incredibly strong, he can handle the forces that amount of back swing speed generates, the average golfer cannot - with the average golfer who tries the Bryson method it is likely that injuries will follow.

I've yet to see a long drive champion with a slow backswing. Because the club must be still moving back while the body has started forward you need a certain natural level of momentum to achieve this. Most amateurs swing far too slowly and try to place the club
into certain positions. Take a bad swing and slow it down and all you have is a bad slow swing. Swing as fast as possible whilst keeping
in balance and you'll be both longer and more accurate because you're not trying to guide the ball.

Nicholas, you are comparing a marathon runner with a sprinter… completely different disciplines, long drivers to golfers. Couldn’t disagree more. But, love hearing your thoughts and always welcome them. Best wishes Stu 😊

Really appreciate you showing what the HackMotion does, but, not acting like it's going to get us on the tour. I unsubscribed from a lot of channels do to their pushing it so much. Of course now I found your channel I unsubbed them all. It does seem to do what it says very well, but, it's obvious now the time would be way better spent in your grip series.

Love your videos are you are by far my favorite You Tube coach but can you please stop with the smirky, gloating attitude when you hit a good shot? We all know you are a great golfer so in the words of the famous American football coach Joe Paterno, "Act like you've been there before." In other words, don't celebrate your good shots, just act like they are normal and "par" for the course.

    • @GoodGolfCoaching
      @GoodGolfCoaching  3 місяці тому +1

Thanks for the very kind compliment… as far as gloating, not really, just having some fun. Trying to not take myself too seriously is what I do. And btw, I’m not good, I’m just well equipped with my knowledge to hit straight. Which is my intent, to show you all, everyone can hit this straight with the correct guidance. Best wishes Stu 😊
