I think they did a very good job on these, and it's nice that they aren't charging a fortune for them. I think kids are going to love them. Plus it's great that they have alternate outfits - that adds a lot of play value.

Her and her outfits are absolutely gorgeous! Everything seems high quality as well! Ariel's blue dress is definitely my favorite outfit they released and Cinderella and Tiana's work outfits are awesome as well!
I wasn't convinced on them using the Nanea face mold from the stock photos, but now I am. She's gorgeous! Ariel's Day Dress was my favorite outfit from the new release (Tiana's Work Dress was my 2nd, followed by Cinderella's Day Dress). I'm super impressed with the quality for the price! I didn't expect any issue with him but I thought he was just a fun little extra thing - but he looks quite well made. Also, his face is hilarious. Maybe with the stuffed Flounder as a pillow and a tiny Ariel doll for her to hold. As for the Ariel doll herself, she will probably live in her day dress once I buy her.
This is my favorite from this collection. I loved the movie Little Mermaid and it was wonderful taking my kids to see it in theaters when it came out. I love that they chose the Nanea mold for her!! I might just keep her in her original outfit. But I love the kiss the girl dress, so that will be tough not to buy.

Ariel was my daughters favorite movie next to Lion King (1980-90s) and the favorite of a little girl I babysat, she only would take her nap if she listened to the movie. So I still know almost the whole script plus music score to this day. Ariel looks so much better in person! She is stunning. Her outfits remind me of the last year released Storybook dolls and the children's dress up outfits. Sebastian and Flounder are so cute! I am so getting her! I see this being a very popular collaboration and good for the business of both AG and Disney.
I am from the generation that was obsessed with Ariel, The Little Mermaid was our Frozen, and now we are all grown up and can buy what we want 🤣 Great move on AG’s side.
I love her wig and the color of it. Thank you for showing what the star foot carving looks like. I’m not a fan of it and won’t be buying a doll with it. I have plenty of dolls, so I don’t need anymore. ❤
I have a week of vacation in late March, since these are not limited editions I am waiting until then and planning to make a trip to Chicago American Girl so I can decide for myself, where I can see these in person, if I want them.
Oh I am so happy I ordered these this morning 😍 I went with all of Ariel and Cinderella's extra dresses. If you take out Cindy's hair let us know how it is (no pressure if you plan to keep it in a bun though; I am sure someone will take it down eventually)

One question I always ponder: Do you ever find that American Girl quality changes with their first production dolls as opposed to the same ones/model produced down the line? Is it always the same doll or do you ever think that they change it down the line? Like if I bought an Ariel now would it be better quality than a year from now? Just curious if you had any thoughts on that 😊
I don’t think the quality changes drastically in 1 year, I think the quality will be the same in a year. Sometimes AG does minor modifications. Like the dolls got slimmer bodies a couple of years ago, and before that AG tried to force permapanties on us, and there were “bad eyes” too. The quality might vary from doll to doll, some wigs are better than others, the eyes can be a imperfect, the printed parts can be slightly off… So if you are thinking about saving up and buying her later, I think Ariel will be pretty much the same.

It entered my mind because I bought Evette last month and her wig seems very different/lesser quality to me in contrast to some pictures (especially the reviews I see from the time of her first release), so I wondered if they actually make production changes as time goes by or if it's just due to doll differences. She's a hard one though because her hair looks different in different lights so it's truly hard to tell, but had me wondering. :)
@@Kari-G I have the first edition Evette and I bought an extra during the $65 sale , and the look pretty much the same to me. The wigs are slightly different, but I think that’s just a standard variation, they look the same amount of full, just the curls/ waves are slightly different, but not in a way as if AG changed the pattern.

It's nice to know that you think the fullness is the same cause that's what I was really curious about. I love the wild naturalness of her and she's the first doll in my entire life that has ever had MY crazy hair so I just love her so much.

Embroidery IS what American girl used to do. Quality has gone way down. $55 for a doll outfit and no embroidery? NEXT. This is supposed to be a luxury doll line, not a Walmart brand

Yes! They feel just as high quality as the LE dolls minus the crystals, which one can buy at a craft store and apply for much cheaper.

I would love to agree with you, but there is inflation too. I’m just happy with the outfit, hopefully we will get more like it .
