All my stems that are bend I tape a small paper until it firm up. I have 2 of them and 1 albo going thru thrips 😩. I keep all mines in clear pots so I can see the roots.

Yes, I saw your video! Yours looks great. Mine...not so much. It's already in a good aroid mix, but I think I'll repot her into a clear orchid pot to keep a closer eye on the roots.

I think so too. I've already taken off the two lower leaves that were looking really bad. I also put a bamboo stake to hold her up and help that bend stem. Fingers crossed! 🤞.

She looks really good for traveling across the country from 9b scorching desert to 9b subtropics. She'll bounce back and grow new leaves. I've bought several starter plants from The Green Escape nursery in Florida. I've fallen for jewel orchids and they have some insane African violets and nice carnivorous plants.
I've already cut off the two lower leaves that looked bad and I also attached a slim bamboo stick to the bent stem to keep it upright.

The packaging was great. It's just been so hot lately that it suffered heat stress.

I've had some plants where to leaves died so I tried to bring the plant back with just taking care of the root and darned if the plant didn't come back! Enjoy the new plant baby and all that fun bubble wrap!

Sista, you need to repot it, because the root already too long in water can be soft and will die
Congratulations. Being in Florida it will probably grow like crazy. Just surprised that with all the wonderful packaging that three of the leaves got damaged.
I think it's all heat damage. it's been incredibly hot in both Phoenix and Orlando, so it had a rough trip.

Congrats! I’d put it in a chunkier soil once she is acclimated for sure. Thai cons are very prone to root rot.

Hi Carmen, nice plant! Im shure with bright light without direct sunlight and not too much water this monstera will doing well! I dont know, but i would have attention of the dogs, my dogs for example like my monstera deliciosa for eating and i have to take care to keep the leafes away from the dogs 😂 . Thank goodness the dogs leave the plants alone. Georgie actually would rather eat the dirt. Rosie is getting slower these days. She spends a lot of time under the couch lately. She's 15 years old, so she's not as active as she use to be.
That is so cool you won the contest! I just got a baby Thia, about your size, last month! Ours can grow up together! I got my starter from the Green Escape....but it was in the upper $50s so yes never thought I would own one either....I have a big leaf that shoukd unfurl soon....it is nerve racking....But like you said they are hardy and so far so good! So happy for you! Please update how that bent keaf does. :)
That's wonderful! Yes, ours can grow together. I talk to her every morning and give her some encouraging words, so I'm hoping that will help. LOL!
Congratulations! The key is to look after your new plant as though it were 100% perfect, until the next new leaves come out. If it were me, I would brace that bent stem somehow to keep it stable (a toothpick and some propagation tape?). But you'll need to have someone hold the leaf up while you do it, to keep it steady and in position. Good luck 🤞🩷🤞

Yes, I've already removed those two lower leaves and keeping an eye on the third. I also propped up the good leaf that has a bent stem with a little bamboo stake to keep it upright. Fingers crossed! 🤞.

When a plant got a blend, I scotch tape It and It works
hey girl a little tip for that broken leaf try to use a peace of clear tape and it should heal its self
I attached it to a thin bamboo stick and have it propped up. The leaf looks fine so far. I did remove the two bottom ones that had so much heat damage.

Beautiful plant, enjoy watching it grow. Whatever you do don't over-water it. I live in the northeast and I water mine once a month in the winter and twice in the summer. I've learned that they tolerate drought much better than being wet. My Thai lives in a super chunky mix and in a terracotta pot. Is it safe to order plants from The plant Stand of Arizona being that it is so extremely hot in there? I've been meaning to buy my sister who lives in Phoenix a ZZ plant but I am afraid it won't make it. Congratulations on winning that gorgeous plant.
they have very healthy plants and do a great job of packaging. I would wait until the fall if you're worried about the heat. Temps will be lower by then.

Looked like you opened a cotton candy.
Be very careful with that plant they rot fast. I lost my first one that way. Let it dry out and bottom water it if possible. Don't cut the leaves for a bit unless the browning continues. It usually only stays on the white, and they love morning sunlight.

@@carmenwhitehead anytime and congrats. When it has acclimated consider moving it into an aroid mix. I lost mine because it went crazy in PON and I decided since it had so many roots to move it to cocopeat. It was dead in a week. I purchased another one and it is doing great in an aroid mix.
