- First day on just opened tramline extension to airport, Tallinn. 01.09.2017
The tram track is about 700 meters long, with 150 meters long tunnel on it, and has two stops „Ülemiste linnak“ and „Lennujaam“.
As you can see, some of the jobs aren't still done. Even the stand platforms and schedules are not up yet.
All the landscape works are planned to finish in November.
Construction works started in august 2016.
Very nice video, it's always good to see new tram lines being built.
Thank you!
Excellent video of the new tramlink to the Airport! The trams are looking good ;-)
Best regards from Helsinki, Tuukka
Thanks Tuukka! :)
glad to see tram expansion and such beautiful models!!!
Everything looks very modern
Because it is Estonia and not the backward countries of Latvia and Lithuania.
Great video! Trams of Tallinn are interesting.
Hea video! Wonderful, finally the new rails are in use, and it gets easier to use the tram.
Aitäh! :) Correct, now it's so much easier to get to the airport.
Sounds like ufo landing sound.
Thanks to the engine, which is used on this tram?
Lo mejor que te lleva desde el aeropuerto al centro de la ciudad. A disfrutarlo quien vaya a Tallin.
cool video!
nice trams !
very nice video, thank you for uploading
BTW what's the brand of that tram?
nettraveller Thanks! It's Caf Urbos.
Nice video!
:-)
CAF Urbos is the newest tram in Tallinn?
yes
Hi. I find the trams unusually loud (motors maybe). Is it normal?
HI!
You're right these trams are making very loud noise. Caused by traction converter and It's appears to be normal for these tram models.
That's what I was thinking too. I have travelled on many modern trams by other manufacturers (Siemens, Skoda, Stadler, Alstom) but I don't think any of them were that loud.
As a Tallinn citizen I can say they are HORRIBLY loud... They can be much louder than in the video and its horrible for the ears... Pure earrape. I wish they bought normal trams not these fucking annoying loud peace of shits...
It is probably because they use AC instead of most trams which use DC
Why the hell would they install such trams? These make so much more noise pollution
Hello! Thank you so much!👏🌐❤🌈🎆😊👌💧🌞🎓👏!
MsTallinnk how are these projects financed? EU or government debt or municipality? There is a boom going on!
Most projects are 85% financed by EU and the rest is covered by government or the city.
only took us 28 years. can't wait until next elections, see what gets done then. :F
I am compiling a video of tram networks across all the capitals in Europe. I have not had a chance to film this system and was wondering if I could use 40 seconds of your footage? I would be more than happy to list your channel as credits under the description once I put out the video
As long as you credit me, you can use the 40 second part of the video.
So will this tram take me into the old town of Tallin ?
Lisa Burns yeap. Viru is the stop To get off then.
*Tallinn
I think that trams are an expensive way to provide transport to an airport if they are not part of an existing network. The use of buses, articulated (bendy) or with enclosed trailers (Zurich) is a viable option and these use existing roads.
Well. zurich has its airport conneced by bus, tram (since 2010) and train. The tram link seems to pay out, extensions are planned
They are part of an existing network.

What a horrible noise this makes, completely unnecessary,
