I was the buyer of that 6.0 Young Romance 150 for $700. Love it, no regrets. Doubt I could ever score a 9.0 or 9.2. Jay Scott Pike was buddies with John Romita (both working on romances - Romita before the hero stuff) so compare Amazing Spider-Man 55 with Young Romance 150. Spidey 55 came out 1 month after Young Romance 150
Well done you too the Father & Daughter love your show always showing and talking facts👍 keep up the awesome work you too The G Man Always approves. 😉👊P.S. Talking about retro memory Lane Love the Billy Jack Tee.nice touch. 👊🤟🤘
Your channel popped back up into my you tube algorithm today. I'm glad because I have been getting bored about hearing about many of the same books so often, usually just in different orders. As a newbie (1Year Collecting and Selling) I really enjoy to learn about more books and expand my knowledge about Comics as these are books that can be out in the wild and seeing them helps to jog my memory and maybe potentially find a good and kind of unknown book. Thanks for the help you two. I hope you have a Great Holiday
The more I learn about golden age the more I love it. The history and rarity of them are just so appealing to many of us. Just wish I could afford them 😂
I’m in Australia and I have collected since I was a kid. Having access to the latest comics and variants has not been an option until the last year or so when I discovered What Not. EBay has been an option but difficult to just get cover price new variants/virgins etc. Right now is where comics have become more accessible world wide and this is where it explodes. Just discovered you two but I like your content - cheers.
Found you guys today by chance. Love your shows! liked and subscribed!! I use to collect silver age and had most of the key books before taking a 20 year break till 2015, I'm now loving the pre code horror more than anything... and yes... I also love your Billy Jack T-Shirt lol
I could listen to you talk about comics all day. Thank you for putting these videos out. Would love to see you and your brother on anther episode in the future.
I was 18 and working at a small LCS in the early 90's during both the Death of Superman and the launch of Image. Can confirm that people were lining up around the building to buy/speculate.
I'm on the exact same page re: selling books that I don't personally like. There are a lot of times I'll pass up buying books that seem like good values to sell later simply because I have no interest in them myself.
Billy Jack's the "MAN" 👍😎.....( I wanna' watch that movie now ! ) By the way I Love collecting comics...I'm goin' on 65 ,one of them old guy's you were talk'n about, so (watch it Buddy) 🤣....I am subscribed and I enjoy the content, take care !
Thank you very much for the insight and the fun video - appreciate you guys and looking for to the next one! So, question, what do you think are the most under appreciated COVERs of the 70s, 80s, 90s? Thanks again!
I am sure you have heard this before but... you should think about doing some voiceover work. I have your content flowing in the background while I am working and it is so relaxing and easy to follow. A+ show - you two are fun to watch! (and listen to 🙂) New Sub!
What a Bad Ass Shirt!!! Billy Jack was my hero as a kid. I even had a hat like his in my teens. Excellent content as always! Just to throw this out there, Im intrested in the process of how you buy a collection being as you advertise that on UA-cam. Stuff like do you travel, how do you know if its worth even looking at, how big or small of a collection. I think that would be some good content.
I was watching as you talked FF173 and looked over at my wall and realized I have it in a 9.6 CGC WP...but it is the 30-cent price var. Perfect centering where you see Sue's hand on the right. Yay me. :p
I’ve been collecting comics since I was a kid in the ‘70s and I’ve gotten hold of everything. These days, the favorites are romance (I’ll take sexy girls over guys in tights any day), PCH, Bronze Age horror, even war comics.
I love comics with Galactus as well. Being a Fantastic Four fan, one of my favorite covers with Galactus is FF 74. It's hard to beat Galactus with Kirby dots.
During the time Valiant was hot in the '90's I sold my Rai 2&3 and Magnus #10 for $450 to a dealer, he sold the 2 Rai's while I was still in the store for $200 apiece.
I remember the movie Billy Jack, as a teenagers we liked the character. When someone was too close to him, he will say a catch phrase but i don’t remember it. The movie was in the seventies and my memories is not as good as before 😉.
Question...what's your take on overseas variants? I've seen some amazing books from Australia, Italy and Norway to name a few. A lot of these books had really low print runs, thus are going for some big bucks. There are several international national Hulk#1"s that go for 8-10k. I myself have a Australian Yaffa copy that is now the cornerstone of my collection.
Thanks again for another good solid show. I have an idea for a show. Could you talk about cover swipes like Marvel Super-Heroes 10 and Astonishing Tales 29. I know there are two star trek V1 issues with the same cover and i'm sure there are many more. I paid way to much for a A.T. 29 thinking it was a good deal on S.H. 10. Thanks.
Great show. I appreciate your insight and love the content of the show. Are you going to go to HeroesCon this year? I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to you on two different occasions at this years show.
Comics are an immature in unregulated market. Almost 0 books are an actual true investment, if you want a true investments in a low cost index fund from the S&P.
Billy Jack, well that is a blast from the past. If you are buying please DM would like to get rid of some comics as that is not my realm. I do enjoy your channel.
On precode the detractions sound bullish. You said people chasing it are 45+. Those people are not 70 or 80 years old and having nastalgia for them and driving the market like 80s toys (currently) whatever. They seem safer in the way that they are still chased after the remember childhood factor is gone. example would be western memorabilia which is dead because people who grew up with it are not driving the market and nobody cares. I am 43 and chasing after golden age more than 80s 90s books that i grew up with. Just my opinion. maybe im wrong.
The whole thing is personal experience conjecture to some degree, but who knows? There hasn’t been any true consensus other than some back of napkin notations about a “comic index” on the market as a whole.
I have over 25,000 comics... I will never understand collectors like you. I doubt you have read 5,000 comics. Selling comics is lame. That's not the Punisher's 3rd appearance. Punisher fought in Veitnam before he met Spider-Man, and I have at least 40 of those. If you want to call that the 3rd book, you might as well say Punisher 2099 is his first appearance. You aren't reading the books in order.
Low on content. Unsubbing. You need to go back to showing your friends golden and silver collection instead of rambling. A show about nothing as Seinfeld would say.
TBH this is the best comic channel on UA-cam. Keep up the good work👍🏾
Thank you so much!
Agreed!

Great content! Love the Billy Jack shirt! That takes me waaaaaay back.
Love your content! Please keep doing what you’re doing. Best comic content on UA-cam.
I discovered yall about a year ago. Love the content, it's always different than the rest. Great takes on the industry and artist.
Always informative and fun hangin' out with you through your videos! See ya' next time 💥
Love your tee shirt! Still wearing black ones since first seeing the movie in '71 at 15 ❤👍
Billy Jack! Love it!
Great content and og wisdom. Thanks guys
Billy Jack!! Love it!! I think the other film was "Born Losers"? I remember Paul Simon doing a parody skit on SNL, back when it was funny.

Shout out to "Billy Jack"!!

Awesome 🤘
Hi. Love the content. Will follow you on what not as well. Been searching for a Billy Jack shirt for years. Jealous.

Really enjoyed this episode. The time FLEW by! Many thanks.
House of mystery 236 is another book thats though in high grade. Great Wrightson cover.
ASM 134 is punishers 2nd and 135 is his 3rd. He in the last page of 134. Full page and some panels with speech bubbles
Excellent point! It may get updated, but CGC labels match what I said. It would be like hulk #180 if it was a first appearance cameo, but it’s not.
@@futurepastvintagecollectables I wonder how often these get graded? Maybe it will/has changed?
Romance books are the shit right now.
Loved this video - thanks - new subscriber

“Im going to put my right foot on your left cheek, and there is nothing you can do about it”. Great line!
@@futurepastvintagecollectables Thank for that. imagine when we were teenagers.
