I've been wearing hyperline in my outer duty vest for about 2 years now. Not quite as "pliable" as my issued level II, but still very comfortable and the extra protection is well worth it. Very happy with it!
I've worn body armor for almost forty years. I started with the old Second Chance vests and now the use the external type 'soft' armor' in the uniform shirt style zipper up the front carrier. I'd gladly come out of pocket to get this vest. It's a game changer for comfort in the hot summer down south.
Great video I think it’s the most comprehensive video out there on the safe line hyper line and the new fest and I already had the hyper line armour but just got the new vest in and I and I’d like to make a commentary boat the combination and that is the diaper line is quite Richard stiff like a cardboard feel so it’s not gonna give you the best impression in the first 30 minutes of putting it on but after your body heat warms it up it melts to you and then it’s a great fit and the new hyper concealed vest makes it even better fit
In the UK our biggest threat here is bladed objects, I was having a look at a fair few body armour sites in the US and it amazes me that most body armour isn't actually stab resistant. The US uses NIJ whereas we use HOSDB. We're split into 3 "areas" HG1 and HG2 for handgun rounds, 3&4 for rifles. KR1 and 2 for stab resistance and SP1 and 2 for spike resistance. I would've thought that was just as much of a risk in the US!
Outside of correctional environments and the occaisional lunatic, nobody uses knives here in the states. Every bad guy has a gun here. A great many of the people a criminal will go up against - whether other criminals, police or ordinary citizens are also often or usually armed with guns as well.
The non hyperline version of the vest which is rated IIIA (same as this one) is just a little less slim fitting under clothing and is strike/slash resistant. It is called “concealable Multi-Threat Vest Level IIIA”
Yeah, right, much differences between HOSDB & NIJ, and much differences between the enviroments in UK & USA. The future trends of body armor should be multi threats protection, including anti bullets, anti stab, anti slash, anti cut, anti chop, etc protecting from both hot and cold weapons. Certainly, thickness and weight and softness shouldbe also important evaluating points.
The orignial carrier that came with the vest has a spot for a plate, but the new carrier is thinner and does not have the spot. You can still buy the other carrier to put the vest into and plate. I think their thinking was to sell their thinnest vest and carrier together and if you want to add plates then maybe you'll just have a separate rig for that.
How to know when a video is fresh? When the manufacture date of the product is just 10 days ago. :) I wish you had one of those high speed cameras, you know, the ones that do like 1,000 FPS.
Looks like you had the first vest assembly Taylored slightly! Honestly battle since I'm a bit of a bulky bugger too these are hard to pass Greenline Blackboot Scout standards, I'd write it : retry
I'd like to welcome back Taylor and Zavala. D.A. cleared these guys fom last's month shooting, tuned out to be a good shooting... if you know, you know
Excellent test, I have one question, I know hollow points spread open, would you get the same results with regular pointed training/practice ammo? Thank You.
Great video. By any chance do you know more or less the weight of the vest? I went on their web page, and I couldn't find any information. Thank you in advance.
So, this is NOT NIJ certified armour, then? The label on the panels doesn't show the NIJ certification mark, and the website says "built to IIIA standards" but no mention of certified. Why would anyone buy non-certified ballistic armour? Also, the Armor Express Razor XT IIIA is the same thickness and is 0.84 psf compared to the Safe Lite 0.90 psf. The XT IIIA is also available in the ultra-concealable "hidden defender" carrier, which is far lower profile (if that's what you need for your job).
i have 3a + from safelife defense as im in security always keep it with me i have the external one ive been locking at the concealed version if they make hyperline for 3a+ i would get it
Damn… rip to anyone having to conceal under formal clothes. Even with a bulkier vest wearing hoodie/sweatshirt and a windbreaker makes any vest invisible
While I am so grateful for the video I wish people were more of a salesman. Is it fabric is it like fiberglass does it feel like a Tempur-Pedic mattress? Let us know you keep saying armor is it thinned out steel? Like sell us on it man
It's not the lightest. That belongs to Hardwire, which is more than 20% lighter at .68lb/ft2 vs Hyperline .9lb/ft2. Back up from the camera and actually move, that vest is still visible. I sent my Hyperline back. It was stiff as hell even after "break in".
Well you might not have to worry about the bullet going through. You going to have to worry about internal bleeding. What I saw on the back on the vest was damage from the bullets going into it. So you going to feel ever single impact from being shot and that's just 9mm so the mean if the bad guy has 40 s&w 45 acp 5.7 mm 357 Sig 357 Mag. Your toast and probably going to be heading to the hospital with critical injuries that can cause death. I wouldn't trust my life with this vest and I don't think no one else should. The point of a vest is supposed to limited the amount of injuries that can causes death and this not it. If you're any type of armed Officer please don't wear this. Safe life have better stuff out there plus most people carry knives or rifles these days get a vest that protect you from those threats including 7x62 which is a AK round which most bad guys is carrying these days
@@kenofken9458 that's the reason why I would not wear level 3A body armor especially if I can't put a plate into it. Just because it meets NIJ performance doesn't mean it works. Because they have passed some body armor that was straight trash. I said what I saw in this video and clearly I can see it's trash.
So tired of reading these comments from people that don't own or wear a vest. You don't have knowledge to what you're talking about in comparison to other soft body armor. talk talk talk talk talk
After seeing your video I put in two weeks of researching different companies. You sold me on this. Made my purchase yesterday. Thanks!

You were issued a Level II vest? How are there agencies and companies still issuing Level II vests when all the criminals are using 9mm handguns?
@@grantgillum8768 Level II protects against 9mm and .357 magnum but nothing more powerful. Still, I don't (didn't) want to find out.

So in conclusion, it’s going to hurt like hell should you be the recipient but you’re not gonna die
That's true with any armor. That is why there are backface deformation standards, so you don't end up with life-threatening internal injuries.

It's super obvious. I've been wearing it for work for over a month. Don't get this hoping to blend in.
Lol yes it is still super obvious 😂

I always thought that it would be puncture resistant, guess not 😢
Don't Know, someone should make a video about it's stab resistance, because this vest has uhmwpe layers, and those are spike resistant to some degree

i forgot in my country you need a license to use bulletproof vest, because they will think you are a criminal for some reason
Seems like the carrier have a zipper to open the place where you put the plates, it would be nice if they make something like that for the level 3+

Just wanted to let you know that each time I've been on your website, a big "error code" comes up. They are censoring your website
Same
I think it's the specific tiny url creator being used as the headlines talk about the domain being a risk, not the link specifically.
"They are censoring your website" or his website just fucking sucks lol😂😂😂
Pretty amazing, but I do have a question. Will this stop a stabbing with a sharp knife ?
No, it's advertised as not stab proof.

Off topic, but we need some zipper hoodies in the merch store 😎
Is this any different from the first round of hyperline that shipped last year?

Love your duty pistol I like the Walther my pocket carry the PPS I'm looking to get a Walter tactical PDP
The schools need to be made aware. During training, students aren't allowed to grab their pack packs.

This is just a 3A vest is there any trama pads in this thing or can I add trauma pads
