This was the best of the "Lethal Weapon" movies for the action, story line, and camaraderie between the actors. Excellent George Harrison tune just tops it off.
I totally agree! I don't even think this song charted on radio, if it did it certainly was'nt very high. It is just a great song. You can catch Tom Petty's sweet sense of humor[sic] in the lyrics too. Awesome song! Peace, M.A.
I absolutely adore this song It was featured at the end of lethal weapon 2 Great end to such a fantastic movie 🎬 🎞 George Harrison thanks for all the wonderful music you gave us in this world 🌎 And being a member of the worlds most famous band, the fab four The beatles
Man he could do it all just great vocal & slide guitar. This song has such a catchy melody and sort of tongue in cheek lyrics, Tom Petty helped him write the words for this song and you can tell those two guys used cut up together. They both had that dry sense of humor. I loved hearing Petty tell his George stories. R.I.P. to them both. I hope they're in heaven havin a blast still. Peace, M.A.
One of my favourite songs of all time, I love the song, I love the films, I love the actors about all. This was my childhood.... these films I can watch every single time.... I miss this time, in the new one films, the 80´s was the best time for music and film, so much happiness and joy. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 80´s ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Love the song, love the movie!!! The chemistry that these guys had has been difficult for other cop buddy movie actors to touch. I can always return to Riggs and Murtaugh for that nostalgic, manly-buddy magic that only two guys can have in a film!
Already being a Beatles fan as a young kid... I remember watching this movie when it came out. At the end credits that amazing guitar kicked in, that's when I discovered George Harrison's solo career and loved his music ever since. RIEP 🙏
This movie is so awesome and George Harrison is my fave singer, so when "Cheer Down" suddenly started playing in the ending scene I was jumping up and down!
At the end, I'm always yelling hurry! Hurry hurry Murtaugh, they love each other so much and I love them! Great video, made me so happy! G. Harrison was the most underrated member if the GOAT Beatles. Thank you.
They have been playing the series on tv again...always a classic! I heard this song at the end and always wondered who it was. I was excited to see it was Harrison..Love all his work. To find out it was a Collab from Harrison, Petty, Clapton...🤯🤯🤯 just awesome. This should have been a #1 hit for weeks...
I loved this song as I have literally loved everything the Beatles ever touched. Imo the GOAT now and forever, greatest harmony, melodies, lyrics etc. It's hard to wrap my head around the fact that they found each other. This song is so great and simple like most of everything they all did, tom pretty contributing just made it even more amazing. Ty for the post, and ty to my boomer parents who had me dancing in my diapers to all of them then, and for the rest of my life. ❤❤❤
La mejor saga policiaca de la Historia del Cine. ¡Amo a esa pareja! ¡Cómo disfrute mi infancia y mi adolescencia con ellas! Y ese temazo musical es bestial. ¡Arma Letal, para siempre!
don't care what you haters want to say about gibson, unless you were alive when this classic came out and saw it first hand, please say nothing. cos this shit was going on!!!
A. Barnard Let's kiss each other before they arrive! 😂 This is a replica of thunder, one of those little things that gives the film an extra flavor. The fans are just waiting for that. If those funny little phrases weren't there, they'd be sorry. A bit like in a symphonic orchestra, when there is the little bit of triange. It's almost nothing to tell the truth, but if this famous triangle was no longer there, music lovers would notice it. The lines in this film are the same. 😊
oh man.....thank you thank you thank you!! I caught the tail end of this song a the other night coming home and racked my brain trying to figure out where I had heard it before. I never understood why this song was never a smash hit as it was just as good (if not better) than what Harrison had released with the Traveling Wilbury's
Never knew the name of the actor who played Pieter (Derrick O'Connor), thanks. Didn't realize he was Irish, his South African accent was so good I thought he was a native speaker. Joss Ackland was also great in The Hunt for Red October.
I remember when this movie ended, on the deck of the Alba Varden, money showering, "I can see..." and I slowly turned to my father, and asked skeptically, "Is that George Harrison...?" Sat through the credits...yep, with a couple other Wilburys in tow. Add Knockin on Heaven's Door, and you had what was then all four...
Fun fact: the ending of Lethal Weapon 2 originally had Riggs die in Murtaugh's arms. This didn't sit well with test screenings so they went back and recorded a few lines of the two joking to dub over the final shot, however they didn't reshoot it, so when this song starts to play and the camera zooms out on Murtaugh holding Riggs as they both laugh you can clearly see Riggs is utterly lifeless.
FUN FACT #2: When they were filming 'LETHAL WEAPON 2' ... we were filming a little cop-killer thriller I wrote called, 'THE BANKER' (1989) and we could see the Dick Donner set about 3 miles up the beach (Riggs' Trailer Scene Attacked Scene) ... ... whilst we were shooting a simple scene with Bob Forster and Shanna Reed. The midnight snack for the LW2 cast & crew was (or so I was told later) Crab, Lobster and the like. Ours -- was Pizza. It helps to have a lobster budget. D.A.
I read somewhere and I don't remember how long ago that the Lethal Weapon movies were supposed to end with the second with the death of Riggs. From a fan's perspective, I am glad they made more movies.
LW 1 & 2. Maybe 2 of the best "buddy-cop action films " ever made. They did so much RIGHT. Well thought through script. Everyting shat should DID come together WELL. e.g. chemistry on screen between the 2 main characters, an unpredictable story, proper pacing of the action, where to add cmededy and where NOT....they smartly had us convinced at the end of LW2 "riggs" was drying....we accepted it...then he wakes up...and we were all happy again and got our "happy ending" for a good film. They also felt itwa important to have one of the main characters use a revolver. A detail missed. To say revolvers were still remevant ...in the 80's (a sthey still are today actualy in 2024). It's a tried and true handgun platform. An not ever every charater automatic weapons like every other action film....LW 1 & 2 were "a good time"....back when people went to the threaters...heh...
This was a great Underrated George Harrison song ,it should have been promoted properly and been a hit.
Lethal Weapon 2, the best of the series..
George Harrison is the greatest guitarist in the human history ever walked on earth...God bless ,,rest peace my Master....
Imagine if he had still been around and be given beginner guitar lessons one on one
GIVE PEACE A CHANCE
Yesssss
This was the best of the "Lethal Weapon" movies for the action, story line, and camaraderie between the actors. Excellent George Harrison tune just tops it off.
the best cop buddy series of all time
I refuse to watch the Damon Wayans abortion of a tv version.
Agreed
One of George's finest songs...that guitar was literally crying...❤️
One of the most criminally underrated film songs of all time.
I totally agree! I don't even think this song charted on radio, if it did it certainly was'nt very high. It is just a great song. You can catch Tom Petty's sweet sense of humor[sic] in the lyrics too. Awesome song! Peace, M.A.
Damn I miss the 80’s 😢
We all do...
ladies and gentlemen, George Harrison. Wasn't he awesome?
Yeah?
The most underrated Beatle.
Very awesome and beautiful song
Amen!
@@michaelangelo2739 the guitar solo at the end is stunning.
George Harrison was a GOD with a guitar. Cheer Down's solo is probably the best ever. 🖖🙂❤
Check his solo on Belinda Carlisle's 'Leave a Light On' for another contender for his best solo.
*god of slide guitar
not of finger picking
I used to watch this movie just to hear "Cheer Down" at the end!!
Me too 😂
No better Duo than Riggs & Murtaugh. Loved these back in the 80's and still love them now!
Love the movie
Love the song
Miss those days
I liked them all, but the second Lethal Weapon always was my personal favorite. So many good movies were made in the 80s and 90s.

1989 great year for music and to be an 80s kid 👌 👍
George Harrison played the hell out of that guitar at the end
Man he could do it all just great vocal & slide guitar.
