  • Mona Caron’s (@mona.caron) artwork goes beyond mere aesthetics; it delves into the profound connection between plants and their surroundings.
Each mural is a site-specific tribute, intricately weaving together the plant's inherent qualities with the social context of the artwork. By evoking their medicinal, nutritive, or ritualistic powers, she shines a light on the hidden wonders of these humble roadside weeds and wild plants.
For this year's Mumbai Urban Art Festival, Mona has embarked on a new mural project at Senapati Bapat Marg in Lower Parel. Drawing inspiration from indigenous plants like kurdu, takla, chhota kalpa, and kantakari.
By showcasing their resilience and inherent qualities, she encourages us to appreciate the beauty and significance of these seemingly ordinary plants that coexist with us in urban environments.
This Project was made possible with the support of Prohelvetia (@prohelvetia_newdelhi ) and MHADA
