I am only 2 months into my study, but I have followed ALL of your videos to fill in while my class in on hiatus, and GOOD LORD you are so easy to follow, thorough, and precise. And not boring either. Please keep making more when you can! I'd love to see a tutorial on a bypass ring with some prong settings. Thank you so much for all your work!

Hi Jack and students. I am looking into paying for some lessons using Rhino, for jewelry design. I am looking at other instructors as well.
My experience is as a CAD modeler for the Plastic Injection Mold industry. I have been using Cadkey for about 30 years. I have an opportunity to get out of the mold business and into the jewelry design business. Jack, please tell me why you are the guy for me. I do like the way that you tend to not just rely on visuals only. I like to know the angles that I am rotating, not just always free-floating things. Should I lighten up on this visual thing?

Hi Scott. Happy to have a chat and see if I can help your shift in professional practice.
I've worked a bit in industrial design so probably understand where you're coming from a little.
The hardest thing you'll probably find is not necessarily the CAD side of things, given your previous experience, but Jewellery manufacturing techniques, processes and tolerances.
Drop me an email to jack@jackrow.com and we'll arrange a time to have an informal chat.

Thank you, how did you get the rendering diamonds to look so good?

Just a simple environment map from a photo of a diamond. Maybe worth me doing a short how-to video?

@@jtrdesign-practicalrhinoje9669 thanks for responding. I found a free plugin for rhino it’s like free gems or something. You can click a toolbar and it’ll ask you which type of diamond and size you want. Also has linear pave and some other cool freebies like metals

Could be for many reasons. As long as individual settings intersect and have no naked edges, it should be fine.
