Yeah it's not that hard to get a lot out of Rodman he's a faucet turn on he'll tell you everything but she also gets a lot out of Larry Bird now that's challenging feet right there that's just the ones I know of but she's one of the best.
I feel like he wears the shades because he's an emotional person and he knows there's a chance he can start crying at any moment. I am by no means knocking him for that, I commend him for it. Dennis is a very honest person and there always seems to be a lot weighing on his mind.
Exactly that’s what I thought, I saw an interview when Dennis got emotional, and the interviewer saw it in his eyes and started attacking him, he couldn’t hold it anymore and left.

He was the only member of the team who would tell the tour bus to make a stop at a gym, he'd get out by himself, work out for hours before or after a match, and walk home. He put in a ton of hours studying tapes, studying his teammate's tendencies and their shooting technique to see where the ball would end up after they missed, etc. Yes he was naturally an athletic freak, partying and doing drugs and playing in the NBA the next day on 2 hours of sleep, but he also worked hard.

I don’t mean no disrespect but why is it I always see people promoting therapy or treatment? It seems to be a trend nowadays. Nobody has anybody l in their family or a close friend that you trust that you can vent to? You will pay a stranger to listen to you and let’s be honest probably really doesn’t really care about youor your problem but you are paying him or her so they will pretend to care for as long as you are here in my office/place of practice. My late Grandmother was my counselor/therapy couch whenever I had things going on I couldn’t deal with in a sensible matter and she didn’t charge me nothing besides my love respect and all the hugs she could handle.

I was raised by my mother, never met my father since he lived in another country, but one thing I’m certain, I am in no way missing him or being traumatized by his absence, because bless my mother, she was always there for my sister and I, poor woman had to do it all by herself and we never missed anything in life because she made sure we didn’t. That’s a real strong woman right there, is easy to skip on your parental duties, anyone can procreate, but is hard to be a father or a mother, and sometimes is better when these people aren’t actually there, I am glad my father wasn’t there because he was not a nice person at all. My mother raised my sister and I to be really humble and grateful people, my sister is a radiologist and I’m a nurse, and my mother went from being a cleaning lady to a professional interpreter, so you know what?!? I think we are good man, I don’t think we would have been this good if my deadbeat father was there, same for Roadman, the man is a NBA legend, would he have been that if his father was around ?!? Pretty amazing story to go from being homeless and 5'7" to somehow growing to 6'8" and then making the NBA. Shame on his father and all men everywhere who abandon their kids like that. He could have had a completely different experience growing up with a father who stuck around and took care of him and his family. @@roproofficial4456 do some research on why it's important to have skin to skin contact with your child out the womb , I can't remember the article so you are just gonna have to look for it but studies show that if you have a baby and never hold it unless you are feeding them , and the child never gets a hug or some type of comfort that 9/10 the child will be emotionally deficient..they won't know how to love or like because it never happened to them ..they won't know how to hug or more so understand the need/concept of hugs ..they've never known such comfort so it's virtually impossible for them to give that comfort ...i hope I explained it in a way you understand . The article will explain it better I could only give like the jist of it lol ..its like when someone gets kidnapped and they are beaten and tortured for a couple years ..say when you find them that you try to hug them or hold their hand and they jump away, get scared or just plain refuse human contact for a couple days ..even though they had years before getting kidnapped , the years of never getting any comfort took a toll on their brains concept of comfort..the brain is ALWAYS learning and adjusting, molding to your experiences and actions ...he never got hugged as a kid or was told "I love you" so the whole concept is foreign to him , that's why he longs for it

We've got a lot in common, you and I, Dennis. I had no mother, and dad worked from sunup to sundown almost every day... and was emotionally damaged and distant when he wasn't punishing me. I too lived mostly alone until 6 or 7 at night, with no support other than the clothes on my back and a roof over my head. I always wondered what it would be like to have the love and support of a mother. You're not alone Dennis.
Not to mention; no hugs in my home (me and dad alone). I became a late bloomer in sports too. In my 20's I was told by a former pro football player that I played with that he was going to get me a tryout with his former Hawaii college coach. And later a team of basketball players at Fullerton College did their best to get me on their college team. I was MVP of the track team with all the jumping records in high school but it didn't lead to anything. I wasn't experienced enough in basketball (my love) or football. But I too changed the game when I entered... by my shear hustle and athleticism. You're my black brother from another mother... huh?
I had the unbelievable pleasure of actually meeting Dennis in Vegas in '11 and let me tell you the guy was cool and as down to earth as they come. But what was really interesting about that encounter was how much he love's MJ and Scottie. I mean when he started talking about them his face lit up and you could tell in his mind he was reliving those moment's of playing with them. I was only around him for about 30-45 minutes but in that brief time you can tell he was a really good guy.
It's endearing seeing his dynamic with them. It's great that Michael and Scottie came to accept Dennis as a teammate (and hopefully as a person) considering how much they still hate Isiah and The Pistons 😆😆.
Jackie thank you for allowing Dennis to bear what he needed to. I have seen in the interviews he has wanted to release the tears and the interviewer did not have the capacity to allow it. You did and it was a very healing for him to express it. Many can learn from Dennis open vulnerability and we can have more understanding of how Trauma can have such an impact on the way we love ourselves and show ourselves out in the world. Thank you Dennis, for being so courageous in sharing your Truth with the world.

It’s sad when you think about it. Dennis grew up practically without a parental figure. That’s tough! As a player, unquestionably, he probably was the hardest working basketball player to ever play in the NBA. He just needed direction and he didn’t have that growing up.

I feel the need to state this from my experiences: First off, I think this is going to be an AWESOME documentary. Secondly, as a person who grew up in the projects, didn't have a father that raised me because he left my mother when I was a baby, a mother was VERY hard-nosed and old school and living in a very toxic and rough environment, I realized early on in life that if I wanted to make a change I had to do it. Once I started having kids (I have four teenage sons), I realized that I needed to make sure that they NEVER experienced what I experienced as a child. My mother wasn't a hugging mother either, but I knew she loved me through her actions. My dad didn't come into my life until I was about 9 years old. Then, he would pop in and out, more out than in. To this day, I have 24 years in the military (joined when I was an E-1 and promotable to O-5 now), did 19 years of civilian law enforcement and finished up my second Master's a few months ago. I am not stating this to brag or boast, I state this because I believed in myself (and in other sources) and knew and know that I MUST ensure that my kids, my family, and my friends have a good example in what real man is supposed to do and how a man is supposed to condone himself. There is ALWAYS something that we can do to better ourselves. It's NEVER over, Mr. Rodman. It's up to YOU to make the change; no one else can do this for you, Sir. If you are ready to be the man, the husband, the boyfriend, the father, the brother, the friend that YOU KNOW you need to be. It's all on you, brother. I wish you well and Godspeed...

Dennis has always been in my top five NBA players due to his 100percent effort any time he was on the court! He seemed to be one of the only players who played for the game and for the fans. He's always talked about people spending their hard money to watch the game and he wanted them to get their money's worth. I hope he's aware that his passion for the game, his emotion, and his love for people is greatly appreciated by his fans.

It's very hard to show affection to people especially your kids if you were never shown those feelings as a kid. A lot of us can relate.

Pretty amazing story to go from being homeless and 5'7" to somehow growing to 6'8" and then making the NBA. Shame on his father and all men everywhere who abandon their kids like that. He could have had a completely different experience growing up with a father who stuck around and took care of him and his family. There's not much worse in life than a parent who abandons their children.

He gets emotional even knowing that they do give consent but he can't bring himself to hug them since he thinks it's like lying to himself that he's the dad he wishes he had growing up
@@roproofficial4456 do some research on why it's important to have skin to skin contact with your child out the womb , I can't remember the article so you are just gonna have to look for it but studies show that if you have a baby and never hold it unless you are feeding them , and the child never gets a hug or some type of comfort that 9/10 the child will be emotionally deficient..they won't know how to love or like because it never happened to them ..they won't know how to hug or more so understand the need/concept of hugs ..they've never known such comfort so it's virtually impossible for them to give that comfort ...i hope I explained it in a way you understand . The article will explain it better I could only give like the jist of it lol ..its like when someone gets kidnapped and they are beaten and tortured for a couple years ..say when you find them that you try to hug them or hold their hand and they jump away, get scared or just plain refuse human contact for a couple days ..even though they had years before getting kidnapped , the years of never getting any comfort took a toll on their brains concept of comfort..the brain is ALWAYS learning and adjusting, molding to your experiences and actions ...he never got hugged as a kid or was told "I love you" so the whole concept is foreign to him , that's why he longs for it

We've got a lot in common, you and I, Dennis. I had no mother, and dad worked from sunup to sundown almost every day... and was emotionally damaged and distant when he wasn't punishing me. I too lived mostly alone until 6 or 7 at night, with no support other than the clothes on my back and a roof over my head. I always wondered what it would be like to have the love and support of a mother. You're not alone Dennis.
Not to mention; no hugs in my home (me and dad alone). I became a late bloomer in sports too. In my 20's I was told by a former pro football player that I played with that he was going to get me a tryout with his former Hawaii college coach. And later a team of basketball players at Fullerton College did their best to get me on their college team. I was MVP of the track team with all the jumping records in high school but it didn't lead to anything. I wasn't experienced enough in basketball (my love) or football. But I too changed the game when I entered... by my shear hustle and athleticism.

I had the unbelievable pleasure of actually meeting Dennis in Vegas in '11 and let me tell you the guy was cool and as down to earth as they come. But what was really interesting about that encounter was how much he love's MJ and Scottie. I mean when he started talking about them his face lit up and you could tell in his mind he was reliving those moment's of playing with them. I was only around him for about 30-45 minutes but in that brief time you can tell he was a really good guy.
It's endearing seeing his dynamic with them. It's great that Michael and Scottie came to accept Dennis as a teammate (and hopefully as a person) considering how much they still hate Isiah and The Pistons 😆😆.

It’s sad when you think about it. Dennis grew up practically without a parental figure. That’s tough! As a player, unquestionably, he probably was the hardest working basketball player to ever play in the NBA. He just needed direction and he didn’t have that growing up.

I feel the need to state this from my experiences: First off, I think this is going to be an AWESOME documentary. Secondly, as a person who grew up in the projects, didn't have a father that raised me because he left my mother when I was a baby, a mother was VERY hard-nosed and old school and living in a very toxic and rough environment, I realized early on in life that if I wanted to make a change I had to do it. Once I started having kids (I have four teenage sons), I realized that I needed to make sure that they NEVER experienced what I experienced as a child. My mother wasn't a hugging mother either, but I knew she loved me through her actions. My dad didn't come into my life until I was about 9 years old. Then, he would pop in and out, more out than in.
To this day, I have 24 years in the military (joined when I was an E-1 and promotable to O-5 now), did 19 years of civilian law enforcement and finished up my second Master's a few months ago. I am not stating this to brag or boast, I state this because I believed in myself (and in other sources) and knew and know that I MUST ensure that my kids, my family, and my friends have a good example in what real man is supposed to do and how a man is supposed to condone himself.
There is ALWAYS something that we can do to better ourselves. It's NEVER over, Mr. Rodman. It's up to YOU to make the change; no one else can do this for you, Sir. If you are ready to be the man, the husband, the boyfriend, the father, the brother, the friend that YOU KNOW you need to be. It's all on you, brother. I wish you well and Godspeed...
As a teenager myself, reading this really inspired me to one day, hopefully, become an example to my kids like you did sir. Thank you for sharing this.
Sometimes having a father is worse then not having one because your idea of a father never gets shattered with truth. You decided to make a change in your life and that was to go in to the army? He was a shooting star for a time from a horrible beginning. He wears his heart on his sleeve and just wanted to be loved.

I was like your mother and worked 3 jobs and was not able to be there physically for my sons and on my only day off I was too tired. But everything I did was because I loved my sons. You were and are loved. I saw the Oprah interview and you got emotional when you talked about your son. YOU ARE A GREAT FATHER AND YOU HAVE DONE THE BEST THAT YOU CAN!

Dennis has always been in my top five NBA players due to his 100percent effort any time he was on the court! He seemed to be one of the only players who played for the game and for the fans. He's always talked about people spending their hard money to watch the game and he wanted them to get their money's worth. I hope he's aware that his passion for the game, his emotion, and his love for people is greatly appreciated by his fans.
