any reason you did 19mm over the 17mm option they offer? I have some on my car and the nuts rusted on and i have to get them torched off want to redo this and avoid that from happening. if you have any tips that would be awesome
@@GearsAndGains1 same it was a nightmare but I miss the connivence of the studs. I think titanium versions while more expensive won’t rust like normal ones
@@Cmatt1299 yea titanium might not rust. I also dislike how far these stick out especially in the rear. I swapped back to the oem wheel bolts because of the issues I had
Always thought about doing this especially because I drift my 340. Would make changing the wheels a lot easier. Would these withstand that kind of force with constant drifting and weight shift.
I had these on my Supra and within a year they rusted like crazy. Tried another set on my next car and the same thing happened. First lug nut screw on, the whole paint stripped. Not a fan personally
Hey kern I know this isn’t related to this video but I have a f30 340i with MHD tune and the MHD CAN analyzer kit. When I select which tune to run I’ve just been keeping it on 91oct since that’s all I have access to in California, but can I run the 93, or 95oct tunes since I’m running around an e50 mix. Just didn’t know if the higher octane in the ethanol could make up for that difference, thanks!
@@kern417 i run the multi map so I can run flex fuel, I’m always running around e40-e50 but I just went stage 2 plus and the lowest map they have is 93oct I’m on 91 with the e mix- would you say I’m safe to run the 93 oct map with that mix? Thanks for your input - greatly appreciated
@kern417 Hi. Today i was just for short ride in my m240i. And comeback home and in mhd app i just scan for codes. There was 0 active codes but 1 shadow codes 1F052F acceleration reduction. I clear it and go for ride scan again and no codes. Can you tell me what it can be ? Thanks
@@kern417 no issue just this code. And i think my car was little bit slower (m240i manual) But it was hot outside and i was driving in sport+ mode and i think traction was fighting with the grip. Can it be this ? After turn the car of and on again code didnt come back. And car drive fine.
If it's a Shadow code then i wouldn't worry unless something was actually wrong. Probably the car just freaked out for a second then figured itself out.
got those for my 240, glad they got the kern stamp of approval
Also curious why you went from 17mm to 19mm, since they offer 17mm conical nuts for their studs? J/w, looks dope either way.

These are amazing but recently had to remove because after a year and a half they rusted and basically fused the lug nut to the threads.
Same with mine! I had to buy a special stud extractor tool because the stud was so corroded it wouldn’t come off

😂
Maybe you shoulda put anti-seize on it before installing
no problem with wheel bolts for me because my wheels just rust weld themselves to the hub 😎

Yep, they are hardened and treated for maximum strength.

the nature of hardened hardware is to get some surface rust. it washes/scrubs off.

no. run the ethanol tune designed for the mix you're running, or run the flex fuel map so it'll automatically adjust.

@@LiL-Fry you can run ethanol mixes but if you want to run 91 pump gas then i would flash the standard stage 2 91 oct map
I tried this but can’t find any M14x1.25 lug nuts that are thin enough to fit my wheels (tuner style thin)
