I bought a house from the Detroit Land Bank Authority. It was a pure nightmare. Would Not recommend to the younger generation who do not know what they are doing.
This beautiful home will probably end up being torn down if she doesn’t fix it up. That’s the reality. It needs $500,000 of work. It’ll cost thousands for the city to demolish. Nothing will replace it. It’ll just be an empty lot in the middle of what used to be one of the most historic neighborhoods in Detroit.
she won - the land bank never filed their claim to the deed - when they took over for 2 plus years - so that allowed the person who sold her the home to still have the deed registered in their name - so she was stung - due to their not following their own rules - she rightly retained possession of the home
