    I got the 1.5 Ah battery with my first Bauer drill package. It's not a great battery for the drill (or pretty much most of the rest of the line) but works incredibly well for their different flashlights and the glue gun; so it's not _totally_ worthless. I've since added the 3 and 5 Ah batteries for use with the rest of our tools (chainsaws, drills, hedge trimmer, weed trimmer, blowers, vacuum, inflator, fan, battery inverter).
    Thanks to Jeff at The Den of Tools for getting me started with Bauer 20v cordless tools, and than you for this comparison on the different batteries. =)

      I wish I had gotten one earlier. Had the 1.5 Ah and 3 Ah batteries on hand when we finally added both of the chainsaws to clear out some brush at the end of the driveway and around the homestead. The 1.5 just couldn't cut it (no pun intended). Wound up heading back into town and splurging on the 5 Ah battery. Really sped up our work that day and has made similar jobs around here _so_ much easier. The 1.5's fine for flashlights and the glue gun; just not for anything that requires actual effort to accomplish. =)

    • @Charliemmafan
      @Charliemmafan 6 місяців тому +1

      @@jamesanthony8438 Yeah I use my single 1.5ah battery on the torch light and it works great for that because it's really small and light and I do carry that light around sometimes but for difficult jobs using drills, saws, the tire inflator or whatever I use the 5ah batteries now usually and my single 8ah battery and I use the 3ah batteries that I have for my other Bauer flash lights usually that I don't carry around as much because the 3ah ones are still kinda big and pretty heavy and I use the 3ah batteries to charge things also with the Bauer USB charger adapter but I save the bigger and better more expensive batteries like the 5's and up for the more major Bauer power tools that need the extra power plus more run time.

  • @Charliemmafan
    @Charliemmafan 10 місяців тому

    I didn't really believe that the bigger batteries had more power compared to the smaller batteries until I used the same tools with the different batteries and there's definitely a major difference but I have one of the smallest batteries and a few of the 3 and 5's and just 1 8ah right now and most likely I will get 1 12ah just to have it but I already have enough I think to power everything that I have and I think the 20 V is plenty power for just about everything and the saws have a decent amount of power even though 40 V or 80 V would be better but the weed eater to me isn't really powerful enough to cut thick weeds with 20 V so you need 40 V or really 80 V to chop up thick weeds using an electric battery operated string trimmer!

      Yeah, the timed tests were pretty telling.

  • @Charliemmafan

    You can charge the 8 ah battery on the slowest charger man or I have anyways I believe just like you can charge any of the Bauer batteries on any of the Bauer 20 v chargers but some people say it doesn't work for them with this big battery while other people say that it does work but the higher amp hour chargers will charge it up a lot faster especially if you drain it deeper it'll take a really long time to charge on the weakest charger or potentially not charge it but the den of tools says that if you use the faster chargers it will wear out your battery's quicker potentially but I have that black rapid charger, the red rapid plus charger and the double charger but now they have a charger that will charge 6 batteries one at a time back to back but I don't think that charger is really necessary but I do use the red rapid plus charger the most though unless I need to charge 2 up then I use the double charger!

    I still don't understand why your batteries are 20V when the same company sells 18V batteries over here. The difference in speed is interesting, I was not expecting that

    • @BuildALotAcres
      @BuildALotAcres  Рік тому +5

      If you want my honest opinion Joseph, here it is. I believe its marketing hype. I don't think there is any real difference between an 18v and 20v power tool. I think it's all in how they measure (and advertise) the voltage. Maximum/initial (20v) vs nominal (18v). Americans love bigger and more power. 20v likely sounds than 18v(and sells) better. For the record they all used to be 18v here in the states as well not long ago.

    What a great informative video! One question I have had as a Bauer customer is, is there a weight difference between the 3 and 5 amp hour batteries? I know they are the same physical size. If they are the same way it makes the three amp hour battery hard to justify considering it's barely cheaper. Thanks!

    • @BuildALotAcres
      @BuildALotAcres  Рік тому +1

      Thank you very much. I'm not sure on the weight. I would guess that there is a negligible difference between the two. Having all four batteries, I do feel that with all factors considered the 5AH is the best overall choice.

      I think the 5 might be the best balance of power, weight, price and ability. It’s close to the big 8 in power. Probably my go to size for most jobs.

    • @Charliemmafan
      @Charliemmafan 4 місяці тому

      Yeah I think the 5ah size is the best overall also because the 1.5 is good for like the flashlights because it's really light and the flashlights that don't use a lot of lumens work great in the smaller lighter batterirs but I think the 5ah is the best overall and for DIY people I think all they need really is like 4 of the 5ah batteries just using 1 or 2 on any given small job while they have 1 or 2 charging potentially with the double highest output charger unless you're gonna be doing a lot of work then you might need more batteries or the bigger sizez but I think the 5ah is a lot better than the 3ah because it's literally only like $8 more right now at $68 compared to $60 for the 3ah and it's basically the same size case and weight because I can't really tell the difference in the weight at all and the case is the exact same but it has a lot more run time and a decent amount more power than the 3ah which is okay but I think the 5ah is the best all around and I do use my 1 8ah battery but it is pretty big and heavy and I still haven't got the 12ah yet because I'm waiting for the price to go down to like $120 instead of $136 and then I'll get it when a 20% coupon comes out or if you can get a good free tool with it whenever that might happen just because I don't really need it but I just want to have 1 12ah to compare them all like you do and maybe if you get 1 of them you can make another video comparing all the sizes from the 1.5ah to the 3ah to the 5ah to the 8ah and the 12ah also but good stuff man @@BuildALotAcres
