One important detail you didn’t mention was whether this track was intended for a full band mix or just gtr/vocal. That would make a big difference in what to listen for.
I assumed this was for only guitar and vocal when he didn’t use the high pass filter on the mics. Unless one portion of the song is gtr/vox and one portion is with a full band.
I sometimes record my D28 with a Shure SM81 and was wondering if you've ever used an SM81? Nice comparison video, thanks for bringing some acoustic guitar micing stuff to my attention!
I'll check this out as sure it will be useful but was hoping it would covering monitoring as I find that the raw gtr sound in the room is louder than I can get the headphones so I can't get the guitar to sit in a track whilst I am tracking - hopefully there is a way thank you
Hello Sir, Please tell me..Can I use the old version zip backup of logic pro x in other devices.....without having same apple id across all devices... On how many Macs We can use the backup of purchased logic pro ?
It appears that your XY mics are both balanced in the middle (so stereo recording, but mono output). Would you consider panning the XY's to add some stereo depth? It would that sound too off since they recorded quite different types of sound?

Really nice to hear the different takes on these mics and your perspective. Thank you for the great video. ✊🏼✨
Great comparison video, with a lot to be learned! I put on my headphones and closed my eyes to let my ears assess the difference 😉
Your moustache looks so cool and funny, I'm happy every time I see you in one of your videos :D
Thank you so much for doing this video.
Chris- thanks very interesting, lots of great info😀

How do you activate the option in Logic where you can switch the solo option from one track to another, and not applying to both?
Hold Option… 🙂
Cheers, was wondering the same thing!
@@Jah_Holmes thanks!

I almost still pan XY L-R(50%-75%) and it works.
