My parents emigrated there in the 60's from Italy. I was born in Cambridge in 1966 and lived there up to 1984. Though I now live in Rome , Cambridge is a part of who I am.
Fascinating.
You might be born in adden brooks hospital

Oh my God this is awesome. I wish I could turn back time in 1960 so I could live in Cambridge and live happily, but unfortunately I wasn't born in Cambridge. I was born in Amman and I love this beautiful and calm city and I hope to visit it and live there🤡💔💔💔
i miss this place.. had good memories there, it was a time of self growth. Cambridge will always have a special place in my heart :')
I'm fortunate to live nearby to Cambridge. I like visiting there.
Hello FRIEND greatting FROM INDONESIA

As a student?
I went to cambridge 8 months ago and it was very beautiful so gorgeous town I love to live here ❤️❤️❤️ I’ve got many fun memories and precious time. I met a lot of people from different countries I’m sure I’m going to visit here again one of the most beautiful and happiest city 🥰🥰🥰 I love england
England is really beautiful
Avigail Marcus I envy you haha

David Stuckey
Thank you, Yusuf.
Beautiful!
You have a "way of bringing viewers" there with you. Simply lovely.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Lived there 1986 to 96, loved this town because it was so cosmopolitan compared to where I was originally from.
I'm planning on a visit to see what Cambridge is like at night?
Beautiful masonry the craftmanship on those buildings are immaculate.
Went to school here in late 60's, The Leys. Great city and fab area to live. Must go back once more soon.
Great place to visit.
Thank you for this, me and my wife was lucky enough to live here during her master. So many wonderful memories.
Interesting place to live I would imagine?
Such a wonderful city of Cambridge
it's so strange and emotional to see it again throught a glass...♥️
Is a beautiful city Cambridge I miss it💜💙💚💛🧡❤
I'm hoping to go back there when this pandemic is over.
Hopefully 💜💙💚💛🧡❤
thank you for the video! so annoying those travel vloggers that just want to show themselves the whole video long... THIS is how a travel video should be! Thank you very much!
Many thanks for the comment.
Yes I agree with you 100%. But you cannot explain that to those people because they don't even understand the concept.. they put themselves in pretty much absolutely every scene.. over the top obnoxious ,in your face pure narcissism ... usually irritating music also... more and more of those channels are popping up and you cannot say anything negative at all because of the sycophants... in one channel the girl would always eat huge mouthfuls of food and it was grotesque to see such slob like Behavior and once you see it you cannot unsee it .
This is such a beautiful dreamy masterpiece.. it is real perfection.. thank you so much for this absolutely delightful video that is like a chunk of Heaven
Thank you.
Yes! This was very nicely done, with the video sequences mostly being geographically related to each other (not repeatedly cutting between different places as in many amateur videos) and no irritating commentary.
Watching this video gives a very accurate impression of what it is like to walk around in the centre of Cambridge.
What a lovely tranquil video about a lovely tranquil city ☺️ thank you ☺️
👍👍
I went there last week and shoot some videos, too

Lovely vid and nice music... this is tastefully done , thank you .
Thank you.
Cambridge is one of the most amazing places I have been too. Thank you for sharing this. 🤩👍
Hoping to re-visit in a few weeks and make another video.
i used to live in a suburban town. my mother and i would take a bus to cambridge on the weekends. we'd walk the same way all the time, making ice cream stops every now and then.
although i have a rough history with my mother, its the few times i remember fondly. even going there with my friends during the summer. or going for walks to the more nature parts on my own. im all the way up in scotland now.
but i do miss cambridge and even the town i lived in before for years.
this is so sad to watch and listen to nujabes at the same time. hope cambridge is doing okay.
Lovely city, brilliant video.
Thank you.
I was born in Cambridge Mill Road, 1948 then taken to Haverhill Suffolk, until i 3, then from there Nottingham where family lived.I only got to Cambridge 1 time I dont know it, but when i went back i was in awe only been to Suffolk Haverhill 1 time...Sandra
The video could get some additional colour but the music was brilliant! Thank you, Mr. Stuckey.
Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful filming. David you are the best filmmaker on UA-cam hands down!
Thank you very much. Try watching my Hertfordshire History videos?
I have seen them and yes they are outstanding. Thank you...look forward to any and all videos you post...
Cambridge is the best place for me, I lived there only for a year, but the best memory.

Excellent video and great music choice for it.
Thank you.
Thank you for this! I just got into the university!
Wonderful! I hope you have a great time there.
Beautiful
Nice background music am loving it
Can I get it please.. link in
Beautiful video ...
Thank you.
A nicely produced video, providing an attractive overview of this University city. I was an Oxford man myself, but visited reasonably frequently in the 1970/80`s. Sadly, and before Covid-19, the impact of tourist numbers were becoming a fairly serious issue for the movement of goods and services around the city.On a more positive note, Cambridge has developed many clever and innovative ways to improve bicycle use both in, and around the main centre. Well done :)
Thank you. I'm hoping to revisit Cambridge after the COVID crisis.
Cette ville est plutôt Zen. Quelle chance pour ses habitants
Fantastic video!
Thank you.
just stunning! great photography!
Thank you, Kitty.
thank you david stuckey
7:12 ...they 'except' most credit cards. I guess its cash only. :-D
Beautiful city ❤️
Yes indeed. We're hoping to go back in a couple of weeks.
just hoping to live there one day, doing my postdoc research at the cambridge uni ;)
Hi David, I love this video.. I see it is 1080p on the upload, but you filmed in 4k right? Is this a downscale in editing software? if so it's awesome quality.. please let me know as i'm trying to decide on getting this cam as an upgrade etc, thanks, j
Yes, I filmed in 4K with the Panasonic VXF990. I edited the video into 1080 to make it quicker to upload. It hasn't really degraded at all.
I love this camera and take it with me everywhere. You won't regret buying it. It also has a phenomenal zoom.
Yes being able to take the camera around with you Is one of the main things with this sort of cam david.. I used to have a panasonic hc-x800 3mos years ago, slipped nicely into a bag, nice and light etc.. but I'm sure going to get this model this coming week, I'll have to downgrade to 1080 as well for now.. I need to find the lowest spec for my budget windows laptop/pc that will power 4k editing.. but the cam is awesome and it's going to be bought this week! speak soon and thanks, regards, Jay
This is exactly what i was looking for...thank you
I shall thank you also.
i love every england people devid stuckey
Cambridge is not just a university its an art
It's a beautiful place.
Absolutely stunning, went for the Cambridge open day a few months ago, going to be applying. Shame about the amount of tourists though. It's becoming a sea of people, washing away the beauty.
I agree. I've recently returned from Italy and the number of tourists everywhere is depressing.
Yeah, I can imagine. You barely see anything local to the area due to globalisation and the perceived need for globalised corporations to dominate local areas so tourists feel comfortable. It's really depressing, it's eating away at the local culture until the world turns into one grey mass. The mere thought of it all makes me shiver.
@@harry6447 that's really a shame what you are saying.. I did not know any of this was going on here and I did wonder why it looked so crowded
Hi there, I'm a reporter at the Evening Standard and we are doing a piece on holiday destinations for the May bank holiday weekend. I was wondering if we could include some of your footage with credit? Thanks, Katie
Feel free.
How I miss this place. I somehow know I'll come back.
I'm sure you will one day?
Nice 🤩

Thank you for the visit. I'm French and I'm 36. I would like to live in Cambridge but my English isn't really good.
Your English seems quite good.
JG: Come to Cambridge. I will help you with your English, and you can help me with my French ??
Hi David, amazing video. What is the best way to contact you about using some of your footage for a charity documentary? Thank you so much
Go ahead, use whatever you like.
Did you shoot this with magic lantern or RAW video by any chance?
Raw video. Tripod-mounted Panasonic VXF990.
Hlo
Nice video
where are you from david stuckey
handheld / tripod?
Tripod.
Makes you realise how lucky you are when you live here
Believe it or not earlier tonight I heard a video we're somebody mentioned that the area is rather demonic which I thought was odd and then two other people chimed in saying they grew up there and that it's very oppressive and yet another person also said it was rather evil....? Believe it or not
Ya makes you feel really proud
Cambridge has become a tourist Hell-hole.
Yes you're right. I don't go there too often now as it's very difficult, and expensive to park. I parked my car in a village outside Cambridge and walked in.
That's a shame I never got to see it years ago when I was in England for a quick visit.. it seems like this is happening all over the globe that places are just becoming flooded with tourists.. I was looking at videos of a place at the edge of the sea in Bali called the Seven Temples and that also seems to be very crowded
Hey. This video is great. Can I please use some of the clips for a project I am working on?
Yeah, go ahead.
Thank you. Its very good quality. Much better than I would be able to get on my Gopro :-)
No problem.
@@arcadia449 wow that is very generous of you
Wonderful video - well done. Where is the place at 5:55 ??
It's close to the punting lake on Silver Street.
Thank you
Head toward cathedral from grand arcade, turn right, keep going down that road, left, then right by mini roundabout, keep going then park on left and right, it is the park on the right
Thanx - missed this
forever memory
Are you still active on this channel after nearly four years?
Yes I am.
Good. Nobody is holding the rectangular shape gadget.
This is fantastic. Thanks a lot. Is it possible to film the area where the Pink Floyd members were brought up or met?
I'm not sure where that is?
@@arcadia449 Sorry, I really don't know the area but I know the four members have lived there. Wish I knew the name of the neighborhood.
@@alejandramarquez235 I'll have to research that then?
@@arcadia449 No worries. There might not be information about that. Just thought it was known in Cambridge. Thanks anyway.
@@alejandramarquez235 I know they did play in Grantchester in the field opposite The Blue Ball pub ... only 2 miles from Cambridge ...
Can i use some of your footage?
Yes by all means.
i want go to england it my wish
what rae you doing david stuckey my brother
sobeaituful it is..........
Tourists turn everything into disneyland.
parrmik I know right, lived here my whole life and it’s nothing special, they make it out to look so fancy but some of the stuff I’ve seen on the streets cracks me up
I absolutely love Cambridge! It just has so much to see (and I personally would regard the city as special):
1) Home to the fourth oldest university in the world (year 1209) - therefore loads of Medieval/ Tudor or Baroque college buildings.
2) The iconic King’s College Chapel; the second largest chapel in the world with the largest collection of 16th century Renaissance glass anywhere. Not to mention exquisite fan vaulting and a painting by Rubens.
3) Other medieval religious buildings such as the (over 1000 year old) St Bene’t’s Church, St Mary the Great or the charming Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Cambridge.
4) So many pretty streets and buildings from 18th century shopping streets, to medieval cobbled alleys.
5) Punting on the river cam with scenic views of the “backs” of the colleges, plus bridges such as the Mathematical Bridge or the Bridge of Sighs (Cambridge).
6) Other great activities such as the Fitzwilliam Museum or the Botanical Gardens.
7) There are of course loads of other things to like about Cambridge also: great green spaces and good for shopping etc.
8) Another thing that I really appreciate about the city is that the modern architecture (for example outside the medieval centre, such as by the station) - has been revamped and it looks great; so much better than some cities in England (and the rest of Europe), that possess a great deal of cheaply constructed 50’s/ 60’s buildings sitting outside city centres. Plus of course Cambridge doesn’t just have the historical architecture in “one” place, for it covers a huge area and therefore loads of sections of the city are able to retain historical atmosphere and charm.
** Overall a fantastic city that we can all be proud of! Hopefully you can appreciate it a bit more now.
Tamara Carter I’m not saying it isn’t a nice place, and yes it does have history but it still has some weird stuff on the streets (like any other place does) I live here of course I appreciate it but just doesn’t seem that special to me because I’ve always lived here. It just isn’t the same to someone that has lived here there whole life, we have been around it, we can always go see it. It’s like when you go on holiday you do stuff locals don’t do because your a tourist, you don’t get to be there, do that stuff everyday, but to locals it will alway be there so you don’t feel the need to go to these places all the time.
That’s fine, I was just giving some examples as to why I view Cambridge as a great place.

Don't be so silly! My best friend works as a punter in Cambridge, the river isn't too deep to begin with and they have lots of training! In the two years his been working there it's been fine (touch wood) they rent out punts to the public do they may have been the unprofessional ones you saw in the video :)
You are right. The river in Cambridge is only two or three feet deep. Lots of people end up in the water anyway.
