As a life long Tekken fan, its really frustrating when i try to explain to people how much better this game would be if they just removed or toned down a lot of the scrub mechanics, just to be hit with "you're just bad bro bait it out" Ah yes, I'm bad for asking a game to remove comeback and panic mechanics that removes the momentum from the better player I could be the WORST player in the world, that response tells me I'm dealing with mentally deficient people And that response/mindset unfortunately has found its way to almost every Tekken player i talk to Maybe I just come from a time where a comeback was earned instead of the game playing itself I was hoping the devs would hear our criticism but unfortunately they will continue to double down And can you even blame them when majority of players would rather have a worse game just cuz they get to press more buttons and feel good Not to sound like im good cuz im IGHT at best, but i really find it hard to play this game because it requires you to think and play like a scrub, and i simply have more fun trying to read people and losing than synthetically forcing my way out of situations with 1 button Been really enjoying your last few videos bro nice stuff
I wanna be nice, but it really does sound like you struggle with the basics of a comeback mechanic and those have been in fighting games forever. Properly utilizing a comeback mechanic still requires execution, and T8 is no different in this regard. A much better player can both defend against a comeback mechanic and properly utilize it to secure a win. It really feels like you're stuck hating it instead of adapting it properly, which is why you see it as one dimensional.
the thing is there are so many panic moves like cancan or hopkicks or mattahorn so panic moves will always be there but i cannot lie i do dislike rage art and heat but i think it was better in t7
In a way, I can agree that it's "harder", but that is with a huge caveat. Prowess system, coupled with the hidden streak system and ones and dones will add up and for the average player, it will feel hard to climb. Take me for example, in today's session, I was at Bushin on my Xiaoyu, had some iffy games at the start because brain lag, oh well, and got demoted to Kishin, w/e, I'll get it back, then I woke up and started winning most of my matches, but I still got demoted all the way to Raijin and barely managed to claw my way up to Kishin. My losses were in a row, triggering the point penalty for losing 3 in a row, but because of all the ones and dones, I could barely chain 3 wins together for the bonus points, so despite winning more than I was losing, I was bleeding points because if I won, no rematch. Then add to it the prowess thingy, I'm Emperor on my main, so despite starting with Xiaoyu in Ruler, I wasn't fighting actual Ruler rank players, but players who are of similar, if not higher prowess. And for random Joe Shmoe, that's gonna be a huge difficulty spike when they reach TK for the first time and the prowess system fully kicks in and gets moved into Ranked 2.0. So yea, in a way it's harder, but it's not because the game is harder than prior titles, but because the system is garbage. Unless you play one of the "honest" characters, you can't afford to be slightly better than your competition, you're not gonna move up due to the system, you have to be much better than the rest, so for the average players, who aren't massively outskilling their opponents, the system will make it hard, but it's the system being designed in that way, not the game's balance.
I see that guy in my own biased I’m used to fighting at that level with many characters so my survival bias along with legacy skill plays apart. What I’m saying though for most rank would be a lot harder in older titles most people wouldn’t even be sniffing purple ranks let alone Tekken King.
@@TheChilledScrub I think the system also plays a part in why it's easier to get ranks. If memory serves, Tag 2 was a "fair" system, as in, you win and lose the same amount of points. In T7, up to Fujin rank, you need a winrate above 46% to climb to Fujin, because you won more than you lost, after Fujin, you won and lost the same. In T8 it's even worse. To get Fujin you do need about the same, around 46%, to get to Red ranks you only need around a 35% winrate iirc that Reddit thread correctly, as someone did the math. That means that a lot of bad players simply climb because of the system, armour, heat, rage arts, those don't even get factored in yet, and because so many bad players climb simply due to the system, then players who are slightly better will climb even higher than them, and so forth.
Ranked in T8 is literally designed to be a feel-good system for noobs. The whole game is designed for casuals. Special mode, heat smash, RA, win buttons/ the way strings track/force casino/pcrushes. Tekken 8 is literally rotting/dying in terms of competitive aspect. And it will only get worse sadly.
Not to mention a lot of content creators are sweeping it under the rug. Instead saying it’s ok if you enjoy the game. It’s just not as competitive as its predecessors.
lolol you have the foundation from previous tekkens and you spam that ranked is easy, from a technical point of view you shouldn't brag because after such experience you should reach lord of destruction, I agree that ranked is easier from part to part but you got a little carried away, you can't say something is easy when you have a few thousand hours of experience with the series duh
@@ZyletaSF4 it’s literally easier in every sense. Less of a grind. Less skill expression. More mashing supers. The point system is more forgiving. You can get demoted and immediately get a promotion chance then get boosted up if you win.
I can say it is easier cause I have the experience in legacy skill. Just because I’m good at something I’m humble enough to admit when something is easier.
I can tell you’ve never played the earlier one. Because buttons properties change so much. Everyone of these games feel so damn different. Not to mention the level of movement in each of them.
In this game Rank doesn’t even start until Warrior level because that’s when demotions become active.. I tell folks all the time that are/were struggling at Garyu or the Ruler Ranks than in older games they more than likely wouldn’t have made it past Vanquisher in T7 and probably brawler in Tag 2.
@@alhasanjasim7600I never got past Brawler in Tag 2 and Vindicator in 7……..On My Banned Account I was Mighty Ruler and on one of my Backups I’m a Raijin in 8……This Game Is Fake 😂💀💯
Ranked with Reina just spam hellsweep into high, then mixup… keep out is ewgf… I hate playing like that so I spend most time in quick play. But if I’m playing ranked and losing, I can always bring it back by being cheap. I hate it here.
We are a group of 5 friends, 4 are competitive i.e going to tournaments often and one is a casual since he mostly work on tournament days. He is the only one loving this game and coincidentally the lesser skilled among us 5. That proved something to me
Every pro/streamer is getting new characters to max rank in a couple of days now. They didn't do this in T7. Omega was actually hard to get. Tekken King is basically intermediate level, but theres loads of garbage players at the rank
I am 38 years old - i dont play ranked in T8 (i am 1st dan) im not new to tekken i know how to play I enjoy the game (i just understand its modern tekken) instead of doing ranked i run FT5s vs high ranked players and grind and lab matchups - yes i have beaten destruction ranks in FT5s learning the matchup > rank Since i am a bit older now i dont feel the "need" to validate my gameplay with a "rank" in Tekken 7 and Tekken 8 there is a hyper obsession with ranking up….just because a player is a high rank does NOT mean you know every match up
@@JIX9ISLER1986 I was the same too in SF6, never played ranked but always played online w friends in lobbies and I can get pretty consistent wins even if they’re in master. I would invest more time into tekken but the lobby system just isn’t that good, and the game really feels exhausting to play after barely an hour of playing. It also feels to me that half the cast isn’t properly fleshed out compared to some of the best characters
Bro this is new normal of tekken community when a Baby Cockroach can get a GoD and all the garbage pro yes drones are known that this game is completely garbage because of all the laggers and pluggers. It is what it is bro and also congrats on geting tekken god bro
This my first tekken Steve tekken god rank after a year trying to hit GoD ranked is hell😂 still learning how to play my character and play this game in general 😂
@@TheChilledScrub Lol. I don't one and done. Ironically I do try to learn. If I'm getting my ass beat I try to understand why. Its why I miss unlimited rematches from T7. You helped my get to blue ranks in T7 from your older video. I have nothing but respect. If you don't mind me asking (you can be brutal, you're not going to hurt my feelings), What's something that needs attention on my game?
Just step off the gas some times and let your opponent over commit. Asuka Defense and crushing options are her bread and butter. You could have baited me several times over and killed me for it. Other than that you got the overall idea.
13:23 was a great point. People kept saying the game had too many characters to learn the matchup. Like is that the game’s fault, or is it the players fault?
yes, it is the games fault. Because that just means that you can beat people on matchup knowledge alone. You really think Ranchu would won any big tournements with a more common character like Bryan and Paul? I think not
Are you planning on getting to GoD, or are you sitting on Tekken God? From my personal experience, there is a big spike in difficulty from Tekken God and upward if you decide to continue. Players know what they're doing (mostly), and you'll need to adapt to the game mechanics to win. Not like it means anything to me, but maybe it could validate your stance even more on your viewers.
They did this in Tekken 7. They said getting to be blue ranks would be hard. Then Emperor and then the god ranks. Point being people keep moving the goal posts. In Tekken 8 I’ve seen Rajins that should be gods and GoD’s that can do the basics. You’re doing it now I’m literally the 3rd highest rank in the game. Then people say get GoD. Ranked is actually easy regardless of what rank you are currently at. Especially if you have legacy skill. At the end of the day it’s just a title I never have nor will I ever say rank validates my stance.
@@VeilKouExactly, you can’t comment on it’s easy when you haven’t went through the ENTIRE ranked experience when you haven’t reached the max rank even once lmao
Tekken ranked is highly competitive so folks will one and done.. You can get better playing player matches and group matches vs better competition, so ranked is simply about getting as high as your skill will take you. This is also where the players are the cheesiest because all that matters is the win.. I understand it. And Tekken God and above is still a tiny fraction of the player base, so I think ranks are a good test to see how good you are.
I think the issue with rank is rank inflation. They made all of the low ranks irrelevant up to yellow. You cannot lose rank in green and i think thay is a big deal because it inflates the rank pool that means that like u only start ranked at like warrior. I think rank needs a overhaul too because of how broken season 1 is too. I hope tekken does what other games does which is every season rank resets.
6:19 I'm Glad you brought up the one and doners. Here's my take on that: In mk if you run from the set, you lose, plain and simple. They need to make that a ranked standard for fighting games instead of allowing morons to run away while rubbing themselves with mayonnaise and clapping their hands like a walrus. "Me win, me run, me guuuud." 🦧 Having the option of leaving sets before they are over is a complete joke. No one wants to deal with that, and it's super lame and wack. That's why I stopped playing this crap (respectfully).
I hold the opposite view .. go ahead and dont play this game for single day for 3-4 months and then pretend that there is inflation.... When the opposite is happening... The ppl that are playing are getting better and better .. there is no rank inflation ... If ppl are in these leagues its because they deserve it ...the overall average tekken skill level gets higher and higher each passing month. This stuff about comparing it to previous tekken games is quite literally apples to oranges .. the rank system is different.....u get a certain number of freebee ranks that didnt happen in previous games... Which will result in a different representation for the player base.. this has nothing to do with " oh these players dont belong in this rank".. because within the tekken 8 player base they definitely do . This player base is also larger ... As tekken 7 usually hovered around 1k concurrent on a good day at most player base while tekken 8 hovers around 7-8 k concurrent .. the game literally has way more active players .
I literally went on a 7-8 month hiatus used a character that’s not my main and got god ranks in a couple of hours. It’s not apples to oranges. It’s just a fact the older games were more difficult. The older games didn’t hold your hand as much as T8 does. I’m not pretending anything there was a rank inflation in Tekken 7 season 1 to 2 and huge inflation in ranked Tekken 8 in general.
My main gripe with this game is that due to the devs' obsession with giving "new tools" to every character with each game/season, characters have been so dumbed down it's insane. Like, I used to play Bryan because I loved how gimmicky he was, his mid checks were slower, tracked worse on certain sides, his low pokes tracked to only one side each so you had to think about which one to use, he was such a high risk/high reward character with clear weaknesses to steps. Now? Now he's just braindead. You use qcf1+2, qcb1 and 1+2,2. That's it. That's optimal Bryan Tekken 8 gameplay. Like it's just so stupid. And let's not even talk about how many neutral-skips exist in the game anymore. Like no move should cover like 7 different options that the opponent can do. But noooo, the dumbass new players that clearly got carried on Tekken King and were absolute red rank shitters back in Tekken 7 have such a fragile ego that it's impossible that this game is ass, clearly it's just that you're bad. What a joke.
@@TheChilledScrub Exactly, and this has been going on since Tekken 7 too. I struggled my ass on Season 1 just to get to yellow ranks, then on Season 4 when I was already decent (Tekken King) a friend who was brand-new to not only Tekken, but fighting games in general, gets to Genbu in like the first week. How people still deny that rank inflation exists is still beyond me.
They have structurally changed the ranked system in this game so I wouldn't say its easier just different, God of destruction and tekken god prime translate to each other pretty accurately but its the lower ranks that are BROADLY accurate but not as specific in the other games because.. 1. less ranks because you cant demote until yellow making there are really only 21 ranks compare to say T7 with 35 iirc 2. the rank system being so volatile because of win streak bonuses and promotion bonuses (which also rewards one and done at blue+ to avoid loss streaks). 3. gold ranks are pretty accurate because while you do get promotion bonuses but you get very punishing loss streaks so you would need like a 60% win rate to rank up instead of the standard 51% 4. prowess system and elite players ranking up alt characters (Clive was a nightmare). Things like pluggers, cheaters, and poor balanced characters were all a thing in previous games so they're not relevant. I don't agree with the rank structure, elo systems are superior, but it is a functioning rank system with roughly double the players in each rank. You mentioned the MainMan who benefited from this heavy where the top rank effectively doubled or tripled in size accommodating him. If they add 2-4 more ranks after God of destruction it would fix 75% of the issue because right now there are too few ranks. also I never saw a Raijin player that was good that was straight cap and god of destruction players are almost always really good unless there drinking or something. Finally getting tekken god in this game translates roughly to high blue in T7 when adjusting for the fewer ranks in T8 so getting it quickly is exactly what is would have expected of someone with your history and skill, I don't know about TT2 though.
Just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I’ve played rajins who are fundamentally sound. The just play nothing but quick match I’ve fought GoD in ranked that were horrible.
Game is not “progressively” easier. Overtime people learn and adapt to things they don’t understand. In theory this raises the skill floor considerably over time. Making it hard to get away with things you use to get away with. Lowering the floor at which people get stuck and have to learn to deal with something, or implement something new. Almost every game works like this by the way.
@TheChilledScrub I don’t care if Tekken 7 was harder, or if Tag 2 is harder than 7. I don’t even disagree with that. You said Tekken 8 ranked isn’t getting harder, rather progressively easier. That is wrong. As a games lifespan increases, the harder the game becomes, for the same reasons i gave above.
Smash player here and I get one and done ALL the time The reason why people don't like rematching (or at least imo) is because of loss aversion. People spend 10s to 1000s of hours on the game looking for ways to get high points or get back to a place where they were demoted from. Fighting games online in ranked matches feel more and more like a gamble with points in future installments because you can't risk losing SO MANY points. so the safest bet from winning a close game you can learn from is to leave while the getting's good because you know your opponent figured you out and you KNOW you're gonna lose them points 😂
im not gonna lie bro i feel like tekken gods should not be saying ranked is "easy" until you reach god of destruction and you can stay there on a daily basis without losing it then u can say that.
@@FOXY_SPHYNX so I shouldn’t defend it because I’m not GoD yet that sounds like some scrubby talk to me 😂 also I’m not defending the ranked system I’m just saying Tekken gods have no room to call Tekken 8 ranked easy when they’re not even at the top rank yet and maintaining it.
@@FuriousKai Your initial comment said that tekken gods shouldn't talk unless they reach GoD by definition and logic, you shouldn't be talking. End of story
Only thing I disagree with is one and done. I have no interest in playing vs Victor, Clive, jin, or Nina. Even if they are dogshit it’s not worth the time invested. I’ll take my win and walk away. As far as ranks goes I hit yaksa in T7 and I barely play T8 and hit bushin. It’s cake
Far as statistics, the most players rest in the Fujin-Raijin ranks. You can literally look this up because this is public knowledge. Once you reach Tekken King, you are in the top 20% of players. Once you reach Tekken God, you are in the top 10% of players. So don't say that the majority of players rest between Tekken King and Tekken God because that is just false information. And just because somebody like you, people you know and people in these comments can get to Tekken God in six hours doesn't make it easy. It depends on the player, and even if you downplay yourself, you're still in the top 10% according to statistics. I'm only at Tekken Emperor and It took me a couple months on my first profile, but it only took me about 8 hours on my second profile. And like somebody else said in the comments, the prowess system makes the rank system a mess! It's not necessarily hard, but it's definitely a mess. So I understand that for YOU it was easy. But just because other people can't do it as easily doesn't mean the game is easy. It just depends on who you are. It took Max (a gamer for over 20 years) to get a coach (PhiDX) just to achieve Tekken King and it happened recently. Meaning it took almost a year to do it. Is he ass? Maybe. But as long as you're getting better, let these people breathe. Lol
1.) Max is a SF player 2.) I’m not downplaying myself I’m just admitting that it’s easier. 3.) Several people in the comments section that are playing Tekken for the first time are hitting Tekken King and God ranks. 4.) I’m not top 10% of players.
@TheChilledScrub 1. according to the people who are actually in Tekken God, yes you are. You'll be surprised. Based on actual statistics. Look it up yourself. 2. Max is a FIGHTING Game player. He plays everything. He just enjoys Tekken 8 more than SF6 at the moment, which is saying something. 3. I see you downplaying yourself only because you make it seem as if it's easy for the majority of players to do what you did, and it's not. 4. The people in the comments hitting those ranks put work in I'm sure. No way they did it in a matter of hours like you did. Anything is possible if you put enough time into it. Legacy knowledge carried you (as it should) but if the players in the comments have achieved God ranks, I can guarantee you it took a while. Game is not easy because if you lack knowledge you'll get clipped by all type of stuff. This game knowledge checks you 24-7. But if you play a lot you'll catch on and can do it. The other content creators I watch (that aren't pros) have just hit Tekken God in the last couple months. Trust me bro, you are rare. Lol
How to fix ranked. Just make it a forced/locked FT2 format so no one is cherrypicking games and make demoting more harsh. You'd be surprised how many will be stuck in Orange and red ranks. But man hearing this as a new player kinda bums me out. I hit Fujin a month after buying the game in November and it felt like it took everything i had Lmao
Thank you for the comment. I’m not trying to say that people are trash. I’m just saying the game is easier. I like your fixes on ranked. It would make a huge difference.
I got to Bushin in the first month of the game with a 78% winrate with Zafina. I knew something was wrong so i stopped playing ranked to figure out what was wrong with this game since getting to Fujin in T7 was an absolute struggle for me. Turns out theres alot wrong with T8 and it has to do with, not only the heat mechanic, but more importantly, its the movement of the game thats the problem. There are so many examples of moves you cannot backdash or sidestep, but you could in T7. T8 is a game of "whoever presses the better button at the better time wins." Rather than whoever has better movement and defense wins. I was a Nina scrub masher in T7, now im heavily rewarded for playing like a monkey brained lunatic.
Rank is only as difficult as you make it. Comes down to how much you know and how little your opponent knows, your opponents skill level also commits to difficulty. I've also noticed each region has different difficulty I p,ayers. I've played high tekken god supreme in one region and breezed through them but the same rank players in other regions I couldn't land a hit on and got triple perfected 😂 I'm only shinryu ranked raven BTW I don't play rank much. I don't care if people 1 and done lol
@TheChilledScrub oceania servers are nasty in ranked, but in saying that there's generally only 100 to 200 players in them servers so they play eachother alot and learn the play styles. Asia servers are insanely brutal
No, wrong, it’s prowess, rank really doesn’t matter much. If you pay close attention, 190 000 prowess Bushin, is a completely different rank from 250 000 prowess Bushin. Same goes for Tekken God, 270 000 prowess Tekken God is a completely different rank from 350 000 prowess Tekken God! Prowess is the deciding factor here. Not rank itself! First run, I took my caracter to Emperor in few hours. After, I got demoted to Bushin, and up and down around these ranks. With 260 000 prowess. For the first time, you fight lower skilled players under 200 000 prowess. That’s why it’s easy to hit Emperor, but as you hit emperor, you get huge boost in prowess. Also if you have other characters, up, your prowess will go even higher. Which as a casual, will result you getting stuck at Tekken Emperor or Tekken God with 270 000 prowess being matched with those playing alt characters with 350 000 to 400 000 prowess. That’s how it works!
@ But I don’t play 190 000 prowess Tekken King, I play 260 000 prowess Tekken King, there is a huge skill difference there. Try it out on fresh new account. I did it with 2, went through ranks with 109 win streak, basically cleaned blue ranks, reached Emperpr, and got demotet to Bushin, only to meet more skilled player, at the same rank, I just ran through like knfe through a butter. No, rank is not tied to prowess. Because certain rank boosts prowess, that then match you with same rank and same prowess. Think og it like entering a new zone, but place looks identical.
So, because it was easy for you to get to hit God rank, I guess that means it should be easy for everyone. I have yet to leave blue ranks. Thanks for speaking for all players...?
Wow... "mainmanswe has gotten God of Destruction within a couple of days maybe a month at most" . This guy has played Tekken seriously in his own words since Tekken 5. He was Omega in 7. If you cannot achieve GoD after that much time with the franchise, then there is something seriously wrong. Ranked in 8 is easier in the sense that you don't really demote properly. But again, if you can't consistently win, you are getting that losing streak bonus. Ranked names mean nothing. Soemone being a rank is just to put them in a bracket of people with equal skill. If ranekd is so easy in 7 or 8 as you say , you should be TGO or GoD . If you aren't yet, then the ranked system did it's job, you hit your ceiling, so for the sake of arguemnt, if ranked is so easy, and achieving these ranked names are so easy, and you not being a TGO in 7 or GoD in 8 that just translates to it not being easy
Crazy enough you saying I hit my ceiling. 1.) I’m not as good as TMM nor do I have as much experience. 2.) I just came back after a 7-8 month hiatus and use a character that’s not my main. 3.) You don’t have to be the highest rank to notice it’s much easier than before. 4.) It weird that people are quick to hate the elitist mindset, but are quick to use it when it benefits them.
@@TheChilledScrub 1) Never siad you were, from all I know you have played since Tag 2, he has played since Tekken 5, and this has been his job since 7. Expeecting you to be on that level makes no sense based on hours alone. 2) You've played since Tag 2 so this is to be expected. Anything else would be where there is a question mark. And yes, because implying it's easier is in the context of elitism. 3) It being easier or not doesn't affect anyone, nor does it take away from anyone getthig higher. These ranks are just names to put you against equally skileld players, wether that goal post is Fujin or Tekken God doesn't affect anyone as they are just there to get equally skilled matches. Again, if you have played this since Tag 2, anything but you reaching GoD is to be expected man. I am on the verge of quitting Tekken 8, because at the end of the day, this is just a knowledge check game and I regret wasting the time I did on it. In SF6, not using Drive Ruhs at all, I am taking games off of 1700MR players who spams drive rush constantly while I'm just a Diamond 3 so far. You can do this in SF6 based purely on common sense and experience
@@TheChilledScrub My only embarisment in SF6 is that my EX stats is like 60% because I don't use any of the drive rush whatever. It just sucks it is not at a pure 0% but 0.3 something because the game sometimes decides that it is gonna skip or drop inputs
This video is simply comparing the old Tekken games rank system to Tekken 8's rank system. It does not matter which one is harder. Different eras, different games. Trust me no one is gonna go in Tekken Tag to prove to you they are worthy of your Elitist mentality. If anything this video is misleading. Tekken 8's rank is not easy just cause a legacy player reached it in 8 hours.
There are plenty of first time players reaching higher ranks. Ranked is easier. As a legacy player it’s just a fact the older games are bit more challenging.
@@TheChilledScrub Who cares though? No one is gonna go play older games just to play what you think is harder. Ranked is not easy for everyone. This video is misleading. Nothing more than rage bait.
It's easy because the game is more balanced than Eddy b1 4 in tag 2 and 2d bs in Tekken 7. Plus you've been playing the other games for from what I can see like 7 years. I'm just gonna hope you're not downplaying and devaluing the progress of overall improvement especially for newer players because if you are, I've already wasted 5 minutes skimming through your video and I'm not wasting another 15 minutes of my time for this elitist bullshit. But yeah assuming I didn't misunderstand, nice ragebait bud.
You’re assuming intent before watching the video all the way through. It’s not an elitist mindset towards people progression in Tekken 8. The game has been simplified significantly which isn’t always a bad thing. I really wish you’d read what you wrote. Maybe ask a question before assuming.
@@TheChilledScrub I wasn't trying to completely assume, hence why I said "I hope you're not doing etc." I was lowkey trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but it's hard to give that to someone when they have such a ridiculous title in their video and expect people to dig deeper to find a misunderstanding from "assuming" when the video on the outside is clearly portrayed as 20 minutes of a guy calling a game people have probably put a lot of time into "easy." You clearly took too damn long to actually get to that point.
we know that ranked is easy until gold ranks. i think every competent player can get blue in 1 day when they know the fundamentals. ive done it on 5 chars the past 2 weeks.
I was in gold ranks in T7 will multiple characters. Paul isn’t my main and I easily obtain gold ranks. The hardest part is dealing with the ragequitters and the one and dones . It’s literally just moving the goal posts to try discredit the point made.
Kind of a goofy ass rant because you did zero research. There are charts on Reddit of every rank and where more people are. The general population are in high ruler ranks and Fujin. Once you get over that it drops drastically. People in go ranks are like less than 5% of the player base. Granted it is easier to rank up because they changed the system. Less ranks to earn, you don't lose points until orange I think, you earn more points with win streaks. The issue is once you get to Fujin and above you lose more points than you win and you're fighting god ranks secondary characters getting smacked around. Ranked is easy to a point but do some research next time homie.
As a life long Tekken fan, its really frustrating when i try to explain to people how much better this game would be if they just removed or toned down a lot of the scrub mechanics, just to be hit with "you're just bad bro bait it out"
Ah yes, I'm bad for asking a game to remove comeback and panic mechanics that removes the momentum from the better player
I could be the WORST player in the world, that response tells me I'm dealing with mentally deficient people
And that response/mindset unfortunately has found its way to almost every Tekken player i talk to
Maybe I just come from a time where a comeback was earned instead of the game playing itself
I was hoping the devs would hear our criticism but unfortunately they will continue to double down
And can you even blame them when majority of players would rather have a worse game just cuz they get to press more buttons and feel good
Not to sound like im good cuz im IGHT at best, but i really find it hard to play this game because it requires you to think and play like a scrub, and i simply have more fun trying to read people and losing than synthetically forcing my way out of situations with 1 button
Been really enjoying your last few videos bro nice stuff
Appreciate it man the community is just to blame for the state of the game as the devs
@Forrest477 Aye bro you see what you see. I’m not here to change your mind either you agree with me or you don’t.
the thing is there are so many panic moves like cancan or hopkicks or mattahorn so panic moves will always be there but i cannot lie i do dislike rage art and heat but i think it was better in t7
Exactly it’s literally rank inflation.
Bro you nailed it 💯
Ranked in T8 is literally designed to be a feel-good system for noobs.
Hah, my friend is skipping this game and is waiting for T9. I said to him don't bother bc it will get even worse in T9
lolol you have the foundation from previous tekkens and you spam that ranked is easy, from a technical point of view you shouldn't brag because after such experience you should reach lord of destruction, I agree that ranked is easier from part to part but you got a little carried away, you can't say something is easy when you have a few thousand hours of experience with the series duh
Exactly

I can tell you’ve never played the earlier one. Because buttons properties change so much. Everyone of these games feel so damn different. Not to mention the level of movement in each of them.
@18:02 Street Fighter EX3 - Precious Heart (Sakura's Theme)
Bingo.
In tag 2 you wouldn't make out of light blue . I was stuck brawler, and im tekken supreme with paul

Tekken 8 ranked is the home for one and doners, wifi warriors, pluggers and hate mailers this mode has it all.
It’s was like this on day one
Ranked with Reina just spam hellsweep into high, then mixup… keep out is ewgf… I hate playing like that so I spend most time in quick play. But if I’m playing ranked and losing, I can always bring it back by being cheap. I hate it here.
Heavens wrath stance especially in heat destroys most players with the mixup + counter potential
Don’t think when playing Tekken 8 just do stuff
We are a group of 5 friends, 4 are competitive i.e going to tournaments often and one is a casual since he mostly work on tournament days. He is the only one loving this game and coincidentally the lesser skilled among us 5. That proved something to me
It’s just screamed something to me. The moment I stop playing competitive the game was a lot more fun.
Every pro/streamer is getting new characters to max rank in a couple of days now. They didn't do this in T7. Omega was actually hard to get. Tekken King is basically intermediate level, but theres loads of garbage players at the rank
I am 38 years old - i dont play ranked in T8 (i am 1st dan) im not new to tekken i know how to play
I enjoy the game (i just understand its modern tekken)
instead of doing ranked i run FT5s vs high ranked players and grind and lab matchups - yes i have beaten destruction ranks in FT5s
learning the matchup > rank
Since i am a bit older now i dont feel the "need" to validate my gameplay with a "rank" in Tekken 7 and Tekken 8 there is a hyper obsession with ranking up….just because a player is a high rank does NOT mean you know every match up
As a person his apart of the 30+ crowd I feel this sentiment.
Good sets with people looking to improve is better than rank title.

At this point i just want a remaster of one of the old games with rollback but Namco knows their whole core base will flee mashen8 if they do that
I’ll be there with you brother.
I think not
I wonder if all the people shit talking you realize you've only played T8 for like 10% of the game's lifespan?
No they don’t people don’t research they just talk.
Solid gameplay man solid rant
I feel like T8 is just easier mechanically. Just like SF6, and MK1. And Guilty Gear Strive. Truly, The new Golden Age of fighting games.
It’s trash.
There were way more ranks in the older games. Im purple and i barely broke yellow on 7
Zeku made Rajin without effort that should tell you something
I remember in the early online Tekkens, it actually meant something to make it through all of the Kyu and Dan ranks
Instant gratification
Are you planning on getting to GoD, or are you sitting on Tekken God?
From my personal experience, there is a big spike in difficulty from Tekken God and upward if you decide to continue.
Players know what they're doing (mostly), and you'll need to adapt to the game mechanics to win.
Not like it means anything to me, but maybe it could validate your stance even more on your viewers.
people said the same for tekken king and i didn't feel it
They did this in Tekken 7.
Same
Go ahead and get to GOD then.
@@VeilKouExactly, you can’t comment on it’s easy when you haven’t went through the ENTIRE ranked experience when you haven’t reached the max rank even once lmao

I can’t wait for a reset and hopefully and overhaul of the rank system but hey who knows
Same
I stay hearing them cry about rank.. I always get a good chuckle cause this is the easiest ranking system since T5dr
Shh…. They will call you a hater.
With that being said it’s still easier to hit these rank than in older games.
I’d love season resets. They only did it once it Tekken 7 and the fanbase thought it was the end of the world.
@TheChilledScrub lol. That is funny. It does sounds like tekken players with their fragile elos.
"Me win, me run, me guuuud." 🦧
Having the option of leaving sets before they are over is a complete joke. No one wants to deal with that, and it's super lame and wack. That's why I stopped playing this crap (respectfully).
Preach brother
Tekken 7 ranking was completely different in season 1
Exactly extremely difficult. Then in season 2 it became so much harder.
They won’t admit that the game carried them, but will raise their rank as a badge of honor.
I disagree, it would be easy if i weren’t so angry at the bullshit people do
T8 is rage inducing
They have structurally changed the ranked system in this game so I wouldn't say its easier just different, God of destruction and tekken god prime translate to each other pretty accurately but its the lower ranks that are BROADLY accurate but not as specific in the other games because..
1. less ranks because you cant demote until yellow making there are really only 21 ranks compare to say T7 with 35 iirc
2. the rank system being so volatile because of win streak bonuses and promotion bonuses (which also rewards one and done at blue+ to avoid loss streaks).
3. gold ranks are pretty accurate because while you do get promotion bonuses but you get very punishing loss streaks so you would need like a 60% win rate to rank up instead of the standard 51%
4. prowess system and elite players ranking up alt characters (Clive was a nightmare).
Tekken 8 is legit easier. The way Tekken 7 easier than Tag 2 the devs are making the games more offensive based and casual friendly.
Alot more fodder in this game to beat up to gain rank points
Smash player here and I get one and done ALL the time
The reason why people don't like rematching (or at least imo) is because of loss aversion.
Running sets is a foreign language in Tekken 8 to much pride
im not gonna lie bro i feel like tekken gods should not be saying ranked is "easy" until you reach god of destruction and you can stay there on a daily basis without losing it then u can say that.
Are you a GoD?
You haven't reached GoD yourself. And you're here defending the ranked system

It’s cake
I always run the set, but ranked is easier
Tbh this is y the fgc gets laughed at
Far as statistics, the most players rest in the Fujin-Raijin ranks.
Lol
1.) Max is a SF player
2.) I’m not downplaying myself I’m just admitting that it’s easier.
Also punish pluggers harshly
No one knows zafina matchup though (Majority)
Don’t say that too loud. People will say that you just a hater.
Rank is only as difficult as you make it. Comes down to how much you know and how little your opponent knows, your opponents skill level also commits to difficulty. I've also noticed each region has different difficulty I p,ayers. I've played high tekken god supreme in one region and breezed through them but the same rank players in other regions I couldn't land a hit on and got triple perfected 😂
I'm only shinryu ranked raven BTW I don't play rank much. I don't care if people 1 and done lol
To some degree you have a point the Asia servers are brutal
Prowess is tied to rank if I’m not mistaken
@ I’ve done it several times over the
So, because it was easy for you to get to hit God rank, I guess that means it should be easy for everyone. I have yet to leave blue ranks. Thanks for speaking for all players...?
It’s not about the god rank what I’m saying no matter what rank you are it would have been more difficult in prior entries.
Rank doesn't matter to much i care more about prowess but even then i see really dumb stuff sometimes.
My prowess does not move. But my friends does. I’ve seen Kinshin and Bushin With 300,000 prowess while playing their main character.
@@TheChilledScrub
1) Never siad you were, from all I know you have played since Tag 2, he has played since Tekken 5, and this has been his job since 7.
Exactly, Diamond 4 Ryu Diamond 3 Gief with SF2 fundamentals.
@@TheChilledScrub My only embarisment in SF6 is that my EX stats is like 60% because I don't use any of the drive rush whatever. It just sucks it is not at a pure 0% but 0.3 something because the game sometimes decides that it is gonna skip or drop inputs
@CellSaga574 That’s why I dropped SF6. The input drops were so bad.
Honestly, this was worded perfectly. It's such a clickbait title that had to take 20 minutes to get to a point that isn't braindead.
Tekken 8 is my first tekken.
I hit Bushin with Paul after 6 months
I have 40 defence.
AMA
Yeah the game is extremely easy.
we know that ranked is easy until gold ranks. i think every competent player can get blue in 1 day when they know the fundamentals. ive done it on 5 chars the past 2 weeks.
I was in gold ranks in T7 will multiple characters. Paul isn’t my main and I easily obtain gold ranks. The hardest part is dealing with the ragequitters and the one and dones .
It’s literally just moving the goal posts to try discredit the point made.
There are tekken emps/gods with 40-50 defense. Thats all you need to know about Tekken 8
Exactly I have a 97 defense and a 89 offense. Tekken 8 is a buttons fest.
I feel like Tekken 7 was easier. Maybe because 8 is a more aggressive game, I feel it's harder, I'm not super aggressive.
It’s easier. Defense is harder but the game overall is easier.
You proved my point bro lol
Kind of a goofy ass comment because you clearly didn’t watch the video before commenting.
@falconthewrestlr-8745 I did and he's saying it's easy to get to God ranks when it's literally less than 5% of people playing.
@@bastinelli443It’s incredibly easy to get Tekken god in this game, if you can’t then you just suck
