- Join me on a 5 day backpacking trip in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, Spectacle Lake and PCT area in Washington with my friends Catherine Gregory and Joey Coconato (My Own Frontier), in July 2019. We start from the Mineral Creek Trailhead and go up to Park Lakes. From there we take the PCT to Spectacle Lake and continue over to Waptus Lake from where we make our way down to Salmon La Sac trailhead to end the trip. We spent 4th of July at the beautiful Spectacle Lake, and it was quite crowded. This video was filmed and uploaded in 4k ultra HD. There are stunning vistas of Bears Breast mountain, Chimney Rock, Lemah Mountain, and Summit Chief Mountain to name a few. PCT section J.

SO beautiful !!! N familiar. My dad was n the military n we were stationed n Washington. We camped n hiked out there. This was nice to see memories.

@@NorwegianXplorer I was 10 so I don’t recall specific places but it was all around Mt. Rainier. Mt. Rainier was our view every day. Just GLORIOUS !

The desiccated remains of ghost volcanoes make for dramatic backdrops to our hiking adventures. Love the scenery you got from the Spectacle Lake overlook of Lemah Mountain holding back the clouds. Such a raw and jagged range within the core of the Alpine Lakes.

Such beautiful country in Washington State. Looks like a lot of day hikers had come probably from the west on the PCT for the July 4th holiday. The trailhead is right off I-90. And Seattle is SO insanely crowded. It looks like you left most of them behind at Spectacle Lake though. I've only been on the PCT once, and only for a few miles near Walker's Pass in the Sierra's. Which is practically a desert in comparison to Washington. What a gorgeous trip. Beautifully captured as well. Thanks so much, Jarl! 😊🐝❤

Beautiful! If you ever come back to Washington state, I highly recommend Olympic National Park but as with so many places. So many amazing trails, never enough time.

Great video! I hiked Section J last August and it was so smoky and/or rainy we had few views of the peaks. Nice to see them in your video. Also fun to see Joey Coconato being filmed by someone else.☺️ (I’ve watched lots of his videos.)
So have I lol, yes he is fun to go on trips with, we did another trip back to back with this one in the Glacier Peak Wilderness which was quite the ordeal, look out for it in about a week. Alpine Lakes was beautiful when you got to see the views, we were able to get a good weather window. Thanks for watching and commenting:-)

There are rangers checking permits if permits are needed, it is also not seen as very cool or honorable to cheat on permits
