    very innovative idea and certainly makes for easy access to adjustments. A few of you are complaining about the new technology on an older car, its not about the rod itself but just an easier way to showcase the suspension.

    The technology of this car is truly impressive but the color choice and way it was finished makes this one of the most beautiful '32 Fords we've ever seen, and we've seen a LOT of these. Haven't wanted a '32 Ford until we've seen this one.

    I love the innovation, yet keeping the classic '32 look. Being a BMW motorcycle rider as well as a hot rodder, I see a marriage of a similar BMW motorcycle suspension...hidden very well ...must be a blast to drive! Great work!

    Over engineering is at the heart of true hot rodding. Hot rodders push limits and go outside the box with creativity and ingenuity. While you may like the classic idealized hot rod, in 50 years this will be a traditional hot rod and in-wheel suspension will seem archaic.

    Beautiful '32 Ford!
    I've always loved these cars and how versatile they are when it comes to customization!
    You can build them bone stock, go American Graffiti style like Milner's yellow '32, or a Pro-Street drag car, or go all modern high-tech like this one and make into a Pro-Touring type of track car that you can drive on the street all day long and then take it to the track and race it and then drive it home that night!
    Very nice workmanship and engineering! I love it... pure awesomeness! =D

    mind boggling to say the least, and on one of my favorite vehicles. as i watched and listened the concept reminded me of the 50s era Citroën DS , hydraulic fluid was contained and pumped through the tubing chassis and operated the suspension system, the power steering and brakes.

    I once drew a similar design for the front and rear suspension of a ground effects F1 car, similar to a lotus 78/79. But I had slim upper and lower arms extending to the wheel to create a clean opening for air passage.
    I appreciate his efforts but prefer the look of conventional suspension for a hot rod. Either single I beam with radius rods or independent with coil over shocks.

    Believe it or not....I remember when the car looked like an original Ford car. Some of them even had what is called a rumble seat, which was in the back (where our trunk is now) and it had a handle at the top of it (up near the back window) and you turned the handle and pulled on it, and out came the rumble seat. I remember my Aunt Bessie coming down from Limestone Maine in one of them. Sure doesn't look like a car of "now". But this one here is a souped up one. This car is as old as ME!!!!

    What a beautiful car. And that suspension system is amazing. Why is it not used more in all kind of cars? Looks to simplify the whole suspension system a lot. To top it of a very safe chassis and body in case something bad happens.

    • @jimevans1809
      @jimevans1809 8 років тому +3

      +Fast Er This is actually not a new idea. It's a very old one. What they've done is re-engineered a kingpin suspension system, using modern technology. The reason it was abandoned in the past was that materials technology wasn't good enough and maintenance, especially in a mass market vehicle would be a critical factor.

    *Oh, how I love reading youtube comments! Internet anonymity at it's finest!*
    However, regarding the video, I haven't seen or heard of this in-wheel suspension until just now. Although I really dig the '32 Ford showcase, this system would REALLY shine in the lifted suspension market! It tucks neatly into the wheel for protection and the relocated cylinder allows for easy adjustment!
    Food for thought.

    Anybody notice this has the lowest un-sprung weight of any suspension system ever? And zero traction-breaking in-out slide of swing arm suspension? Pretty advanced I'd say! And the remote, hydraulically activated spring/shock setup is sheer genius! Oh, I have an original '32 coupe traditional build hot rod, and I say if its your car you can put any kind of wheels on it you damn well please.
