Starting with the foot stomp at 3:46, Frank pulls out all the tricks to finish the song -- great phrasing, the use of his hands, etc. At 4:00, I've rarely seen him so happy on stage. And then the purring voice at 4:14. This is a go-to feel good video for me.
Wow. As a rock n roll fan myself this guy FS had a lot of Rock n Roll in him. His phrasing and buildup of his volume and diction brings the song to a climax at the end and sends the audience in frenzy. There will never ever be a performer like Frank Sinatra. Never .
this was one of the best shows ever shown on tv up to the time and maybe of all time. he came out of retirement. his voice, hoarse at the beginning, warmed up to an unbelievable performance. all reviews were spectacular in calling it what it was, a mature fully formed sanitra at the top of his game surrounded by the famous friends of course. rpc
Screw all the rock stars. This is the king of them all. He had the crowd mesmerized with his talent. A man in total control and having fun while excelling at his craft.
How as Americans, we miss an entertainer like this who loved what he did to and for his fans and never ever did anything less than his best. Thanks Mr. Sinatra
I remember watching thhis in TV that October night. Won't tell you what I did after the show but it really put you in a mood. I was with my friend Al that night, RIP Al.
Frank Sinatra saved my life one night. I was walking down the street in Vegas when two guys pulled me into an alley and started beating me up. This went on for a few minutes and then Frank showed up and simply said, "That's enough". Frank Sinatra saved my life that night and I'll be forever grateful.
His voice stronger than ever at 1;20 the motor starts as he pulls the crowd in and shows his strength and range. I remember this concert though I didn't attend It was Impossible to get seats. I believe the live album was made because of the demand was so great.
Maravilhosa canção de amor que o saudoso cantor norte-americano Frank Sinatra ao cantar dizia recordar de seu amor Ava Garden que foi sua segunda esposa.
Wou is a diamond My beautiful Frank Sinatra.i love you forever the Voice most fantástic in the world i love só much a great baritone. CIDA CASTRO from BRAZIL.
I shook the man’s hand at Bally’s Reno from the front row in October 1988 💎 absolutely beautiful classic memories for me, I was 25 on that night 💫 also on this night, October 13th, 1974 I was with my family at SAHARA TAHOE seeing Elvis Presley live at 11 years old ❤️❤️ love them both and I’ve made my living entertaining myself since 1985 now ✌️🤩 blessings from NickyD ✊BayArea SoulArtist NickyDePaola 💫
I so enjoy listening to Frank Sinatra sing his tunes .... Not long ago I heard a song he sang at the end of a rousing live concert ..... I can remember only the drawn out lyrics that ended the concert - ... Until .....We......Meet ....Again HELP - What was that song???
The concert that was broadcasted was the last of a series of six that Sinatra gave at Madison Square Garden in October 1974. So its most likely that the album consists of different recordings from those 6 concerts.
This is not the Main Event gig though, right? Unless Frank did it twice that night. No, I don't think so. Similar banter and schtick but I know the other recording so well that I know this is not the one from The Main Event album October 13, 1974.
I reckon this clip may have been censored - where it has him singing 'That old black magic' at 3.18 I think he really sings 'Where does it hurt you baby?' (Presumably the censor didn't like the 'saucy' suggestion of this). It's still brilliant though.
The "where does it hurt you baby" comment can be heard on the Main Event album release, because that album contains takes from various shows in Oct 1974. Under My Skin on the album was not taken from the televised show, hence the differences.
He got all the chicks in the audience excited. HE GOT 'EM ALL EXCITED! Then he took them backstage. What he did with & to little baby chickens backstage at Madison Square Garden, I mean, let's just not go into it, okay? alright? Forget I even brought it up.
great song: great arrangement; great singer - however his attempts at humour are out of place and not very funny - listen to Sinatra at the Sands - unlike Dean Martin Frank was not funny on stage and I read he envied Dean's easy use of humour ( I can spell but this is the British spelling of your American humor)
Wow!!!! what a show man!Look at the different generations in the audience. Everybody loves Frank. That's the way it was before.
He was in total command.
Starting with the foot stomp at 3:46, Frank pulls out all the tricks to finish the song -- great phrasing, the use of his hands, etc. At 4:00, I've rarely seen him so happy on stage. And then the purring voice at 4:14. This is a go-to feel good video for me.
I always viewed this as one of the the most incredible performances of all-time.
It is, by far
This is one of the greatest performances ever caught on film. It doesn't - it can't - get any better than this.
He clearly was the MAN . He was able to connect with every age group and that itself is amazing .
Wow. As a rock n roll fan myself this guy FS had a lot of Rock n Roll in him. His phrasing and buildup of his volume and diction brings the song to a climax at the end and sends the audience in frenzy.
There will never ever be a performer like Frank Sinatra. Never .
He really should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as an Early Influence. He really was a rock star before there was one.
Miles Davis once said that he learned all he needed to know about phrasing from listening to Frank.
The guy OWNS the audience! Just when they’re getting wound up (clapping ON the beat…..😂), he subtly says “Shhhhh…..” and the room goes SILENT!
this was one of the best shows ever shown on tv up to the time and maybe of all time. he came out of retirement. his voice, hoarse at the beginning, warmed up to an unbelievable performance. all reviews were spectacular in calling it what it was, a mature fully formed sanitra at the top of his game surrounded by the famous friends of course. rpc
+Richard Condon not even hoarse!

Meu brother você disse tudo!!👍👍🍺🍺
Eu posso morrer hoje e vou feliz por ter assistido esse show em minha temporada em NY que tanto AMO!!!Nova York vou sempre te amar!!!👍👍🍺🍺🍺
How as Americans, we miss an entertainer like this who loved what he did to and for his fans and never ever did anything less than his best. Thanks Mr. Sinatra
His best performance..."Cole Porter's shining hour"...
Urbie Green, majestic trombone as always!
my favourite song" let me try again" and " and i've got you under my skin" super! super!
The master in complete command of the audience, leading them on an unbelievable musical journey. Forget it - no one will ever come close to him again.
Foi uma noite inesquecível,eu estava lá e nunca esqueci!!!👍👍🍺🍺

Why was Frank having them beat you in the first place?

If I could travel back in time for just 5 minutes, this is where I would be.
FANTASTIC....as usual.....The one and only FRANKIE Sinatra. He takes my breath away....that superb diction of his.....he's awesome.... !!!!!!
On holiday in the Caribbean, in the sun, listening to the magic of old blue eyes at his best. What a performer. Indeed The Main Event! Si
The twice-over acknowledgment of Cole Porter is pure old school masculine class.
That lady rolling her eyes gets me every time...
Happy Heavenly 104th Birthday Frank = LOVE
All I can say as a young man who was not fortunate enough to see Old Blue Eyes ever perform live, that was amazing.
Saw him in his last performance in Radio City Music Hall, he was 80, I was 27, he forgot the lyrics of My Way!! He is Frank Sinatra 🤭
Woody Hermann and his Thundering Hurd.
this for me the great singer for ever respect
Mr.Sinatra was A class act until the end, RIP/Chairman of the Board, & yes,,,you did it Your way... Salutatio ~

He was having fun. They don’t make them like that anymore.😌
50% of the time I love Rock+Roll and the other 50% I love Frank Sinatra and The Rat Pack.
Amo a este hombre, amo su música, el 6a murió lo sé pero para mí seguirás vivo.

HELP - What was that song???
Well meet again
Did they edit the record that came out on this concert? Ol Black Magic was taken out and where does it hurt you was not left in.
The concert that was broadcasted was the last of a series of six that Sinatra gave at Madison Square Garden in October 1974. So its most likely that the album consists of different recordings from those 6 concerts.
The best.
1:30 Love this! That cross section of New Yawkas from that era.....

Take Them To School Frank.

+Alan Murrie He played MSG on back to back nights. I heard he was in better voice the first night....
Nelson Riddle's arrangement is what helped Frank sell this song.
He got all the chicks in the audience excited. HE GOT 'EM ALL EXCITED! Then he took them backstage. What he did with & to little baby chickens backstage at Madison Square Garden, I mean, let's just not go into it, okay? alright? Forget I even brought it up.
