Cannon should be dismissed
It's a lifelong position. I'm not happy about it, either.
She should be sent to jail this is obvious corruption
People have been giving her the benefit of the doubt, but she's as dirty as Justice Thomas.
Thomas gave her the idea to do this in a written opinion.

Thomas put this suggestion to her and knew she would implement it, so that in the future it would give him an out as to why he couldn’t have a special counsel appointed to investigate his own corruption.

What's to prevent The US Attorney for the District of New Jersey, who is not a special counsel, from indicting Trump for the same conduct because the documents were also hidden in Bedminster, NJ?

It is not necessary. There is plenty of precedent including cases which went up to the Supreme Court which agreed that special counsel could be employed. This case will be overturned on appeal. Cannon is just wrong and corrupt.
@@robertvanruyssevelt7159 Yes, you are right about the appeal, and right about Cannon's corruption. But Trump will seek review in the SCOTUS and it will go on forever. My suggestion is faster and there are no Trump appointees in the District of New Jersey. Smith should have proceeded in New Jersey from the start instead of filing in a venue where he had a one-third chance of drawing Cannon.
She's not smart enough to have timed this the way she did. She had others telling her exactly what to do and when to do it.
She was coached by Clarence Thomas from the start.

Let's also remember that Trump, the Great White Sharter, will be back in front of Judge Merchan in September, which _is_ before the election. Merchan will never forget the outrageous disdain and abuse DT showed to him, his family, his courtroom and the jury. Many legal experts who know him say that there's a more-than-half chance of a prison term.

Over the last few weeks, I've increasingly had the feeling this is goodbye and good luck America. It never occurred to me you may not be able to protect your own country.

So WHY did not the Chief Judge of that District not flatly take the case away from Corrupt Cannon in the first place?
They couldn't. It would take the 11th circuit to do that. And even they couldn't do that until she made an actual ruling.
Now she has, and now she is off the case. She will be reversed, and the case will start again.

@@FionaKelleghan111As I understand it, Jack Smith can appeal this ruling to the 11th circuit and also file a request with the 11th circuit to have Cannon recused from the case. If granted, Cannon would be removed from this case, which would get assigned to a different judge. Cannon would still be able to preside over other cases that come before her court.

He had to wait for Trump to announce. That is the total reason any of these cases were even filed. You can take this to the bank "If Trump would have never ran not a single case would ever have been filed" It is called Political Persecution
This dismissal was Cannon's Plan B. Her first idea was to seat a jury and then dismiss the case so it couldn't be retried. That explains her screwball proposed jury instructions last April for which she was roundly ridiculed. Then Justice Thomas' dissent came out & she decided to ditch the case now. This is how it reads to me.
How did it come to this? I deeply believed the United States could robustly uphold the rule of law. You must be devastated Harry
too many people did not like Hillary Clinton in 2016 - they had a lot of help from our adversaries but there was a lot riding on that election - and we as a country failed catastrophically

Donald Trump was elected president and with the help of Mitch McConnel appointed over 300 judges to the judiciary - and probably not many of them are qualified - or not extremely prejudiced
