They have lifetime warranty
Five years ago I bought the drill bit set.Every time I used a bit I dulled them after a couple holes or shattered the tip. I felt they were such crap I didn't bother to get them replaced. The bigger ones won't even drill one hole. About half are still in the set unused and will stay that way.
Everyone forgets the second half of this saying
“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but will always defeat a master of one”
Only problem I found with the grinding wheel is that it is a lot slower than a regular cut off wheel and grinding wheel used on steel. Other wise it holds up great.
Did you also notice how it jumps around on stainless instead of delivering a smooth cut??
I don't believe a better wheel exists for grinding through rust. It puts off less dust in the air then a walter zip and the rust nuggets flying off were a lot courser.
A Jack-of-all-trades is a master of none, but oftentimes is better than a master of one.
I'm thinking of getting a 4.5" bad dog grinding wheel and this was really helpful. I'm a full time welder so I'd be using it every day. If I never had to buy another grinding wheel that'd be awesome
How'd it go ?
💥 Nice tool review, I’m going to look into that cut off wheel because I agree. Those aluminum oxcide discs don’t last long and can be dangerous.
*Keep on tractoring!*
Great job Brock. If you look at cost per year, the high priced stuff is much cheaper. If you use it enough. If you only replace a cheap one once or twice a year, then its a bit of a coin toss. It may be worth it if you factor in down time to change wheels or need to go get a new one because you just broke the old one.
I've bought 4.5" and 7" HDII flush grinding/cutting wheels. I'm pretty impressed after a couple weeks cutting bolts, grinding rusty steel and cutting angle iron. We'll see how it goes when it's time to replace.
Excellent review. Very well explained and very thorough! Thank you
Good review. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!
Tha absolute strongest drill bit I found was the rock river pro series step drill bit, we get about 300 holes through hardened steel before it needs to be replaced, any other bit I've ever tried gets about 10 to 30 holes at best.
Now that's also a $70 drill bit.
I kinda wonder who will pay the shipping on those bit replacements. I bet they would not like you showing up at the show to exchange broken bits.
Good review as I been changing my grinding wheel thinking also. Never heard of this brand might might have to try if only have to buy once. Happy Thanksgiving Brook 🦃👍✊
Should try out the orange walter flap wheels. Far superior to any other brand iv used. And you can trim them down for extended usage
Interesting. I agree... if the grinding wheel has a true lifetime warranty, that is a hell of a value. Specially if it works as well on all the materials he stated on the demo (tile, metal, concrete, etc).
I gotta stop watching you and the Hardy Brothers reviews... you guys are going to cost me a fortune... lol! Good job and thanks for sharing! 🤠
Great video man. Thanks!
I just got one of the cut off wheels at Conexpo. I'm excited too give it a try because I'm sick of changing wheels too!!
You should of sent the drill bits back ,They will replace them . I still have my set from over 15 -17 years ago. I even took one to a show and they replaced it for me .
I love the flap disc. I haven't bought a regular grinding wheel in years. But I'm gonna have to look into one of those diamond wheels. I'll burn threw a 10 pack in no time.
The grinding wheels are GREAT!! The drill bits work just not like a regular bit. They do stand by their warranty.
That is the same experience I had.
How does the diamond cut off wheels do on cutting soft metal, like aluminum. Does the aluminum melt and stick to disc?
I’ve seen a very similar demonstration where the company guy did it VERY easy, but I just missed out on winning the big teddy bear!
That cutoff wheel is currently (April 2024) retailing at $179.00!
But will it carve a turkey? Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
Where’s your guard on your grinder?
In the trash where it belongs lol
how many times will they replace same tool? people dont always ship back for return or bother with pictures company's rely and figure this into production . same as u with 1-2 bits.
i believe bad dog is better marketing then actual tools. the master's billy mays /ron popeil
I'm wondering how it fares with aluminum. I have to work with a lot of it and it just fucks everything up.
I purchased a set of drillbits and grinding wheel at Pate in Dallas,Tx and I was totally disappointed with them.
I was disappointed in the drillbits, but happy with the grinding wheel. The grinding wheel is probably over priced though.
I guess to really support the review maybe if you included what the result was when you submitted the spent or broken tool to the supplier.
That would probably have sent this tool review to the " A + " category instead its just a " C+ "
Don't get me wrong Brock ,the presentation was great , but now we all are wondering if it's worth the extra if we don't have that question resolved ...... I'm just saying.....
pc
I agree. If you read online reviews it does seem like they replace them but I haven’t done it myself.
Warrior is harbor freight and they are like 13$
I don't know firsthand but I've heard that you have to send them prepaid your drill bits that's busted up and burnt up tips and you also have to send them extra money for the return postage. And if they have to sharpen it it takes him an extremely long time to get them back to you and they do a very poor job at it.. the insert being off center from the rest of the drill bits, what.. Is this for real?
The drill bits cutting edge break fairly easily when drilling mild steel. You cant get your money back, but you can spend more to refurbish a bit that will break again. Not worth the dollars to return.
Lowes will still rebuild or replace any craftsman hand tools
Why did you yourself show us how good or bad they are?
Rockhill farm have you ever tried the predator cut off wheels before??? I definitely got tired of going through cut off wheels every time I needed to cut something!!! At around roughly 3.00$ each for cut off wheels and useing more than two or three just to get something cut it can get quite expensive!!! I had a Fastenal sales person that would stop by to keep are bolt Bens full and get a few other products from them I thought I’d ask them if they had any cut off wheels that would actually last longer??? He asked me if I had tried the predator cut off wheels before and I said no!! What is the difference in them and other cut off wheels?? He said they had like a wax mixed in with the materials used in the blades!!! I asked how much they was and he said that they was a little bit higher in price!! I can’t remember how much but not more than a couple dollars more!!! After using them I could definitely tell the difference when I would only have to use one to cut something I needed to cut!! I’d definitely love to see a video on the predator cut off wheels and see what you think of them?????? I’m always looking for products that will do a much better job and be able to get the job done safe and faster also!!!! Please let me no if you have ever herd of them and like I said I definitely love to see a video about them!!! Awesome video and remember keep up all the hard work!!!!
I have not used those. Thanks for sharing.
Funny he said drill bits were carboloy or carboloid as many misheard on the internet. It is common carbide from a cheap brand in india. Maybe has lower content of cobalt to make it less stiff and more durable. Or maybe they even made the carbide better somehow then tell me for research
Guys. I'm in south africa and we run through easy 400 1mm cutting disks a month.
I can't get hold of them. Would like to get a view to start replacing ours. Who can get me connected with them
bad dog try to drill a estwing -not like sears i worked there years ago , drive to sears get new tool same trip very reliable very well built, still have craftsman from 60s . i saw tools = anvil 1911 it broke no longer stock they gave , current retail of same size on market. they stopped quality/customer service thats why they r gone.
Gotta say, if anyone really thought those drill bits did it all……they probably had a bit of sun in their eyes!
I’ve heard they don’t like replacing shit without paying for it
If it was me I would be getting on the phone, and getting them replaced with a new one.
They don’t sell warrior at Home Depot bub
insane pricing
The problem that I can see to replace the flapp discs and grinding discs with the diamond one is that the flapp disc petrude under the central hub so it's easier to reach without the hub beign in the way. no issue if there's noting in the way but a normal inside corner will be a bit of an issue since ther will be another iron bar if you want to reach the middle of the joint.
They specifically say use high speed for the drill bits and you used low speed and got mediocre results 😄
They melted. Literally liquefied when I ran them at high-speed.
@@RockhillfarmYT they will melt if ruin the tip then try to use them at high speed. It's noted on the website
the cutoff wheel i use approx 2-3 hrs a day for about 6 yrs. i do fabrication. i broke one, cutting to hard but got replaced. best product ever . i used 6 -8 cut off wheels a day, sometimes more. so so far have saved 1000.00 plus. the drills are great, have drilled everything. the drills in steel need to be spun 2000 rpm plus,if not dont work, not made too and they tell you that.
just give em a call and get a replacement
👍👍👍👍👍
They will replace it in two months at your cost and convince 😂
Dude.... You removed the guard from your angle grinder. This disqualifies you to talk about safety in any form AT ALL! Oly idiots use a grinder without the guard.
It’s $100 on their website
Good to know. I must have been looking at the wrong one
How and where do i get hold of them to buy a disk @RockhillfarmYT
It literally says inside the index that the drillbits have to be run fast in metal. Not slow with cutting lubricant like you said you did. I’ve owned these drillbits for 25 years and they’ve worked great but they are high RPM no cutting lubricant drillbits so you are doing everything wrong. Another failed review. Gulp.
I’ve done it that way too. They melted.
Bad dog tools are junk and their customer service treats you like crap
It’s a gimmick for many years
So no gaurd on your grinder and that rigid cut off wheel can explode just like the regular cut off wheels. Actually probably more dangerous when it does break. Stress cracks form and so on. Next time for take out the battery pack for safety when doing a comparison video 👍👍
The gaurd on covers your ass if the wheel fails and if you get hurt. No guard then it's on you.
Not everyone is a fairy 😂😂
