Actually seems like y’all have made a worthwhile practice mod. Having rounds of friendlies where every little missed tech gets called out with a death sounds like great conditioning haha
Only problem is that dragdowns are absolutely unrealistically ridiculous to the point that gameplay can easily turn into fishing for them which just makes gameplay quality worsen. Fishing for stuff in general is just an issue since the risk reward is so skewed, actually.
this is the perfect conclusion to the "everything is techable" mod something like this could honestly be a spirit in the main game a HUGE advantage if you re skilled enough to use it, being virtually unkillable under the right circumstances but a giant risk attached to it, which also doesn't exactly help you to be calm, which you kinda need would be really cool to have that as a choice against other spirits teams
no tech death mode would be really good at teaching people to tech. surprised there arent modes like this that teach these mechanics in the base game tbh
There are some instances where it's actually better not to tech...😅 That being said, this is a real eye opener as to how many times teching is actually an option! Seems like fun too! 😂
ah, I don't think it would work, sadly. Can't use a reflector, multi hits might break, what about attacks that are items, can't use recovery moves, corrins charged fsmash hitbox would be wack, etc etc etc
@@itloaf counterpoint: it would be funny. In all fairness, you are very right, although perhaps reflectors that lack hitboxes would still work. Perhaps it could be implemented that if the entire move plays out without a hitbox making contact with the opponent, then the death happens. this would mean only one hit of a multi-hit would have to connect for it to not kill
It would have been better if instead of outright dying you instead got put into a duration of stun based on the knockback. Small amounts of knockback would result in a slight tickle, while missing a spike tech would result in a solid few seconds. Another fun idea would be to make the tech instantly actionable, allowing you to get right back into the fight frame-of.
Just letting everyone know that not teching can sometimes be a good option as well even just as a mixup. Don‘t think not teching is always bad. For instance no tech neutral get up rewards you with more invulnerability frames.
Holding the button down is not recommended. Just press it once and don't press anything else, then it's buffered until your character hits the wall/ground. Grüße aus Deutschland :)
It really looks like this is killing before the last techable frames end a lot of the time, like it requires an early tech and a late tech isn't good enough. Which isn't exactly in the spirit of the mod. You're messing up and dying so much because the techs this mod needs are actually harder than normal techs.
Agreed, you can normally tech during the recoil animation at the start of when you hit the ground/wall, but in this mod you die the frame you touch the ground
As soon as I looked at that thumbnail I was freaking dying, because it instantly reminded me of that scene in SpongeBob where Squidward fell off a cliff then exploded when he touched the ground!🤣
What happens when Charizard lands after connecting Flare Blitz or when Banjo tries to use Wonderwing without any feathers? Do they just die? And what about hard-coded untechables like Sword of the Creator at higher % and aerial Flame Choke?
Yes, this game is amazing, but it would've been miles better if they would've added these little things such as the training mode pack and this mod in the base game so you didn't have to worry about modding for just basic QoL.
Now this is a genuine "could've teched it" moment
This Mod needs to be shared to the Underdogs, Party Crashers and Top Players.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Nick or the party crashers got this mod because Nick also gets mods from the same person
@@bananaplane5494 and he gets the most cursed fucking mods, so I doubt he won’t get this one
Every missed tech is one ingredient in Zack’s smoothie
10:45 was to hype. c5 may have lost the battle but dude was a stallion in the moment.
EL SEPTIMO TECH DE JESUS
This is what missing a tech feels like in the vanilla version
Actually seems like y’all have made a worthwhile practice mod. Having rounds of friendlies where every little missed tech gets called out with a death sounds like great conditioning haha
I actually just thought the same- play with this on for a month and you'll actually never miss your techs
@@mrknotsor you'll never play the game again
True but sometimes you will want to getup attack and also if you tech everytime your opponents will read you techs and punish you
@@iyad7148 after two weeks of tech only, you add back no tech as an option and learn how to deal with them, too
Only problem is that dragdowns are absolutely unrealistically ridiculous to the point that gameplay can easily turn into fishing for them which just makes gameplay quality worsen.
Fishing for stuff in general is just an issue since the risk reward is so skewed, actually.
The DK Ryu fight was unreal. You guys are tech gods once you warm up
this is the perfect conclusion to the "everything is techable" mod

From "everything can be teched"
To "everything must be teched"
We Tech Those!
In all seriousness, this is a cool mod to give a better incentive to practice teching (minus dying).
Dude, this is the shit I sub for. Thank you again guys. That C5 freezeframe gave me a hearty belly-laugh!
This would have been the perfect video to reveal a “could’ve teched it” shirt
Great idea! Very fitting for the channel and opens the player’s eyes to how often they don’t tech.
Easily one of the best Beefy Smash Doods videos recently.
10:50 "El tech de Jesús"
The tech of Jesus - ssb 4
no tech death mode would be really good at teaching people to tech. surprised there arent modes like this that teach these mechanics in the base game tbh
Best video hands down. So much fun to watch you guys have a blast.

This was fantastic, especially the sequence between DK and Ryu. Need another ep with this mod.
This is the best self report ever. Great mod Wuboy!
Edit: well, it was a self report… until 10:50 and 13:29
15:10 lol the beyond belief dramatic exposition music
8:29 Banjo & Kazooie
I don’t know if they can ever say “Could’ve teched it” again in Smash Review after this.
You could have teched that, guys...
Could have teched it intensifies
This legit made my morning - laughed my ass off when i heard the premise of this in the intro
this was so fun to watch lol, loved it
QB intro feels nostalgic now
New Idea I came up with by misreading the title: if an attack doesn’t hit your opponent, you die! Anti - whiff
So no recover?
ah, I don't think it would work, sadly. Can't use a reflector, multi hits might break, what about attacks that are items, can't use recovery moves, corrins charged fsmash hitbox would be wack, etc etc etc

Just tech the air
I was like "cFive is really good at this" then he gets hit with something like 8:16 - 8:22 😂
YOOOO WE GOT A QUESTIONABLE BEEF INTRO IN CURRENT YEAR?!?!?!
As someone who rarely techs when needed, that stage you made would be good practice
Just letting everyone know that not teching can sometimes be a good option as well even just as a mixup. Don‘t think not teching is always bad. For instance no tech neutral get up rewards you with more invulnerability frames.
Dayum! The DK vs Ryu part with chained shoryus was hype!
The Kazuya experience for any character
With this mod, it's a shame that Mushroomy Kingdom 1-2 isn't in Ultimate.
fun new mod, bsd! great exercise in teching!
You should do this mod again on more casual stages
This mod is my worst enemy
He could've teched it
B&K failed side-B? Pac-Man side-B bonk?
This mod can legit teach me how to tech good
Fr! Im so bad at it that i wish it was a actual mode.

What a great learning experience lol
This was pretty insane. Really cool mod

Should of teched
Great vid! You guys definitely need to find more game modes where you’re both competing 😂
Surprisingly, best mod ever featured in the channel
Please do a part 2 of this!
POV: the strictest and most necessary way to learn tech
This theme is perfect!!
After seeing this, you guys are not allowed to say "Could have teched it" anymore.
What happens when Charizard lands after connecting Flare Blitz or when Banjo tries to use Wonderwing without any feathers? Do they just die? And what about hard-coded untechables like Sword of the Creator at higher % and aerial Flame Choke?
Questionable beef is back!?!?!
What if you try to DI closer to the walls? To increase the speed/likelihood of making a tech situation?
Damn guys. You could've teched, skill issue
Thank you for doing this! And so fast too!
adding the always techable is amazing too, that looks real fun to play
Why didn't he use aerial flame choke? It can't be teched
Can’t believe no one busted out Sonic down throw
Next time cfive complains about missing a tech he should rewatch this
the funniest mod i’ve seen
Next mod is if you don't perfect shield you get ko'd
One of my favorite sonic songs
Someone should make a custom stage thats just the bottom part of temple
I feel called out for not knowing how tech 💀
you should tech, NOW.
I found out you can get a 314 combo in training with Falco O_O
WuBoy the goat
Should've try chrom with up b and down tilt
Ok I wasn't expecting QB to return
11:09 he could have teched it.

“YoU sHoUd’Ve TeChEd iT!1!!!11!1”
I need this because i have a habit of not teching😂😂😂
Now add Squad Strike.
"Should've teched."
Please smashdown with this haha
This is amazing😂
by the looks of it, you all needed the practice.
You could’ve teched that
Should’ve teched it
good practice mode
I love how shamelessly cheesy this mod is
Tech Box character tier list like ladder smash?
Please tell me questionable beef is back with punishments
man i missed that questionable beef intro it been too long
a 14 minute intro for a 1 and a half minute video XD
Could've teched it
Could’ve teched it.
This looks like fun lol, I wish it was in vanilla
Now do it reverse and make a mod that teched automatically
He could have teched it tho
“He could’ve teched that” nearly 300 episodes of calling out other players in clips…
And look who’s missing techs now 😂😂😂
NOW WHO MISSES TECHS!!!!
Could've tech
Just like regular smash bros 😊
