Excellent video! I have one small correction for you if you're interested. Vitrification is not the actual process that we use to make pottery, generally speaking. That would require the ceramics to completely liquify, then cool down rapidly, creating a glass. Sintering is the proper word for the reaction. Sintering will pack and fuse particles together without changing its shape too much, add strength, and can operate below the true melting point of the material. Cool science!
Excellent content, brother! Im still deep in the abstract acrylic on canvas wormhole 😜🌌 but sculpture of some type will most likely be the next iron that goes in to my Fire-of art!!💁♂️👌🏼 Lets talk soon, fam!☮️
Can I set my electric kiln so it starts in the middle of the night and turns off during the school day? Reason being that the toxic fumes burn off and vent out a couple hours before school starts.
Yes, if you have a digital kiln you can add a delay to the firing program, but not on a older manual kiln. If you can fire over the weekend, or start it the previous afternoon, that would insure that all gases/toxins have more time to vent out of the room before you or the students are in the class again.
