  • In today's episode of Aquaculture in the Caribbean, I feature Mother of 2, Ph.D. student at UWI Mona campus in Kingston Jamaica. Owner of Littel Hobby Hut Safari and an Alumni of the Branson Caribbean Accelerator.
In August I met up Nasheika for an Instagram live chat. We talked about STEM classes and studying the sciences in Jamaica, how she got into marine biology, how it led to a career in aquaculture and entrepreneurship, all while being a Mom.
Nasheika shares her passion for her Ph.D. studies. her invention of camera technology for measuring the size of fish catch mentoring other women who want to go into the business of producing brackish water tilapia.
In Jamaica, Aquaculture is traditionally a man's space but it is slowly opening up to more women. I hope to see more women in the future in the field of Aquaculture and aquatic foods.
I hope you enjoyed our talk. Please don't forget to Subscribe and Share
