First look at Oliver's scar

- Oliver had surgery last week to remove two noncancerous cysts, one from his right front leg and the other from his tail. Today we went back to the vet and he had the bandage removed from his leg, so we got to see how the wound is healing. There's a scar there, but his fur will eventually grow over it. He has some stitches, and it will be a couple of weeks before they will be removed. All in all, he's doing great! The tail will take longer to heal, but the vet changed the tail bandage and said that the wound from the surgery there is healing. Thanks so much for all of your comments and sympathy--we really appreciate your support.

I am too... it's really hard, because we can't explain to him why this is happening. Also, I wish he could tell us how he is feeling. We have pain medications we can use as needed if he seems especially sore, so I've been giving those to him in the morning and evening. He loves us and trusts us and we watch him carefully to make sure he isn't hurting himself. We'll get through this soon!

@@OlivertheBeagle It really is unfortunate that they can't communicate with us their pain levels. My Pansy is getting spayed the end of the month, so we'll be joining the canine cone club. by the time Pansy has her procedure, Oliver will be zooming around.

Aww, Poor little boy. We had a Cocker Spaniel with a few cysts removed and was amazed at how fast he healed. I'm sure Oliver will be back to his old self in no time. Kisses and hugs to Oliver.

I remember watching a lot of his videos around ~2019 when he was younger and I sort of disappeared from youtube for a while. Just remembered him today randomly and glad to see he is doing good. Hopefully his wound from the surgery heals up well! :)

Yes, I think we're going to use the air cone/Kong Cloud for his walk today! It's a bit less protective, but the cone of shame is just too unwieldy to use on walks.

@@519CZRacer We had 2 Lab Crosses, both 5 years apart. The difference between the two was hilarious. The older, our Lab/Neuphie was incredibly intelligent. The younger one, not so much. Both were best friends, once the younger one matured. That was back in the Nineties.
U must be over the moon with those precious pups. I’m biased but having that many furry friends is almost too much to handle. They are angels and best friend doesn’t say enough.

For my Gracie beagle I wished I could have done more ad she passed away unexpectedly. I would have done anything but I did spoil her.
@@DM-ei6oo Our profound condolences for your loss. Two years ago we lost Andy's litter mate sister, Belle to a sudden massive attack of kidney failure. Losing her at ten was gutted us. We were blessed when a six year old female beagle came across our internet search on kidney disease in beagles. It turned out she's an Envigo lab survivor. Its a case of who save who?
I'm sure you did your best for Gracie. One day or twenty years, you obviously loved her dearly. Stay strong, and if you decide to adopt another pup, there are literally thousands of fur babies that could use your love.

Beagles are sturdy & strong. Our beagle has been through operations and health issues in the past and she will turn 15 in October. The vet told us she is doing well. Cysts and lipomas are very common in dogs as they grow older. Good luck, Oliver!😘
