What a lovely little village Troutbeck is. So glad you stopped for some tea in that weather but I know what you mean about once you stop it’s difficult to get going again, as I’m the same. September is usually lovely weather but due to the dry summer it was a bit wet this year. Glad you braved it for us because it’s got wonderful views up there. Troutbeck was a lovely little place, and that teashop was a very welcome stop under the circumstances. Thankfully I managed to push myself to go back out afterwards! Tha climb was tough onto Wansfell Pike, but very much worth it. Thanks Kelly as always for taking the time to watch and for commenting. All the best 👍
Just shows how the Lake District weather can change so very quickly, and that you had your water proofs packed. Many visitors walking the fells aren't similarly prepared. In Lakeland “There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.” - Alfred Wainwright
Thank you Patrick. Hubby and I have enjoyed this one and your last one today during break times from decorating etc. They're both lovely walks and you can't beat a cuppa when you'r out. That's why we take a jetboil type cooker with us. Ultra light and as many hot drinks as you need 👌 😍

What a stunning place. I remember the climb up Wansfell being a bit of a tough one. My take on the weather in the Lakes is to watch the forecast and then completely disregard it and prepare for every eventuality! The revolving gate scene made me smile. If someone has built it then we should use it, unless wearing a large rucksack that is! Really enjoyed your Lake District adventures. I’m looking forward to my own trip there in a couple of weeks

The weather in the Lakes is renowned for being wet a lot, but thankfull this walk was still great to film even in the rain. That revolving gate is brill isn't it! So interesting to see places I haven't been to before. Stockghyll Force certainly impressive with its waterfalls. I think my memories of the Lake District has usually been hilly. As you say great views once on top. Not often seen you with your hood up but the weather has been unpredictable. Troutbeck seemed more relaxing. Can't beat a tearoom on route! Hope you enjoyed your ride on the buses. (Your music sounded familiar to me too. Perhaps from a previous film.)
Stockgyhll Force was fab, so it was great to film that en route. Definitely needed my hood up here. Of course when I film local walks, I can pick and choose my days, but I just had to film what I could whilst I was staying in the Lakes for this particular week. That tearoom was lovely and could quite easily have stopped there longer. The bus rides were great. Just buy a ticket for £9 and you can ride all day anywhere in the central Lakes. Yes this music was an extended version of the same theme used in the last film. Thanks Shanita for watching 👍
Nice catching up again Patrick. Loved the video. Brings back memories of doing the falls and Wansfell back in 2019, although I must have come down a different way as I am pretty sure I did not go down into Troutbeck. I have a lot of catching up with your videos.

Hi, I have been to the Lake District several times on my trips to UK from NZ. My last time was in 2010 and we did Wansfell Fell as our last walk before returning to Manchester. We walked down to Troutbeck and has a beer in the "Mortal Man" pub. Must have gone back to Ambleside via the same route as you. Cheers. David Henson
That was a plod up to the fell Patrick. Nothing more you can do when it's that steep - gets you there to them fine views. Watched end to end as always and enjoyed your amble into the tea shop. I have a walk lined up around Talgarth with a tea shop in mind to. Nothing better! Good to hear of the bus and beer to although I don't drink. If you'd caught me 14 years ago I would have had a few with you on trail. Well, I trust you've been well. We've had a spot of rain eh? Needed! Until next time all the best as always. Mark
It was a brilliant climb Mark, quite long, but the path was easy to follow, as it was down the other side to Troutbeck, and by the time I reached the top I was just buzzing. The views were awesome indeed despite the rain. I enjoyed that little stop in the teashop. Ah Talgarth, not been there for many years. I know you'll have a great time walking around there Mark. Yeah it was nice riding on the buses all day, bit like what I used to do with the Red and White service buses around the Wye Valley and Hereford. I didn't have much to drink to be honest, but it was just nice to leave the car and enjoy a ride on the bus and have a drink in a couple of Lake District hostelries. Anyway off to lead a group walk for Lou and Lol in a while, so looking forward to that. Always good to hear from you Mark, hope you're keeping well too. All the best down there 👍

So interesting to see places I haven't been to before. Stockghyll Force certainly impressive with its waterfalls. I think my memories of the Lake District has usually been hilly. As you say great views once on top. Not often seen you with your hood up but the weather has been unpredictable. Troutbeck seemed more relaxing. Can't beat a tearoom on route! Hope you enjoyed your ride on the buses. (Your music sounded familiar to me too. Perhaps from a previous film.)
Stockgyhll Force was fab, so it was great to film that en route. Definitely needed my hood up here. Of course when I film local walks, I can pick and choose my days, but I just had to film what I could whilst I was staying in the Lakes for this particular week. That tearoom was lovely and could quite easily have stopped there longer. The bus rides were great. Just buy a ticket for £9 and you can ride all day anywhere in the central Lakes. Yes this music was an extended version of the same theme used in the last film. Thanks Shanita for watching 👍

Nice catching up again Patrick. Loved the video. Brings back memories of doing the falls and Wansfell back in 2019, although I must have come down a different way as I am pretty sure I did not go down into Troutbeck. I have a lot of catching up with your videos.

Hi, I have been to the Lake District several times on my trips to UK from NZ. My last time was in 2010 and we did Wansfell Fell as our last walk before returning to Manchester. We walked down to Troutbeck and has a beer in the "Mortal Man" pub. Must have gone back to Ambleside via the same route as you. Cheers.

That was a plod up to the fell Patrick. Nothing more you can do when it's that steep - gets you there to them fine views. Watched end to end as always and enjoyed your amble into the tea shop. I have a walk lined up around Talgarth with a tea shop in mind to. Nothing better! Good to hear of the bus and beer to although I don't drink. If you'd caught me 14 years ago I would have had a few with you on trail. Well, I trust you've been well. We've had a spot of rain eh? Needed! Until next time all the best as always. Mark
It was a brilliant climb Mark, quite long, but the path was easy to follow, as it was down the other side to Troutbeck, and by the time I reached the top I was just buzzing. The views were awesome indeed despite the rain. I enjoyed that little stop in the teashop. Ah Talgarth, not been there for many years. I know you'll have a great time walking around there Mark. Yeah it was nice riding on the buses all day, bit like what I used to do with the Red and White service buses around the Wye Valley and Hereford. I didn't have much to drink to be honest, but it was just nice to leave the car and enjoy a ride on the bus and have a drink in a couple of Lake District hostelries. Anyway off to lead a group walk for Lou and Lol in a while, so looking forward to that. Always good to hear from you Mark, hope you're keeping well too. All the best down there 👍

Yeah, Talgarth will be good - a nice short route following the Llynfi on the anniversary of Paul's passing. We loved that river walk from source. Like you I look forward to the bus again. Thanks David, glad you liked the music. Everything I play is on my Yamaha keyboard, but the voices used here are a guitar solo with a synthesised string accompanyment. It was nice to be able to make 3 films whilst I was here in the Lakes. All the best👍
