Hi, I've seen that R500 is lvlp and Mini 888 is hvlp. Is there too much difference talking about air consumption? I have a 24L air compressor, and I don't know if it will be suitable for painting some expansion vessels. What do you think? Thanks

      Greetings,
If you are using a 24L compressor I would look at the Mini 888. I typically try to use no less than 10 gallons or 38L when painting IF it is a big vehicle.
The Mini 888 has a 10-12" (250-300mm) fan pattern, so it can compete with larger spray guns. You can get it with a 1.2, 1.0 & 0.8 fluid tip. The 1.2 works well all around unless you have very small parts to paint.
I hope this helps, I will put together a video on smaller compressors and smaller spray guns in the future to see if I can find a good combination.
I think with the 24L compressor the Mini 888 will be a good spray gun for you. 😎

I wonder if you could heat up the spring with a torch and make it softer too.

That is an idea, I may have to check into that.

How is the gun holding up?

Great question, I've been using it almost a year and have had zero issues. It has been a great addition to my spray-gun squad.

Interesting......whats the appropriate operating Air pressure does it say ? 🤔

I have run this anywhere from 20-28 psi. It just depends on how large of a part I'm spraying. It atomises high solids clear really well around 26-28 psi basecoat around 20-24.

As much as I love trying new guns, i'm pretty much done for now. I already have a Masterpro series 22 1.2 midi gun. So I just ordered the 0.8 cap and needle set to convert it to a quality mini/midi gun. Had it over a year and I use this gun for smaller jobs. Not as cheap. Its like $129 now. New cap n needle set is 29 bucks. My opinion, its a good quality gun.
The other gun I just purchased is none other than the Marc 1 eco.
Have not received it yet, but I am going to put it to work and then do a little video later on.
And that's it. Half a dozen guns in use. Iwatta and ANI for clear. Astro for base. Sprayit for small compressor work, masterpro for jambs and light work, and Marc 1 for....🤔...we will see? Matching factory peel? Base coat? FULL paint jobs? Can't wait to find out.
Dang, I ran long on the comments...again....

Yea, I used this on the mirrors for the Pole Hunter Camaro, I'm looking for the footage, I've not been able to locate it. The gun works very well.

It will be an excellent choice for those. I was surprised with how wide the spray pattern was. I used it at 25-27 psi for basecoat and 29-31 for clearcoat.

@3 Wheels & A Block thanks for the info, keen to get to grips with it. I don't paint much at all, odd thing hear and there so I think this will do the trick.

I've been impressed, much more fun than harbor freight offers at the price.
