I've gotten away from halo these past years since they can't keep anything consistent anymore. The design choices and story has changed dramatically along with gameplay elements. I hope this new one is going to change my mind. I'm waiting until coop is added for campaign before getting it but the multiplayer is ok. Nothing new to keep me playing though. This video helped spark my interest in the franchise again. Thanks.

Oh man I remember playing Halo ce with my mom's boyfriend really filling the gap of my dad being elsewhere. I remember when he called me up and told me Halo 2 was going to have dual wielding and I couldn't wait. I remember staying up multiple nights in a row fueled by mountain dew and Dr.pepper beating Halo 2 on legendary with my best friend. I remember my uncle buying Halo 3 legendary edition for me and waiting outside GameStop for the midnight launch with the entire parking lot taken over by Halo fans and 30 OG Xbox's all connected for two giant LAN parties. I remember getting the halo4 legendary edition and staying up all night with another best friend trading off every death or mission up until both of us tearing up at the end when Cortana sacrificed herself. Halo is a part of me. And many others like me. Thank you Bungie
FYI Kat died of the single Needle Rifle shot because of the glassing they had just barely missed. Glassing creates an EMP, thus knocking out energy shielding on the MJOLNIR armour so it only took one headshot to end Kat.
@@Banana-Boi sadly it wasnt in the game and all evidence points towards a needle rifle since a crystal pierced her head :(. But honestly i wouldve maybe liked the beam rifle better since that was the gun I remember from halo 2-3 :)

One of my favorite things from old games was the population counter and stuff like that just added to the sense of community. You'd look at where you live and wonder who the other dots were. Sooo happy I was able to play this amazing series growing up
Aw man. I don’t game as much as I used to, but halo has always been such an awesome world. Brought so many of my friends together with all of its iterations. I ended on Reach, and miss those good times. Thank you to the creators of the world that made it feel so real to a kid like me.
I wasn't around in Halos golden era, so my memories are more recent. But I find myself consistently returning to Halo Wars for a fun skirmish match and me and my best friend loved playing Reach as much as we loved sleeping over. My life has quite literally had development from Halo and it is by far my most beloved franchise.

I love the gameplay and art style of halo infinite so far and I'm hyped for the campaign! The only things that upset me are that you have to pay for literally 99% of the armor being behind a pay wall, it also feels like there are very little weapons and vehicles compared to the other ones, and almost every single one of the new weapons seem very lackluster and underpowered. Besides these things that can be easily changed if they listen I'm very much enjoying it so far

It just means that the greatest legends of the game will be the Blank Slates. The Default Armor wearing badasses that wreck everyone else's shit without paying a single dime. Demi-Gods of the Virtual Battlefield they yield to no one, and refuse to pay a single cent for cosmetics.
343i doesn't like the monetization either, but greedy Microsoft forced their hand (like they did with paid dlc for L4D on Xbox) With enough community feedback, 343i will have physical evidence to show Microshaft that it WILL not work
I agree with all of this, except the art style and I wanted to add that the customization / shader like Destiny customization options are lackluster. I liked being able to chose individual colors and mix and match, it gave more of a uniqueness to my Spartan.
I played Halo Reach a little, but loved the OG and hit my stride on Halo 2 in college, I bought an xbox series X and I expect this will be the only game I ever have for it. I haven't got to play multiplayer yet but I am really hoping for that Halo 2/ reach game flow. Good video.
Oh man! Halo was my entire childhood. My wife and I started playing through the series last night with CE and I made it a point to only use the original graphics. It was so nostalgic to run the The Library with her while she struggled to keep up and land those shotgun shots.
This is really helpful for someone like me who has got bits and pieces of the lore over time. My best friend and roommate got me into halo back when 3 came out and I been hooked since. Been needing a good lore video to compete with the knowledge lmao

Love the video! It’s so much fun living through all of the Halo games. I had no idea people thought Kay dying was dumb, I had to stop playing for a couple minutes after that. That was so shocking
Halo 3 came out on my birthday just a couple months after I had lost everything in a house fire. It got me through tough times and allowed me to stay connected to my friends and family while we were in a small rental home. I dont know what I would have done without it.
As a long time Halo fan since the CE release I can confidently say there were two main things that stuck with me all these years. First was the release of Halo CE and Halo 2 with LAN parties. I remember playing with my friends and my older cousin in his basement with little TVs hooked together and having a blast eating pizza. Those were the glory days. Second most impactful was Halo 3. The cinematics and trailers were not only emotional but they got me so hyped for this game unlike any other. Then the Forge came out and the custom game modes, map creation, zombiez etc. kept me busy for years. I loved making my own and playing other people mini games. It was some of the best times of my life.
As a non native english speaker, I sometimes forget there's a difference between "history" and "story". Came to get a resume of what happened before "Infinity" but this was about the franchise. It was so interesting that I went through the whole video.

Great video, clearly a lot of work put in it!! Reach and Halo 3 for me was the GOAT, one thing that was worthy to be mentioned was Clan gameplay which was competitive and linked to forge. Think it featured in most Halos mostly in Reach. But awesome to watch 👍🏻

Once you got in the mid 40s you constantly faced modders or players who bridged for host to enforce not getting matched against modders, but still giving them an edge. great video though! Did they pay you lol. The current customization is predatory and disrespectful to true fans. The progression system is also crap. Gameplay is solid AF tho
They could've done a better job for 5+ years of development imo. I'm limited to like 1 or 2 armor sets without the battle pass, which is lacking. Can't change the gender of the Spartan, can't customize colors and some of the colors are locked(???), gun variety feels lacking, no team slayer or free for all, etc. Not one to complain, but they could've done better. It's a solid 7/10 experience right now, at best.
Halo 4 has a special place in my heart. Didn’t know it was so poorly received. I dropped hundreds and hundreds of hours in multiplayer and I thought it was awesome
4 was poorly reviewed because everyone wanted Halo 3 pt.2 and didn't get it. Personally I think 4 was the best game in the series from the campaign to the multiplayer. I can't count how many hours I put into SWAT lol

it never looks as good in videos as it does when you actually play it, the first halo game i got at launch was 4 and i still remember the chills when you leave that tunnel and see Requiem’s skybox for the first time even though it was like 720p30. part of the beauty is experiencing it through Chief’s eyes and controlling what you see
i remember going from perfect dark on N64 to combat evolved on xbox and just being stunned by how amazing CE looked. And now we have 4k gaming which makes CE look prehistoric
The PC release of MCC was also a total disaster on release but they fixed that too. Started at the beginning, playing co op through the campaign with my kid after 4 dropped on MCC. I didn't know Spartan Ops was there to continue the story. He got home from school and we watch that opening cinematic when the Infinity rips through that Covenant carrier. We were completely blown away. thanks for everything Halo, thanks for making this video too.
i havent played a bad halo game, that says alot about the quality of the series, but halo 3 is the best video game i have ever played the story, gameplay and online multiplayer or above any other game made since
If you stand in the orange bubble they create, you gradually lose health over time. But it also implodes after a while which also deals damage, potentially being able to kill you if your health is low enough. The problem with that is they’re static and most people can easily just walk outside of the orange bubble before it implodes, which makes these grenades too easy to avoid. Trash grenade overall
I played Halo CE and Halo 2 offline with my cousins on the same Xbox, but when Halo 3 came out I remember coming home from school and my cousins telling me they got Xbox Live working. I rushed home and begged my parents to get me the wifi adapter for the back of the Xbox 360, lmao. Setting up Xbox Live was really complicated at the time, and NAT type cock blocked me for the first few days. My first time playing Halo 3 campaign I remember accidentally unlocking the Scout Helmet, and being shook how cool the helmet was. My first time playing Halo 3 on Xbox Live I remember me and my cousins loading up custom games on Valhalla and seeing the new mongooses and hornets was mind blowing. Then when ODST came out, the grind for Recon Helmet was real. It was an emotional time trying to get that thing.
8:35 - just to clarify, Bungie did not make the Havok physics engine. Havok was developed by an Irish middleware company of the same name in 2000 and was used in 40+ games before Halo 2.
While Bungie did say that it would be their "Halo Killer", im just happy that Bungie has kept with Destiny 2 for this long. I hope Infinite is good, planning on getting an Xbox myself

Did they pay you lol. The current customization is predatory and disrespectful to true fans. The progression system is also crap. Gameplay is solid AF tho
They could've done a better job for 5+ years of development imo. I'm limited to like 1 or 2 armor sets without the battle pass, which is lacking. Can't change the gender of the Spartan, can't customize colors and some of the colors are locked(???), gun variety feels lacking, no team slayer or free for all, etc. Not one to complain, but they could've done better. It's a solid 7/10 experience right now, at best.
@@Floridablaze97 you can technically change the gender by changing the voice. The armor doesn’t change though.

Halo 4 has a special place in my heart. Didn’t know it was so poorly received. I dropped hundreds and hundreds of hours in multiplayer and I thought it was awesome

The story mode was a bit underwhelming for me, and even annoying, but yeah the multiplayer was awesome
4 was poorly reviewed because everyone wanted Halo 3 pt.2 and didn't get it. Personally I think 4 was the best game in the series from the campaign to the multiplayer. I can't count how many hours I put into SWAT lol
Did actually enjoy the story tho? I actually loved the maps, but the enemy, the forerunners were not it for me

it never looks as good in videos as it does when you actually play it, the first halo game i got at launch was 4 and i still remember the chills when you leave that tunnel and see Requiem’s skybox for the first time even though it was like 720p30. part of the beauty is experiencing it through Chief’s eyes and controlling what you see
i remember going from perfect dark on N64 to combat evolved on xbox and just being stunned by how amazing CE looked. And now we have 4k gaming which makes CE look prehistoric

The PC release of MCC was also a total disaster on release but they fixed that too. Started at the beginning, playing co op through the campaign with my kid after 4 dropped on MCC. I didn't know Spartan Ops was there to continue the story. He got home from school and we watch that opening cinematic when the Infinity rips through that Covenant carrier. We were completely blown away. thanks for everything Halo, thanks for making this video too.

Even though ive played halo for years i still have no idea how halo 4's promethean grenades work
i think it just splits into smaller pieces that deal DOT damage and eventually explodes, correct me if im wrong since i never use those grenades
If you stand in the orange bubble they create, you gradually lose health over time. But it also implodes after a while which also deals damage, potentially being able to kill you if your health is low enough. The problem with that is they’re static and most people can easily just walk outside of the orange bubble before it implodes, which makes these grenades too easy to avoid. Trash grenade overall

I played Halo CE and Halo 2 offline with my cousins on the same Xbox, but when Halo 3 came out I remember coming home from school and my cousins telling me they got Xbox Live working. I rushed home and begged my parents to get me the wifi adapter for the back of the Xbox 360, lmao. Setting up Xbox Live was really complicated at the time, and NAT type cock blocked me for the first few days. My first time playing Halo 3 campaign I remember accidentally unlocking the Scout Helmet, and being shook how cool the helmet was. My first time playing Halo 3 on Xbox Live I remember me and my cousins loading up custom games on Valhalla and seeing the new mongooses and hornets was mind blowing.
Then when ODST came out, the grind for Recon Helmet was real. It was an emotional time trying to get that thing.

8:35 - just to clarify, Bungie did not make the Havok physics engine. Havok was developed by an Irish middleware company of the same name in 2000 and was used in 40+ games before Halo 2.
