If we follow the advise of these people the power grid will go down. Thousands people loose there job. Industries will go down. Less food in the super markets. Hospitals without electricity and people will die because of it. We are heading complete Europe in to the third world.
The climate is changing due to human activity, this is a fact. It is also a fact that we are experiencing hotter and more extreme weather. Whether or not you choose to act, protest or whatever, Nigel's comment about all science being debatable shows how absolutely corrupable he is.

You can freeze meat more easily, some veg just doesnt freeze well. There are even left wing people (economic... because capitalist and socialist(/communist) are economic arguments) that think everything will be all right without anybody doing anything.
Both the left and right who think the world will be 'fine' if humans just keep doing what they do, hoping for technological solutions, will find that those solutions will come too late for any real effect and that the world won't be 'fine'.

The death of bees can be fixed by replacing certain pesticides with others and by reducing the mites which cause colony collapse in the hives used by many farmers to pollinate their crop.
What would you suggest as an alternative?
Organic farming cannot feed the world with our current technology. People like yourself who dislike mechanized farming seem to be unaware of how many people would have to die if we used alternative methods. At least a billion people would starve to death, most of them in the developing world. It's easy to be against our current farming practices when you won't be the one starving to death.
I doubt you are aware of the emerging technologies which will dramatically reduce the usage of pesticides without reducing crop yields. For example the robots being developed which can roam fields and spot treat weeds instead of spraying an entire field.
More technology will solve the problem as it has in the past.

I live in Los Angeles, have all my life. The reason why California has to shut off electricity for millions is a multi variate issue. 2 of many would be we dont do controlled fires anymore due to climate change issues, which actually results in massive fires every 2-5 year's. also, power industry in California is not updating its infrastructure. we are dealing with power lines that were built in the 50s-60s..
