The Reform UK Party LTD, is a business with Farage being the majority shareholder. It is NOT a democratic party as Farage’s majority share gives him the absolute right to dictate the party’s policies, irrespective of those foolish people who have contributed £25 to his beer fund. Why is nothing being said about the party being undemocratic?
@keefrazak Whether or not it's run as a business is at the very least arguable. It is however NOT a business. It is a country. Reform is a business and registered as such.
As much as I despise Farage, your conclusion is incorrect. Political parties in the UK are not businesses with shareholders but membership-based entities regulated by the Electoral Commission. The Reform UK Party, like other parties, is not structured as a business, and while Nigel Farage is influential, he does not have the unilateral power to dictate policies as a "majority shareholder." Policies are determined through democratic processes involving member input, and member contributions fund legitimate party activities, not a "beer fund." The Reform UK Party, Labour Party, Conservative Party, and others are all membership-based entities regulated by the Electoral Commission. I believe having many smaller independent parties like the Greens and Reform is beneficial, similar to what we see in Europe. The era of a two-party system, where British voters have only two options and each party wields immense power, needs to change. They're thousands of ways to attack Farage, but this is not one of them and I think we need more smaller parties like the Greens/Reform/Corbyn etc, not less.
Very humorous, clever and accurate comment! Trouble is though, they are vetting their candidates and supporters and sacrifice them when they are found out and their abhorrent comments made public. Farage can try and distance himself from these characters as much as he likes, but there will be more and if they somehow manage to gain any seats in the House of Commons, I can guarantee that the press are going to hound them and investigative journalists are going to do some of their best work of their careers. Farage knows this and that is why he purposefully banks at the very private bank, Coutts. He should be aware that the truth always prevails.

Generally those on the left are unhappy because they feel they've got too much while other people don't have enough, and those on the right are unhappy because they feel they've not got enough while other people have got too much. The major difference is that those on the left see the rich and powerful as the source of the problem whereas those on the right see the poor and defenceless as the source of the problem. Again, I feel I have to point out for the hard of thinking that this is expressed in the most general terms; please don't come back with an argument along the lines of suggesting that Keir Starmers Curry was a crime of equal weight to Boris Johnson partying as thousands died and then lying about it. Unless of course you work for the Daily Mail, in which case you can f*ck off anyway.
@@gpw203 Aaaaand as predicted, the first tiresome reply from the hard of thinking. Only the terminally inattentive could write in to prove to everybody just how inattentive they are. If you're in a hole, stop digging.
Completely agree. My friends and I are all middle class and I can with 100% certainty say those who have grown up middle class all their lives are reform voters, while I grew up in a working class immigrant family who ,thanks to their hard work, now live comfortable middle class families, and we all are on the left of the political spectrum, although to varying degrees
I think, broadly speaking, it comes down to one side of the political spectrum have a very firm idea of how things are "supposed" to be, that there is some inherent, things "should" work this way of the world, in the grand scheme of things there is a correct way that things are meant to be, so the big picture is clear, but details are a distraction. And the other side have a very firm idea of what things "need" to be fixed, right now. They have the firm belief that some things just "have" to be reformed from the ground up, which means lots of changes to what is, and without as firm an idea of what the grand scheme, bigger picture should look like, it's unclear, however there are some super detailed sections of the picture. Which means the one side can be rallied to all focus on, and push to create the one big picture, which means resisting and deconstructing anything that doesn't look like it will fit into it, as they go. And the other side can be rallied to create these small detailed sections of the picture, and to try and restore bits that are damaged, even if they don't have matching paint, at the cost of a cohesive bigger picture... Essentially, dog whistle "othering" rhetoric works very well on people from the first group. And they will continually unitedly vote against their interests, while tunnel visioned on the goal. The second group are harder to rally in that way, and tend to respond to a few different calls for change, of their individual preference. And to this side's detriment, they often sit back and confuse their being accepting and 'not actively against human rights of X people' with being functionally equivalent to 'actively fighting to secure the rights of X people' and it's not.
I’m astonished that so many people will be voting for more immigration putting more pressure on wages, housing, hospitals, dentists, schools, trains, buses, prisons, roads, the police and other public services…..oh and higher taxes despite what they say!

Even Farage admitted that the UK needed medical & healthcare workers from abroad. The UK has a rapidly aging demographic & falling birth rate.
Thats easy. People on the left can give their excess income away. Like Oh Brian does.
@@acrodave9287 They'll dig themselves out, thank you very much. Keep digging, fella.

Ok mate 😂
It's an amalgamation of bitter remainers and middle class ex Tories who value virtue and revenge over the future and sustainability of their own country and kind. Most know how far its gone but they can't deviate from the narrative as it'll topple like a house of cards. It's personified in individuals like James O B and Carol V - both cut from the above cloth
Even Farage admitted that the UK needed medical & healthcare workers from abroad. The UK has a rapidly aging demographic & falling birth rate. It costs 10x as much to look after an old person in hospital, than a younger person. Without immigration, this country will simply descend into a literal death spiral.
Immigration benefits the economy. In fact it's essential to the economy as we haven't had enough kids for decades.
