Lovecraft protagonists usually go insane because they realize that humanity could be obliterated at any moment, and there is nothing they could do to stop it. One friendly monster smaller than a Shoggoth is not on that level of "make you insane" trauma.

Well from what I know,she actually does fit the definition of the word monster. Which is basically "something that is unusual or does not belong." So by this definition,she actually is absolutely a monster. But her being a monster does not automatically make her bad though. I will absolutely NOT argue about that or the fact. That she actually seems like she is actually more kind,thoughtful and caring than a lot of actual people are. So,she is basically a monster that is absolutely horrifying in her real form. The fact that she's a genuinely horrifying entity and not just an attractive woman with like a few inhuman attributes... it makes me happy. There's always been room for exploration in a reverse-beauty-and-the-beast story like this, but most artists tend to only like their female characters attractive, especially when they're love interests. Instead of exploring the actual emotional depth that the topic carries, it comes out cheap.
It sounds pretty minor, but that's how attraction works. Something about someone catches your attention. It can't even be considered affection at that point, but then you notice more things about them because you're paying more attention to them. And that just builds until that tiny, insignificant thing becomes the basis of genuine love. Anyway, what I mean to say is that everyone should go to their local library and start putting books on the shelves.
