That military roast tho. I had to use the California wildfires to put the fire out in my house.
There's still one MCU film you guys haven't done: The Incredible Hulk.
do the lego batman movie
I didn't know I was supposed to hate the Ewoks until I came on the internet.
Same
They wouldn't be so bad if the movie didn't overuse them.
I think Indiana Jones 4 is fine. Not the level of the other three, but it’s fine. **ducks**
Oh you didn't know? You're supposed to hate everything.
+Pop_aristocraT Like John Williams' score?
I always thought return of the Jedi was one of the rare examples of a third movie that *didn't* suck.
gambitvoleur me too
Looking back on it, alot of it is nostalgia. I loved the movies but boy where they cheezy and weird. Lots of strange directing ideas. We let them get away with alot. Most of this criticism is fair, doesnt mean we still cant love our movies growing up.
If you ignore the Ewoks then the Death Star scenes with Luke, Vader and the Emperor are a great way to end things.
And it didn't suck.
I think that itd severely underrated as well. It definitely has issues but its a heartfelt return to focus on Luke as a developing character done phenomenally well, even better than A New Hope in that regard. It is also sort of the linchpin of The Last Jedi so if you don't like ROTJ you probably won't like TLJ.
I'm always comforted by the fact that the horrible band in Jabba's palace (from the special editions) is killed when the barge explodes. Sweet relief.
That band was in the palace.
max rebo survives tho
They probably lost their job after that
But Bib Fortuna survived... somehow.
Good point. That makes me feel better.
The part with Vader, Luke and Palpatine is amazing.
Yes, that was deeply moving. Honestly it's what carries the movie.
Now witness the firepower of this fully armed and operational *construction noises*
I still cried when Vader removed his helmet to see Luke.
I still cry with joy when I see karma of Annakin's post traitor face. Fry you turd, FRY!
On the dark side, the Empire would survive con-vid 19....
Me too. So emotional 🥺
Yes
*anakin
People forget that those "cute" Ewoks were going to cook and eat Han, Luke, and Chewy. But they kept Leia alive.............to do God knows what to!
Just think about the Storm Trooper helmets turned into a xylophone. Where are the troopers?
Oh no people don't forget about that at all because Lucas Film reminded us of that with one of their Forces of Destiny shorts. Leia actually stopped the Ewoks from eating some Stormtroopers.
ua-cam.com/video/Cs_vQgnVnIM/v-deo.html
And they had a dress that fit her. Where did they get that dress from, huh? Seriously did Leia loot that dress off a dessicated, half-eaten corpse? Asking for a friend.
This is guillermo del toro level of dark XD
Carl Rood Still inside. Somehow they will have to manage the different Sounds these things made.
I actually really loved this movie
It’s my favorite

I've been watching reactions from people who had never seen Star Wars, and mostly, they love it!
I like it but my favourite is Revenge of the sith
That harmonica was so bad it was beautiful. Thank you, Screen Junkies.
Good to know I wasn't the only one who thought it looked like a harmonica.
Same here 😊
What harmonica?
@@Rival_Games in Vader's mask.
@@Lulu-ex7fc oooooo I see it now lol😂
You didn't mention "It's a trap", not even once! FOR SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!
Yes like the haters letting the hate flow through them to hate on the Ewoks and then the Gungans from Episode 1. ;)
Hey Screen Junkies....SPAMMING IS WRONG!
Hey Screen Junkies....SPAMMING IS WRONG!
David315842 I hate bots
It's a trick!
Luke vs Vader is still one of the best sequences in the history of movies.
I couldn't agree more, but I am thinking of two: The one in Empire as well as in Return. I'm not sure why they can't make scenes like that any more. The emphasis, nowadays, is always on the QUICK action, frantic editing, etc. But sometimes it is a joy to take your time and watch something progress.
And also the greatest redemption arc in cinema history
"Luke - who's grown from a naive farmboy to goth Catholic priest."

I see through the lies of the Jedi
This line was foolish . . . So we destroyed
it !!!
NEVER !!!
Well... did he say it?
When mentioning wars where an army was superior not just numerically but also resource wise, you should've mentioned the incredible battle between Australians vs Emus. It was a long and bloody war, but the emus reigned supreme.
Nah, mate. You seen the Matrix? Emu's 've got those long legs and necks. Emu's will reign supreme . . . at least until the Drop Bears run out of tourists.
the Emu war is my favorite random historical fact and it totally fits here, thanks for remembering it
I live in Australia called Emu Plains
Australians really hated Emos huh....man MCR should not tour there
Emu war is epic, but I'm also fond of the Battle of Palmdale.
No mention of admiral Ackbar? Forshame.
ultrapersonthing yeah! For punishment you need to say "It's a trap!"
And they said nothing about the Emperor eithe
Return of the Jedi is my favourite movie and it’s shows that even though Darth Vader was evil he can be redeemed and how Luke becomes a legendary Jedi
Yes
Return of the Jedi holds a special place in my heart because it was the first film I ever saw with a massive space battle.
Say “Mesa the lord of the Sith”
That should probably Meesa if you want it pronounced right.
+
Robert Sagers , meesa darth jar jar and yousa in big doodoo dis time
lol hishe
no way this actually works
ROTJ is great. Has one of the best space battles, plus William's score when Vader turns on the Emperor (the original version, not the no-screaming Blu-Ray version) still gives me the chills after 30 years.
"That's it, I'm a trekkie now"
"What does god need with a starship?"
ZZZAAAPP!!!
"Ugh! Nevermind!"
LOL! Funny thing....everyone hated Star Trek V...but i liked it. Kirk never directed another movie after it.
@@pex_the_unalivedrunk6785 Yes, my favorite part from Star Trek V is Kirk's speech as to why he didn't want Sybok to show his pain.
Honestly "What does God need with a Starship?" is the second best thing in that movie. Only behind, "I need my Pain."
I love how you acknowledge both sides of the Ewok argument and even bring real wars into the discussion.
I never knew that this movie was considered "Meh". I'm really surprised because it's my second favorite Star Wars movie
Simon Pema Mine too. I love ROTJ
I think Screen Junkies are often overly critical just to make the trailers funnier.
It's just part of the bandwagon to hate on the prequels.
Simon Pema Mine too. Empire is my favorite becuade everything is damn awesome in it. But my favorite Star Wars scenes of all time are the scenes with Luke, Vader and the Emperor in the Throne Room. "I'm a Jedi like my father before me!"
I agree! Especially when compared to the first 3 movies as well as the two new Disney ones!
Thumbs up for the *Harmonica Solo*
John Williams didn't write Yub Nub. It was his son, whose also a member of the band Toto.
I was just drinking when you said "harmonica solo". I almost killed my computer!
Ok, Return of the Jedi definitely isn't ANYWHERE close to as bad as Terminator 3 and Spider-Man 3 are. Honestly, I don't even consider ROTJ a bad movie at all. In fact, I thoroughly enjoy it, including the ewoks!
True that!
IKR? It is actually my favorite Star Wars movie.
ragingfiip it got really bad reputation because it came after 2 great SW films
it isn't the best of the three ogs buts it was still gud
Hey, i liked Spiderman 3. The Venom guy played the role quite well (not as good as Dschafar but close). Sandman was good too.
And it was much better than the alligator/electro movie.
I haven`t watched Homecoming yet but i bet there is *yet another* origin story of Spiderman (they make me sick/ begone Uncle INEVERYF*INGSPIDERMANMOVIE).
"Word of advice to Daisy Ridley, if you see George Lucas talking to the costume department, run." lmao!
No kiddin. Look what happened to Snope.
Robert Cortez I bet she'd look pretty damn great in that outfit lol
Carrie Fisher apparently told Daisy Ridley that too.
...no, really.
Mmmmmmmmhhh Daisy
I find your lack of Admiral Ackbar jokes disturbing
I love Return of the Jedi
How dare you!!!! It is worse than the sequels!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must hate ROTJ, it being bad is a fact, not an opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@LumiNyte are you joking?
@@ryanangelastro504 yes
Me too.👍
@@LumiNyte Funny, I read "It's a fact, not an opinion" elsewhere today about a Star Wars movie.
The added "No"s when Vader turns against the Emperor who tortured Luke ruined the whole scene. They should've left him silent while he ends his conflict and does finally the right thing for once in his life.
I don't mind the idea of him saying "no", I just wish it was more angry.
I think i have a version where vader is silent as he does this. I didnt even know he said "no" at all.
I can kind of forgive the CGI, but taking out the "yub nub" song was irredeemable
KingKrusty That would be the original version, before George Lucas "improved" things.
Last year, I bought a VHS with RotJ for 4-5 dollars, that has 23 years. Raw 1983 version. Sadly, it's 4:3, but I can live with that.
Return of the Jedi is the weakest of the original three, but it absolutely has some of the best moments
Marcus Blixenkrone-Møller I agree.
This is a good summation. It also provided a FANTASTIC ending to the Skywalker story (until Disney screwed it up.)
From naive farm boy to goth catholic priest 😂
The real war section was gold.
The harmonica solo killed me.
Michael Lester killed Vader too
Pretty sad they didn’t list a single positive when Return has some of the best moments in the entire franchise
True, but at least they sort of defended the Ewok's victory over the Empire.
Agreed, especially the Vader-Luke act.
The final duel between Luke and Vader with the fantastic soundtrack might be the greatest moment in Star Wars history
The whole Luke-Vader-Emperor sequence IS the best thing in the entire franchise. Also the opening sequence in Jabba's palace is great too. Good way to showcase how cool Goth Catholic Priest Luke now is :) Lots of beautifully shot atmospheric scenes in many places.
“Amazing, Every word of what you just said was wrong”
Return of the jedi was and still is my favorite star wars movie and you can not change my mind
Otherwise you'll tread on me
Wait, you do RotJ and don't even mention Ackbar? That is almost criminal.
Don't click the link.....it's a trap!!
Rip Admiral Ackbar
It's even worse that they didn't mention the Emperor ONCE
The Ewoks eat People! WHY ARE THEY KID FRIENDLY?
“What do you think this is, Vietnam?”
Me- yes that’s it, you’ve uncovered the inspiration of Star Wars in a joke
"there's no way the mighty empire would struggle against a smaller, poorly armed force"
Have these people ever heard of something called "the rebellion"?
Plase say this : DO IT

You mean "dew it"?
R.I.P that one Gonk Droid.
Why?! Why was I programmed to feel pain?!?!!?
owlstag awn No way, we'll be getting a gritty spin-off movie about the revenge spree of that gin droid.
Gonk paid good money to be tipped upsidedown and have his feet scorched. He is a decidedly kinky droid at heart.
What is this Gonk droid meme i keep seeing? I don't know why people are obsessed with them
The metal isn't even touching his feet
Honest Trailers Jumanji (1995)
Perfect? More like perfectly nightmare inducing. Fuck that quicksand floor.
Ewoks: We are cute
Grogu: hold my soup cup.
Carrie did look amazing in that bikini, though
Sadly she died
Reportedly SHE chose that to show that hot women could still be powerful and worthy of respect.
Reportedly *someone* had a lifesize model made of her in that costume... correct in all details... which Fisher understandably wasn't happy about since metal doesn't cling to the body like fabric.
Take a cold shower, Mr L!
The funny thing is Carrie Fisher actually warned Daisy Ridley not to let Disney put her in a bikini
But the really ironic thing is that Fisher actually asked for a costume along those lines.
Better than having a hammerhead cat conveniently rip off only the bottom half of her shirt and leave no lasting injuries [coughattackoftheclonescough]
Women seem to not like competition from other women( Let alone a younger woman copying & stealing their shine). Men competing for them is an entirely different story though.
And then Luke goes from Goth Catholic Priest in Return of the Jedi to Island Catholic Priest in Force Awakens. Also harmonica solo was awesome!
Please do an Atomic Blonde honest trailer!
Can we just respect that this movie started the whole three facet battle that has become the staple of all Star Wars and did it exceptionally well? That in and of itself was admirable aaa a stand-alone accomplishment.
i hated all the changes except switching yub nub for victory celebration, i thought that was reasonable improvement
In the Blu-Ray version Yub Nub is removed...yet Hayden is still there...still there
YOU BASTARD!
Return of the Jedi is NOWHERE near the level of Spider-Man 3 & Terminator 3. You’re drunk.
Return > Terminator > Spiderman
Dead Bricks Spiderman 3 was terrible!
notsoslimshady14 agree
Indeed, replace T3 with "Shrek the Third"... or "Lethal Weapon 3"... or "Superman III"... or "Batman Forever"...
+ComeOnIsSuchAJoy
I agree with all of that, except for Shrek the Third. I love that movie.
You forget to mention how cool it was when Luke whipped out the green light saber and went HAM. Oh and how epic it was the most menacing villain in cinema history was the one to save the day!
I would like this but that would unexecute Order 66
It was epic indeed! My favorite part when I was a kid.
I like the new ending song a lot more. I also like the young Anakin Force ghost. Maybe the prequels didn't do the character justice, but the Clone Wars series made me love the character and it was nice to see him appear like he was in his prime. It emphasized the redemption theme for me.
The advice part had me laughing so hard that I fell back
Say what you will about this movie, the assault on the death star scenes are amazing. I'll never forget watching it as a kid for the first time, truly thinking the rebels were going to lose.... "Tie Fighters coming in..." still gives me goosebumps...
Jarrod Higgins yeah before we realized that the main characters in any story have plot armor.
Say: "If I had a nickel for every time someone made me read a comment, I wouldn't need to work as an awesome trailer voice."
Harmonica Solo!!! (I'm crying! xD)
Numbering issues!
Run, Daisy, Run!! :D
ROTJ is my favourite Star Wars movie. Okay i'm going to my fallout shelter
Trust me. You're not alone.
It’s the best one! I love it 😻
The middle of the movie is basically filler
ROTS is mine youre fine
Me too!
I love how accurate these trailers are
well..... they're called Honest for a reason
average human I hate the 30 sec9nd ads the play that are unstoppable
average human ypu mispelled honest
Me too.
Except not accurate or honest in this case since half the stuff they complain about are the shit Lucas added 20 years later to his special shit editions.
This might be the introduction to Star Wars nostalgia talking, but Return of the Jedi is my favorite. It hosts my favorite lightsaber battle, The characters making their way into Jabba's palace still captivates me, and the Death/Cremation of Anikin has stuck with me through the years
It definitely isn’t my favourite. But I love those parts too. It was a great movie.
Empire is still the best, followed by A New Hope, then Jedi
Please say: "I absolutely loved it when Pikachu started talking in that one movie"
Juan Diaz I always liked Pikachu .
This is actually my favorite Star Wars movie and it always has been
While this is the least good out of the Original Trilogy, I gotta confess: The space battle is still the best in all eight movies (counting Rogue One).
No mention of Admiral Ackbar? Boba Fett ain’t got nothin’ on trap man.
That guy who told u to say something random at 4:54 got rekt 🤣🤣🤣
You mean something ramdom?
Nick Sojka yah. Did he try to say something random or to actually say what he typed?
@@crazykraken4139 The "n" key is right next to the "m" key, in addition to the letters being of similar shape. So it's understandable.
Nick Sojka so that means he tried to type, “say something random.” But he got rekt cuz at the end his message was just read out instead of something random being said. 🤣🤣
Wow! I have to admit, this was one GREAT Honest Trailer! This time you really nailed the humor! Applause!
Seriously, I'll never understand why people hate the last one. It's ending is emotional, it's got iconic moments, better than other third sequels in film. I know it doesn't live up to the unconquerably high expectation set by A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, but it's still f*cking awesome
Let me help you understand. Basically Luke started out as a good kid with dreams but without the self confidence to make them a reality. What obi wan did in a new hope is help him believe in himself (and this is what “the Force” represents symbolically) to destroy the death star and save the rebellion.
Then in Empire, it’s shown that he still has doubts, he’s still impatient; he still has flaws. Yoda tries to teach him to believe “in the Force” (ie to slow down, have patience, believe in himself, even allow his friends to die to save what they fight for) but Luke won’t have it. He recklessly goes off to face Vader long before he has even started to become ready, and this is his greatest failure. He is defeated and in learning Vader is his father his defeat is made greater: his choices have put him on the easy path to the dark side and he will become like his father.
What Jedi should have been about was Luke’s redemption from this failure, but instead we are simply told that Luke is now a great Jedi from the start and the whole rest of the movie loses focus because it flat out ignores what the previous two films were building towards.
Han’s story was Luke’s opposite: he was confident but didn’t care about doing the right thing, and in the first two films he slowly learns (from Luke) to do the right thing. This culminates with him sacrificing himself to save Leia (and the rebellion with her).
With Luke’s arc absent from Jedi Han isn’t left with much to do characterwise and just stalls in the same spot of “I’m a good guy now”, a boring mush of a character which probably led to Harrison Ford’s boring mush of a performance.
Tldr: Hope and Empire were building to Luke’s redemption, Jedi didn’t respect the core themes of its predecessors and is therefore a very bad film.
I don't know i kinda like revenge of the sith the music was brilliant and it has some genuinely heart wrenching scenes like the scene where Anakin burns and the order 66 scene as well the lightsaber combat for the most part was cool
There's one thing I'll give to the Red Letter Media critic: the light saber duels were loaded with an emotional charge while those of the prequels are super choreographed but boring...
Free Bird
Star Wars fans can’t seem the comprehend the difference between “Worse” and “Terrible”. It’s the same thing with the prequels.
The Ewok story was originally supposed to be about Wookiees. It was going to be about Chewie returning to kashyyk with Han and Leia not only to destroy the deathstar shield but to free his enslaved people. That would have been epic but Lucas decided he would rather sell more toys.
Star Wars fan logic:
"Return of the Jedi is weak because it has Ewoks in it, but the special edition is even weaker because it replaced the Ewok end song with something more fitting."
Erm... What?
I liked the Ewoks. They were vicious little monsters that eat people.
The new music at the end was arguably the most genuine improvement made to the original theatrical cuts.
TheValeyard92 The Ewoks are lame why shouldn't there song be too?
Just stop trying to understand the overly critical Star Wars fans. They have high expectations and their lives must be miserable.
I'm not miserable because i am not critical. Unlike these "fans" who can't stand watching material for both kids and adults, i enjoy the Ewoks.
>out of possibly 12
Definitely 12.
We Disney now boys, remember that.
I think you meant 30.

I just love the idea that people back in the day didn't know that they were related. Like, there were probably fans who shipped them. Imagine how they felt after this movie. 😂😂
I always thought I was the only one who was passionate about Yub Nub! Thank you for immortalizing it.
Let's be fair, the space Battle of Endor was AWESOME, and the model work STILL holds up today.
Also, the Luke vs. Vader duel is the best lightsaber fight in the entire franchise. PERIOD.
Battle of Endor, sure.
Best lightsaber duel? Dude, come on. The only thing SW purists concede about the prequel trilogy is how awesome the duels were. Obi-wan, Qui-gon and Darth Maul on Phantom Menace. THAT's a period :D
I know it's a really unorthodox fight, but I actually really enjoyed the protracted, awkward fight between Obi-Wan and Grievous. (Greivous? Grevious?)
I concede nothing. NOTHING.
DamnDamien Damn, Daimen...
Looks like somebody haven't seen the Anakin vs. Oba-wan duel in Revenge of the Sith.
«My midi-chlorical romance» Hysterical!😅
Hanz Gruuber Can you explain it to me?
Amparo Narbona a reference to the band My chemical romance
Hanz Gruuber Ok, but, what does this have to do with 'Star Wars'?
I totally sing the “Yub-Nub” song every time I watch the new addition.
Always thought something's really off with Darth Vader's harmonica, and now i finally get it lol
Say "Oh hi Mark"
This is still my second favorite Star Wars movie. If you didn't tear up when that one Ewok got shot and his buddy was shaking him then you need to check your pulse.
Hugh Heavens that might be the saddest death in the movie.
Maaaan... fk that Ewok!! :p
What about the death of the rancor? His owner was heart-broken. Bloody Skywalker!
Keldor D'Antrell the guy in the leather hood gets his redemption in the Aftermath trilogy though.
Lost Empire oh, yeah, and Temmin is in those, i need to go read the third one
"Almost silly enough to make you question why your identity is so tied to a space opera about space wizards."
That cut deep.
I am from India.
I watched the starting 7 movies of the series just this week for the first time.
And well I think that Episode 1-3 were good.
respect for having the unpopular opinion
It's like you guys went out of your way to avoid praising the bits this film gets right. Jabba and the Emperor are amazing characters and Luke vs Vader is definitely the best lightsaber fight in the saga for me.
Don't forget the best space battle in movie history...
The whole movie is still silly though
It was a badass fight, but you gotta admit, they successfully allowed Anikan v Obi Won to compete. After all, it was meant to me a poetic illustration f the creation and death of Sith Vadar that began with his Master and ended with his son.
No it's Anakin vs Obi Wan
DoctorXander I guess they were trying to avoid being called nostalgia-blind and overpraising the movie's merits. To be fair, RoTJ is still a great movie, though it is the most flawed of the original 3.
I actually like this movie a lot. it's one of my favorite Star Wars movies.
Flint Spears versus actual Space Armor is a bit of a more... Extreme difference of opposed forces and technology
It’s A Wonderful Life honest trailer!!!
Don't the Ewoks try to eat the Rebels at one point?
That doesn't seem cute and friendly!
Joseph Wolfson. Consider that and the fact that in the end of the movie they are dancing around bonfires, banging stormtrooper helmets and you start to realize what might have happened to the stormtroopers they beat.
Yes. They were going to cook Han Solo for dinner.
That's a popular theory, but consider that they also befriended humans in Luke, Leia and Han, who wouldn't have approved of them eating their kind.
It's more than a theory that they were going to serve Han for dinner. It's what Threepio told them that their plans were for him.
I know that, I'm referring to LATER. I'm pretty sure Han and Leia wouldn't have approved of them eating people, and would've conveyed that to 3PO who they considered their "God". They likely just burned all the bodies.
"Every thumbnail on youtube with a hot girl"
Admiral Ackbar: "It`s a trap!"
even *B E T T E R*
I honestly feel like the song that replaced Yub Nub fits the rest of the film's, and the earlier film's, mood.
I'm 26 and I never knew the Yub Nub song was in the original version. The only time I heard it was at the end of Lego Star Wars II.
Say: The ewoks are the best warriors in the galaxy
emmm, they are
the force was with them.
(best excuse for any ridiculous plot element)
This isn't how the force work !
Truth. Excluding deaths caused by spaceships, Ewoks killed more Imperials in the last 20 minutes of ROTJ than all the rebels combined could manage in 3 films. With sticks, rope, and rocks. That's why you never saw Vader helping defend the shield generator on Endor. He wasn't about to mess with them.
Not just killed imperials but ate them as well.
"My Midi-Chlorical Romance." OK WHY DID THIS MAKE ME LOVE LUKE EVEN MORE?
The angst is strong with that one.
I'd take 'Victory Celebration' over 'Yub Nub' any day.
They could have had both.
This was my favorite movie as a kid
The saga is now complete...
At least until The Last Jedi comes out on Blu-Ray.
Not exactly, there is that midquel, The Clone Wars that for some reason aired in the cinema, the two Wookie movies, the Holiday Special and The Last Jedi.
Complete garbage
So I guess that rogue one, hansolo movie , boba fett movie and obi wan kenobi movies do not count
Morty! I voted for you! Rick's are overrated
Really no pointing out that the Ewoks were canibals and the food at the feast was probably dead stormtroopers? For shame Honest trailers.
That doesn't make them cannibals though.
Leia in slave outfit is so iconic! I wish Rey would wear something similar,... for rhyming purposes,😅!
"The criminal erasure of the Yub Nub song"? Excuse me, the Victory Celebration is one of the best victory anthems in cinematic history!
Emily E. I literally played that on my phone as I walked out of my last day of high school
My friend played the Yub Nub song at his wedding reception.
Yeah... I don't believe that a person who has a problem with the teddy bear ewoks would actually miss the Yub Nub song. Hell, even the name reeks of everything people hate about the ewoks. He's just jumping on the special edition hate bandwagon.
I was too young to remember the Yub Nub version very well. I saw the original theatrical cut on VHS with my parents when I was barely seven. I really grew up on the pre-prequel special editions. But just from that little snippet, I definitely prefer Victory Celebration. Triumphant, but also somewhat mournful...it really feels like the song for the end of a war. Celebrating victory while reflecting on everything that was lost along the way.
the yub nub song is better. I actually felt vindicated watching this, because I downloaded the originals JUST FOR THAT SCENE - e s e you are no true star wars fan ;)

"Harmonica solo" almost killed me. Lol
I honestly loved this movie. It's a lot of nostalgia and I might hate it, if I watched it for the first time today, but it had some really memorable emotional scenes like the final fight between vader/imperator and luke
