Your have a very atheistic postmodernist perspective. The objective meaning of life in the Christian worldview is to love and reach union with God. The Harry Potter books point to this as well (which makes sense because J. K. Rowling is a Christian). The main theme in the Harry Potter books is love’s ability to conquer death. Specifically sacrificial love’s ability to conquer death. Harry’s ability to come back from the dead was because of his mother’s loving sacrifice which created a kind of “love crux” which tethered him to life. Jesus Christ loving sacrificed himself to overcome the darklord (Satan) so that we could be tethered to eternal life as well. Voldemort tried to live forever by putting his soul into material objects. This reflects our materialistic society which does the same striving after money, fame, honor and pleasure because they think this is the only life they get. I think we should do what Harry did and give up the chase for the deathly hallows (or power) and put our faith in the plan Dumbledore (or God) laid out for us and sacrifice ourselves out of love for our friends. “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren.” 1 John 3:14. I hope you do have that family that you’ve always wanted, but I also hope that you get rid of this idea that you only live once and have faith that through the love of our Heavenly Father we may live forever. ❤
