    I tried it for 30 days about a year ago. It was something my mom, sisters and I decided to do. I can drive on the highway now without freaking out. Before that just riding on the highway would lead to a complete meltdown.

      Evelyn S. this is a question is mysticism, no matter how good at any form of magic/prayer/whatever mumbo-jumbo you're into, you cannot break the laws of nature and therefore you cannot levitate simply using your mind alone.
      If you really want to levitate, you might wish to try sitting on a magnet that's hovering over a second magnet of the opposite polarity. lol

    Meditation is extremely powerful and much bigger than achieving one simple goal. Meditation will unlock the full capacity of your mind if you're really dedicated to it. I can't describe it with words but once you gain practice with meditation it's literally like doing acid and dmt but you have complete control.

      +Lauren Farrar TM is just sitting with the eyes closed, using a mantra.
      Not much to show.

    • @HakaTech
      @HakaTech 8 років тому +47

      +Lauren Farrar You just sit in a quiet place where you can sit comfortably and NOT lie down. You just close your eyes and try to "not think on anything" while you repeat your mantra(you can find a mantra online or make your own). Do this for 15-20 minutes 2 times a day(morning and evening).
      That's it

    • @LawsonEnglish
      @LawsonEnglish 8 років тому +23

      @HakaTech and you've just proved that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was correct about his concerns that the retelling of "how to" meditate invariably leads to distortion that becomes worse with each generation of retelling.
      My advice:
      if you went through the official TM course, taught by an official TM teacher, go back to your local TM center (there are at least 500 of them worldwide, including 160 in the USA) and get your TM checked -it's free (that's what you paid your money for).
      if you did NOT go through the official TM course [yadda yadda], go to your local TM center and learn TM.
      What you just said isn't TM, even if you are confident that you remember what you were taught. It just isn't. Go get checked (it's free).

    • @HakaTech
      @HakaTech 8 років тому +58

      Lawson English The whole TM learning foundation is just a big hoax for earning money. Save your 2000 USD for a 8-10 hours course where you can learn most of the same on youtube. Personally I do the same as shown free on UA-cam and for me it works great

    • @ZeranZeran

      Can you please tell me the exact video you use? I've been trying really hard to find some kind of guided TM tape or video but they're all.. well.. really bad, and useless, like it would be better to just go sit in my patio.
      Please share, what did you use to learn TM for yourself and for free? I can't afford a $2500 class.

    I'm all for meditation. I don't meditate daily but a few days a week and it really does keep me centered and keeps my stress levels down. For those of you who don't meditate, it's hard to explain but I can say one thing, clarity. Ever since I started meditating a few years ago I have much more clarity in my life. Even when things aren't clear for me I've noticed that I don't stress about it nearly as much as I used to. Peace. :)

    My aunt and cousins regularly practice Transcendental Meditation. My aunt met the Maraharishi, in fact, and she teaches meditation to people. I've always been curious to try it myself, but it also scares me. But this seemed like a very effortless practice. One inaccurate statement is that TM was first taught by Maharishi in 1955. It was first taught in the WEST in 1955 by Maharishi (he got a lot of flack from many of his peers for doing that), but the technique has been around for approximately 5,000-10,000 years. I've heard that Chapter 2 V. 45 (or 46, I can't remember) of the Bhagavad-Gita is describing the TM technique (I've read it, and it's a little questionable from my understanding of the verse, but interesting nonetheless). So it's actually been a technique that humans have been doing for centuries

    I did transcendental meditation for about two years a long time ago. I found that it didn't live up to some of the claims of its promoters, but it was pretty effective relaxation therapy. My grade point at school was way higher than it was after I quit. (Drinking played a big role in that.) During that time I cut way down on caffeine, went to AA regularly, and got about the right amount of exercise. I still had big problems with anxiety, but my school work was hugely better. I've given some thought to taking it up again. I don't know how it would affect me now that I'm on anti-psychotic medication.

    We used to have yoga regularly in my middle school, Whenever we were asked to do the shavasana(corpse pose), atleast 3-4 kids used to fall into sleep. It was fun waking them up.

    I do TM. (Transcendental Meditation) During the first part, I feel a quiet peaceful darkness, but then during second part I usually end up falling asleep.

    Meditation is the art of focused concentration and it's incredibly difficult but incredibly easy at the same time.

    I would recommend trying vippasna meditation, it has better and quicker results it's simple and unlike TM it is free.

    this is not acid or tripping. this is spirituality. you will never feel more fulfilled than while living a deeply personal spiritual life. despite outside happenings, if you can find peace inside then there will ALWAYS be peace in your life. its simple but we just like to overcomplicate things

    People bike everywhere (within a possible reach) for a month (and see if the biking to work in the morning and the little extra movement changes anything)

    I wish more people did Meditation/Yoga. I used to like the rush from confrontation (still do abit) but after I started I realised what's the point? Why are you wasting both of your precious time fighting? There is better ways to solve things, there are more important issues. Seeing someone get angry over silly things also makes me annoyed now, like calm down. If they did they'd realise there was no need to worry and there are better ways to find the solution other then abuse etc. It changed my view (Tbh I only do youtube meditation/Yoga but I now understand how good it can be when you don't let your emotions get the better of you)

    Did anyone notice they were a lot tanner at the end of the video. It's probably just because it's summer and has nothing to do with the meditation, but its just a funny thing I noticed. They all look a lot brighter and healthier now so that's cool.
