TM is the most profoundly beneficial thing I’ve ever done for myself. I took a course after watching David Lynch explain it, as an absolute last resort for help. When no amount of therapy worked, TM pulled me out of a frighteningly deep depression I went into after losing my left eye. I can confidently say it saved my life. Not only did it drastically shift my way of thinking and being, it helped me physically, too: lower BP, 48lb of weight loss my doctor attributes to cortisone levels being leveled out by the practice, and fewer migraines. I am eternally grateful to have learned this practice, more so than I could ever adequately articulate.
If everyone had daily meditations the decrease in violence and hate would decrease exorbitantly within a few months to a year. It tunes you to life and frequency beyond our normal perception and way of understanding. It tosses the limited thinking of religion and linearity out the window and replaces it with the spirit and soul, something more pure and in tune with what you really are at heart. It truly is transcending.
I was on the edge of a total nervous breakdown - my life felt completely over and then an algorithm with David Lynch advising TM popped up on my phone & I did it and though I still can worry about stuff, it doesn't last or get worse, if anything it actually fades away. TM is the best stress buster I've ever tried.
What a great gift for these people . 60 days, impressive! I've been doing TM for over 40 years. I can't imagine not having this in my life, for the relief of stress, the boost to creativity, the general happiness.
I'm a TM disciple who hasn't meditated TM for over a year. I don't know why I stopped, it helped me so much with my anxiety & depression... Guess I was yet to realise my self-suffering patterns. And now I KNOW, I am starting today. Om shanti!

It's been great for me. I meditate twice a day (20 minutes each session). I feel great, I allow myself to be more creative, and I get less upset. I'd recommend it.
It has just helped me over come mental things I felt i had no control over. I have just gotten overall happier and more in control of my life. I'm way more care free, I have come out of my shell more, and I am more confident in everything that I do.
@@ThePiachu90 if you have all of these things that this person is said, there's also manifestation meditations. They teach you that you can manifest anything that you want in life, and through meditation you can learn how little you actually know and how little you actually need.
at 5:16, her comment about filling time with trash content (social media, internet in general, screen time) made so much sense to me...makes me wanna try meditation but my mind is always racing i feel like it would be impossible.
Just started it. It's real. It works. Blows my mind. It's nearly like doing drugs or drinking, that little inbetween feeling before you dip down, like a limbo of some sort. It's excellent. Oh, and visuals do happen. They are mental, obviously, but it puts you in a state that is almost dream like.
I have practiced for over 30 years. It changed my life and I am so glad it came into my life. I can do it anywhere. I just want people to learn from certified TM teachers and not through the self help videos on youtube and on the internet. If you learn properly it will truly be well worth the investment. It will be paid off so quickly because the changes to your life will be priceless in so many ways. I tell so many people to learn because it would help them. Some do and they are so grateful. One person talks about trying to slow down your breathing; once your learn it takes no effort to slow down your breathing no matter what state your in. Also, be careful meditating with animals. They love it but they also take a lot of the benefit from the meditation and away from you. I was told by my TM teacher to not let them near me while I was doing my TM practice. They would almost knock the door down to get to me while I was meditating - they knew I was doing it. This has been the same for all of my pets over the years, especially cats.
My aunt and cousins regularly practice Transcendental Meditation. My aunt met the Maraharishi, in fact, and she teaches meditation to people. I've always been curious to try it myself, but it also scares me. But this seemed like a very effortless practice. I think after watching this, I am going to call her up and the next time she visits the state, I will have her teach me!
I'm all for meditation. I don't meditate daily but a few days a week and it really does keep me centered and keeps my stress levels down. For those of you who don't meditate, it's hard to explain but I can say one thing, clarity. Ever since I started meditating a few years ago I have much more clarity in my life. Even when things aren't clear for me I've noticed that I don't stress about it nearly as much as I used to. Peace. :)

Meditation is extremely powerful and much bigger than achieving one simple goal. Meditation will unlock the full capacity of your mind if you're really dedicated to it. I can't describe it with words but once you gain practice with meditation it's literally like doing acid and dmt but you have complete control.
For those of you who wanna start meditating; start with ten minutes every day. I've been doing it since i took martial arts in my childhood. It really is a good thing to do if you have an anxious personality :D

It works. I learned TM forty years ago just as I was leaving university. My greatest wish is that everybody, especially my family, would learn the technique. There are over six hundred medical studies the beneficial effects that TM has on mind and body.
It's basically like half falling asleep. Like right before you fall to sleep and have weird images and thoughts that don't make sense. You're just in that state between dream and consciousness for like 15 minutes. When you come out of it you feel super sober
I am the worlds youngest yoga teacher, I became a yoga teacher at 11. I do this all the time to activate my shakras, and so I can be truly happy. I turn 12 in 2 days, but I am more happy than I ever would be before. Become certified. It will change your life.
I know out all all the techniques and medications I've tried, meditation has been the most successful way of getting my anxiety and ocd under control. This video was awesome to see.
TM works for some people. I have had success with zazen meditation which is really different- you don't try to change your mind or enter a special state, you simply sit and watch your thoughts and emotions come and go, and practical being mindful.
Thank god the world is waking up to meditation and helping relieve people from stress which is causing all this violence in the world! I am proud that this gift of meditation originated from India and I am thankful for the teachers including Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Sri Sri Ravishankar who have taken this method of self-calming international! Go meditate! Be happy!
One inaccurate statement is that TM was first taught by Maharishi in 1955. It was first taught in the WEST in 1955 by Maharishi (he got a lot of flack from many of his peers for doing that), but the technique has been around for approximately 5,000-10,000 years. I've heard that Chapter 2 V. 45 (or 46, I can't remember) of the Bhagavad-Gita is describing the TM technique (I've read it, and it's a little questionable from my understanding of the verse, but interesting nonetheless). So it's actually been a technique that humans have been doing for centuries
It should be acknowledged at Transcendental Meditation isn't a typical Meditation. It's not a focus on the body, it's not like what you do in headspace. It requires training and mental techniques and visuals that are taught to you. It can't be explained simply to work correctly. I've used the Headspace app for months and it's helped me be calm and refreshed, but now I've done TM for over a week now (supposed to do 2 times a day for 20 minutes each) and in still not great at it but I've had two notable responses. One was a drug-like effect where I felt a spark of energy and love and happiness overflowing out of me and radiating into me. The feeling was so powerful and incredible. I thought TM was a scam right before I did it that time. Ever since then I've put my trust in it. Mindfulness meditation doesn't do that. Last night I did it and, like LSD or mushrooms, I saw colors more vibrant and contrasted. I know because I watched a music video I watch all the time and I noticed how different it looked. A textured blanket on my feet was such a nice and enjoyable sensation I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't meditated. The music sounded better and more enjoyable. TM unlike regular typical meditations makes you calm, but not tired. It boosts energy and motivation and happiness and enjoyment of everything. If you have the technique down. And using Headspace, I've never felt like I was on drugs. I highly recommend it, but a warning is it takes time to learn it for some people and you can't just learn it by reading a How To thing on a website. You need lectures to teach your mind techniques.
Thank you for this. I think a lot of people aren’t getting, and not by their own faults, the video is too short, that TM is not the same as all that other stuff. No meditation practice is bad, but TM is excellent, most particularly for those who find it hard to concentrate or calm down during meditation. TM saved my life. It’s almost impossible to articulate adequately, but then, Maharishi said “you don’t know unless you know.” That’s really sums it all up.
I'm so glad they all had such a positive experience with meditation. Thanks Buzzfeed for showing what good effects meditation can have on people's lives!
+Lauren Farrar You just sit in a quiet place where you can sit comfortably and NOT lie down. You just close your eyes and try to "not think on anything" while you repeat your mantra(you can find a mantra online or make your own). Do this for 15-20 minutes 2 times a day(morning and evening). That's it
@HakaTech and you've just proved that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was correct about his concerns that the retelling of "how to" meditate invariably leads to distortion that becomes worse with each generation of retelling. My advice: if you went through the official TM course, taught by an official TM teacher, go back to your local TM center (there are at least 500 of them worldwide, including 160 in the USA) and get your TM checked -it's free (that's what you paid your money for). if you did NOT go through the official TM course [yadda yadda], go to your local TM center and learn TM. What you just said isn't TM, even if you are confident that you remember what you were taught. It just isn't. Go get checked (it's free).
Lawson English The whole TM learning foundation is just a big hoax for earning money. Save your 2000 USD for a 8-10 hours course where you can learn most of the same on youtube. Personally I do the same as shown free on UA-cam and for me it works great
Can you please tell me the exact video you use? I've been trying really hard to find some kind of guided TM tape or video but they're all.. well.. really bad, and useless, like it would be better to just go sit in my patio. Please share, what did you use to learn TM for yourself and for free? I can't afford a $2500 class.

I MISREAD THE TIDLE AND THOUGHT IT SAID TRANSGENDER MEDICATION FOR 60 DAYS I WTF (I'm not hating against transgender people taking opposite sex hormones I just though buzzfeed told random people "hey take this for 60 days" lol)
I'm all for meditation in the sense of calming your mind and relaxation. Nothing supernatural about it though. Glad people feel better after doing it. More power to them.
I used to have anxiety about weight and fears. I then decided to sit in bed and imagine a white heart in the room and it started pumping like a heart and radiated pure white light and had also rainbow type light waves as well like when you look at the bottom of a CD. It pumps out more light as it grows big, then pumps smaller and then pumps big again and lets out more light again forever in this cycle. I instantly feel comforted and protected and now i leave it in my mind in the house to do its work to keep the house cleansed, in my mind I know its there radiating pure light like sunshine and cleansing the environment. I have no fear anymore cause I know its there. I also say this saying to cleanse myself and relax and let go of any internal worries: I CHOOSE TO LET GO OF ALL FEAR, ANGER, HATE AND STRESS. I repeat this calmly till I feel it's worked completely and set in to my consciousness And fully integrated.
saeefa I instantly recognized who he was talking about when he said asian dude. I didn't know his name was mark, and I probably won't care enough to remember it for future videos.
hollowghost2 The girl Allison was also in the video and people have been mentioning her in the comment section by saying her name, not by calling her 'White girl'
Meditation has so far, brought me happiness and calmness of self. It is definitely worth trying. My emotions flowed like a river current but after that, I just felt so relieved like every bad emotion that I have been holding in just flew out. My eyes hurt from the tears but definitely worth it hahaha. I feel way lighter.
I was taught this same method of transcendental meditation in college. I haven't done it in a long time and this got me thinking I should get back into it :)
I noticed that they actually started looking healthier!! at the beginning they all kinda looked dead and at the end they had more color and there hair was fuller and stuff...
I did transcendental meditation for about two years a long time ago. I found that it didn't live up to some of the claims of its promoters, but it was pretty effective relaxation therapy. My grade point at school was way higher than it was after I quit. (Drinking played a big role in that.) During that time I cut way down on caffeine, went to AA regularly, and got about the right amount of exercise. I still had big problems with anxiety, but my school work was hugely better. I've given some thought to taking it up again. I don't know how it would affect me now that I'm on anti-psychotic medication.
Wow this was the most positive n effective life change vdo I have seen so far.. I dint expect everyone to b so affirmative Thot some would say dint really see much or any change or can't continue n all but NO.. All lived it !!! N achieved their goals as well
I have tried and at times I still do it but I've been falling behind lately. I have actually had my dog sit or lay at my side when I sit on my little meditation blanket and I find it really nice. He appears to be a lot calmer afterwards too.
They will have a negative reaction to it. It's really unhealthy to just stop eating meat cheese etc. all at once because your body is so used to relying on them for nutrients. You have to slowly "glide" into that lifestyle
This is fucking beautiful congrats to you guys I hope I'll be able to find enough motivation to meditate in the future thank you for this video keep up the good work BuzzCrew

My advice:
if you went through the official TM course, taught by an official TM teacher, go back to your local TM center (there are at least 500 of them worldwide, including 160 in the USA) and get your TM checked -it's free (that's what you paid your money for).
if you did NOT go through the official TM course [yadda yadda], go to your local TM center and learn TM.
I can't afford a $2500 class.
... that point when it feels like you're breathing through every pore in your skin .. bliss.
Yeah, it's really helpful, they could teach it at high schools, for teachers too
+Joy Hughes if they gave us a day or two a month to meditate I would love school so much. Havent had the time for meditation bc of the overwhelming amount of hw i have ;-;
+Jenny Le yes, I understand, my son is in year 12.Look after yourself, hey, it's full on.Hope you have a mentor, but f at school, caz that helps, good luck!
lol you could also just meditate for 5 minutes at least then
I'm glad more people are recognizing the benefits of meditation.
I MISREAD THE TIDLE AND THOUGHT IT SAID TRANSGENDER MEDICATION FOR 60 DAYS I WTF
(I'm not hating against transgender people taking opposite sex hormones I just though buzzfeed told random people "hey take this for 60 days" lol)
I read the same thing!! Ahaha until it began, and they verbally said it, I realized it was meditation not medication
Jessica Loucks Omg! Same! I was like "Wait what?!"
LOL SAME
Jessica Loucks Wouldn't be surprised if it actually was.
It IS buzzfeed after all HAHAHAHHA
Thankyou India for giving us Yoga and Transcendental meditation
I love this life/change series!!
I'm all for meditation in the sense of calming your mind and relaxation. Nothing supernatural about it though. Glad people feel better after doing it. More power to them.
"We're gonna meditate for about two months everyday"
YES. I practice meditation every single morning and can truly say it has helped me stay more focused and calm throughout my days. Cheers.
How do you meditate for 2 months everyday?
XD I don't know
spicefullness that was exactly me
it can just take only 5 minutes to meditate. I'm sure it wasn't too hard for them to take that short amount of time out of their day to meditate :)
h
You meditate for two months everyday that's how...
That cat sweater is fantastic
I love meditation on its own, but I've wanted to try TM for some time now! I'm happy they seem pleased with the results!
I think the one Asian dude took LSD
Why do you say that?
Zzz carter Actually, some can see such things and I'm one of those some people.
Derrek Beeck He has a name, its Mark, not Asian dude
saeefa I instantly recognized who he was talking about when he said asian dude. I didn't know his name was mark, and I probably won't care enough to remember it for future videos.
hollowghost2 The girl Allison was also in the video and people have been mentioning her in the comment section by saying her name, not by calling her 'White girl'
I randomly watched this video after watching David Lynch talking on Consciousness and Transcendental Meditation.
Do a 30 day squat challenge
Meditation has so far, brought me happiness and calmness of self. It is definitely worth trying. My emotions flowed like a river current but after that, I just felt so relieved like every bad emotion that I have been holding in just flew out. My eyes hurt from the tears but definitely worth it hahaha. I feel way lighter.
I really like the LIFE/change vids that your doing! 👍
The... The DAVID LYNCH foundation. 😲 That is amazing!
Cue in Punjabi music because somehow anything (literally anything) Indian relates to Meditation.
Well this is a technique that originates in India... as well as many other meditation techniques.
Maybe because that’s where meditation was born! I guess mariachi music would be better for you 🙄
@@mattm1982 that doesn't justify culture appropriation
What would have been more fitting for a video about a technique first taught by an Indian man? Country? EDM?
Meditation improves my life in literally every aspect
"So we're going to meditate for about two months every day" I thought he meant he's going to meditate for two months per day
Hahaha, sure, meditation is magical time travel.
I was taught this same method of transcendental meditation in college. I haven't done it in a long time and this got me thinking I should get back into it :)
I noticed that they actually started looking healthier!! at the beginning they all kinda looked dead and at the end they had more color and there hair was fuller and stuff...
School gets me really stressed and depressed so I think I'll give this a shot.
lol i thought it said transcendental medication. i was like wtf is that
Ummm, that's what it says...
Rickey Tie medicinal marijuana
+emmacrum he said medication
LSD
My mom's friend did something like this. She said it was completely hard but so relaxing.
Speaking of meditation has anyone ever done the 10 day course for vipassana meditation ?
Xena T I haven't but a friend did and said it was amazing. I've only heard good things about it :)
what a blessing to attend the lynch institute for a work assignment! life changing certainly.
You can't say "for two months everyday" there aren't two months in a day. You have to say "everyday for two months".
TM adds several months to every day.
That’s cap
Masturbation the highest form of meditation
Incorrect
I meditate with two hands in the dark
hahaha
If I do it, it attracts negative energy that is hard to get rid of ☹️
Shape of 💦
Wow this was the most positive n effective life change vdo I have seen so far.. I dint expect everyone to b so affirmative Thot some would say dint really see much or any change or can't continue n all but NO.. All lived it !!! N achieved their goals as well
You sure they weren't doing acid?
Kristy Jean Meditation at it's most basic form is like doing acid.
That exactly what i thought xD
WeActOnImpulse Official lol nah
I'm pretty sure that it's not like drugs or else they would be 😲😲😲
WeActOnImpulse Official uhh literally not at all
I have tried and at times I still do it but I've been falling behind lately. I have actually had my dog sit or lay at my side when I sit on my little meditation blanket and I find it really nice. He appears to be a lot calmer afterwards too.
Can we have an update on where they are now and if they're still meditating ?!
read autobiography of yogi by paramahansa yogananda 💜

Next: people go vegan for a month
God please no! Then all of the annoying vegans will be like "see? All of you meat eaters are unhealthy bad animal killers" please no.
They will have a negative reaction to it. It's really unhealthy to just stop eating meat cheese etc. all at once because your body is so used to relying on them for nutrients. You have to slowly "glide" into that lifestyle
I like that idea.
Angela Generillo Angela you do realize you literally did just that but for people against veganism like a grade A hypocrite
they will die
Meditate for two months every day...okay...perfect sense was made
This is fucking beautiful congrats to you guys
I hope I'll be able to find enough motivation to meditate in the future
thank you for this video keep up the good work BuzzCrew
i meditate all the time, it really mellows a person out.
