- Demo of the very cool Rivolta Mondata designed by Dennis Fano. The main demo song is a play along to a drum track of Kool thing by Sonic Youth. Followed by six minutes of various riffs showing the guitar with clean, overdrive, distortion and fuzz!! The gear used was an Orange Cr120 head into a Marshall 1922 cab. Pedals were a Boss Ds1 and a little big muff.

Thanks for this, I was on the fence between this model and the baritone version with the full-size humbucker but it's great to hear that these mini-humbuckers can rock out! So if I pull the trigger, it will be the regular scale version!

i come from the "other side" of guitar land ( ibanez rg style w/ double locking trems, pointy head stocks blah blah) and i just have to comment on how much character that guitar has. its a thing of beauty. the "riff buffet" at the end was really refreshing as well, EXCELLENT DEMO

the separate pickguards remind me of an Ibanez Jet King. The raised central part and the pickups are clearly Firebird inspired.

Hey nice demo. I‘m torn between getting a TVL Jazzmaster and this one. I saw another video of yours playing the TVL. How would you say do they compare, in terms of playability, quality and tone?
Silvio Schmidt - I would get the TVL any day of the week. Because of The Rivolta’s construction it just doesn’t feel as solid as a proper Jazzmaster. Both look and sound great in their own way though.

Dude you got the cash TVL it's so fucking classy in a good way thats not to pompous I fucking love it best looking JM in the lineup IMO Troy n fender did a great job love its Mexican made too, not everyones got 3 or 4 grand to burn just 👌
@@derrickharmon7980 Thanks man. I tried one and it sounded and looked wonderful! Sadly, the frets were sprouting out of the fretboard. I guess they stored this for too long. Even applying some lemon oil and humidfication didn't fix it. Had to return it.
You haven't by any chance tried the Baritone VII version of this guitar ? And would you say this is worth the 1k+ price ?
Planet Chucky - Hi no I haven’t tried the baritone. In terms of price, personally I think this should be 7-800 compared to other guitars.

I had an Eastwood Airline Twin-Tone , i've no idea what happened to it , i think i paid...oh £400 for it from my local music shop in York UK , i might give them a ring and see if they can sort me out with another one :)
Drew Shelly - They do some really cool guitars. I’m editing a video for an airline big horn at the moment. The pick ups are so good in those guitars although their looks are an acquired taste!!
i've only been looking at them earlier on today , i love that quirky look , very Shonen Knife , love that band ever since good olde Johnny Peel played em , Devil House was my 1st intro to Shonen Knife :)

warm sounding guitar.wonder how it sounds with lighter gauge strings.
Would this be a good guitar for stoner rock, would it give me a warm, dark tone? How does it compare in tone to say a Gibson SG?
hiltonhotema - yeah it will do stoner rock no problem. Corey Taylor plays one is Stone Sour. Not exactly Stoner but it gives you an idea. It’s a great guitar but the neck is a little thick for my tastes and it has an overall plastic feel but it does look cool 😎

You think the Bridge/Middle and Middle/Neck positions are out of phase like a Strat? Its hard to tell.
I know this is a quite a bit after your question was asked, but I think they are out of phase… there is definitely a strat-like quackiness to the positions with the middle pickup.
It reminds me a Gibson Firebird, but maybe better. Its a pity i cant see it here in my country

Standard" (toggle down: no middle pickup, only bridge and/or neck pickup, selected via upper toggle)
"Combo" (toggle in the middle: middle pickup + bridge and/or neck pickup, selected via upper toggle)
"Override" (toggle up: middle pickup only, upper toggle bypassed)
I didn’t go into that as I wanted to focus on the sounds and this is covered in other videos

only alternatives really are a 5-way Strat style switch (which can't get you all the permutations) , OR a blend knob to roll in the middle pickup (but that is cumbersome for quick changes), OR a 6-way rotary switch
Iggytommy you could always have toggle switches like a jaguar.
