For artists worldwide, I will concur that BATTLES are our muses. If they don't agree, well Brothers of Battles, you are some of my absolute muses to my art!
dehydratedH2O well it's actually the band getting out of tempo, they don't play to a click track, its all triggered live. You can see Ian at 3:12 start signaling to them that they're speeding up past the track by pointing up (as he actually noticed it a few moments before as well). It's actually really amazing to see them coordinate all this and attempt to fix the issues on the fly.
+Igor I (thevinylmind) ah, you may be right, as that is a common sign for more signal in monitors. I just forget that the sound guy is off to the side of the stage for bigger shows. Either way, it was an acknowledgement that there was some sort of issue on stage that they were trying to solve on the fly
+Igor I (thevinylmind) you are right, but i was wondering... if they bring all that stuff with them would not be easier just to have their own monitors coming directly from their gear?
+g33003030 that is a macbook pro. old series. if you mean live music making with 'this' > four tet is a pc user. ı think chemical brothers are pc brothers as well. ım writing this comment from my macbook. heh heh.
i feel like they had a hard time hearing each other on that stage, especially throughout inchworm. It sounded like dave had a hard time landing that initial loop and it started throwing everyone ever so slightly off
Battles really are more of a niche band. I feel like they're more accessible though because they have a bit of a pop appeal as opposed to some other kinds of more selective experimental rock groups.
+Tie Arruda Considering that experimental rock and math rock are pretty synonymous, groups like Dilinger Escape Plan or Don Caballero are more aggressive with there use of odd time signatures. That's what i mean when Battles are more accessible, because their more pop sound gives them a "smoother" sound.
Whoever mixed this deserves a raise. This sounds pretty much like the album version. Best live version of Ice Cream without a doubt.
totally agree, also futura sounds amazing.
@@sp5658 IM A BIT LATE TO THE PARTY BUT I LOVE FUCKING FUTURA

+andafterscience he's actually asking the sound guy to turn his guitar up on his monitor.

+Stefan Panea they get the whole mix on their monitors not only their instruments
3:58 is that a PC with Ableton Live? First time not seeing a MacBook used for this.

Thanks for your comment man, I'm a PC user and somehow I'm baffled that nobody uses them on stage when most people produce with PC... :)
Ready tornado. Ready tornado. Ready tornado. Ready tornado.

+Tie Arruda i forgot to mention Hella. They're probably more experimental than the bands i already mentioned.
+SquackyDuck27 Zack is amazing
