This is such a great tutorial, I love how nice you make the cloth look after cutting and sewing it. Five children, God bless you sweetie, you're saving an awful lot of money making things that cost so much at the department stores. Thanks for the tutorial!

I've seen several burp cloth tutorials and I like you're no-nonsense tutorial best. The only addition I'm going to make is to run two straight stitch rows across (dividing the cloth in thirds) to keep it in place after a wash. Thank you!

Why not make the pattern on paper first? This would allow you to place the pattern on multiple layers and cut several at once.
Super big thank you for pointing out that you need to watch the foot and not the needle. I take it a step further when sewing wider seam allowances by using a different colored sharpies to actually draw the lines right on my machine that I need to follow...the bright colors make it super easy to watch while sewing.
For example- I'll draw a line from the 5/8" mark on the machine plate to the edge of my machine to follow while sewing.
🥰 Another tip for sewing straight if you need to top-stitch across large things, like say you made a 9x9" inch potholder and you want to quilt it. Lay down blue painter's tape then stitch along side it, remove the tape and you have a perfectly straight-stitched line.
I sew almost every day...my next big thing is burp cloths. Thanks so much for the ideas!!!🥰

I used gifted baby rectangles of burp cloths and receiving blankets as practice for programs with edgings with my machine. It has mages, flower, bow, cat and many more in a string of designs on the edges of plainer fabrics instead of a straight stitch edge. In between characters might be one to five scallops. Mine is Janome but many will let you stitch one object from a repeating design. Your gift bundle is awesome!

I'm looking for that as a nice feature. My machine is an old iron workhorse. I love it for heavy duty but now I want a little ease and comfort. Thank you for your skill, knowledge and confidence in everyone.

Rosandra Hernandez I used two different types of flannel. But you can use anything you want! In the past I’ve used terry cloth (like what bath towels are made of) or minky fabric for the back side. Terry cloth or flannel would be more absorbent though! 😊

Thank you for sharing this video with us, you did a good job!........ But, I thought the music in the background was a little bit too distracting for me. Maybe something a little bit more soft and soothing would be nice in the future. Just a suggestion. I had to turn the sound off while you did the demo so that the music wouldn't get stuck in my head for the next 10 days! (Just kidding about the 10 days. But, sometimes I do hear a song in my brain/mind for a few days after I hear it for the first time, and it's nice if the song or music is something more soft and soothing.)
