Pink Tongues evidence much more personality and thinking (personal choice-making) than I ever expected. I've lived with mind for about 6 weeks (motivated largely by this video, lucky to find a quality breeder near me). She's got her own opinion on things, is learning to trust me, approach me, and very quickly learned when and where the food is provided each day. I appreciate a pet who comes willingly (as opposed to my cornering and grabbing) and whose affection is not a given (as with a puppy). The relationship is very cool and continually developing. My 10 year old Northern Blue Tongue obviously knows me well already, and is an amazing companion. This baby Pink Tongue promises to be the same, but in her own very unique way.
Fun fact: Here in Germany they are called "Schneckenskink", literally "snail skink". My local pet store at the town I lived before actually had two of these, and it was the first time I really saw any skink at all. Instantly loved them. Had I known then how rare they were I would have probably got one because where I live know I haven't seen any so far. But blue-tongue skinks are really rare here in Germany as well, in contrast to ball pythons, which it seems like you can get at your local grocery store. lol
this video is definitely going to shoot these skinks straight into the limelight, i can't wait to see them become just as popular as the blue tongues. i appreciate you exposing these more incognito pets in the trade!

Hi Clint, I am from Portugal and I have a pink tongue. In Portugal, snails are considered a delicacy, and are sold in everywhere so this is the perfect pet lizard for me.
Half the time when they zoom in on the lizard, you can see Clint smiling at the critter in the background. Makes me grin too. I don't think I'm going to get a new pet lizard anytime soon (If I have the space in the future... Think I've got my eye on a Tegu), but I do love these videos - It's cool to learn more about the different ones out there.
I just found out that where I live in Florida, we have an invasive frog called the Cuban tree frog; they’re super cute little characters and even though I don’t keep them as “pets” I have many that hang out on my windows and in my plants. Maybe they would make for a fun future video idea 😊💚
I've been watching SO many reptile videos, a lot of which have been from your page, while simultaneously heavily researching what reptile I think would be my best first entry reptile. Arkansas is a rather humid location and so a lot of lizards immediately become harder to maintain with lighting, and housing plus due to a lack of a local reptile community, feeding costs. I wanted something handleable and personable, calm, yet not too tiny where I may be anxious interacting with them, especially around my other animals. Blue tongues were ALMOST perfect, but then I found this video. I immediately found full care guides, necessary information, budgeted, and located some breeders to look into, and have firmly decided this will be the perfect first lizard that hits all the boxes. Thank you so much for these types of videos and for encouraging informed decisions that will ensure proper care and an enjoyable life and bond for the reptile. Keep it going!
