Pes 3 to 6 were all fantastic and certainly the heyday of the series. All of those games were excellent, and the series progresses year to year with improvements. It felt and looked like football. Can't say that for any of the newer games, neither for FIFA. It's kinda like the fun has been sucked out of football games.
@@DaveDoc1984 One could argue that fun was given one red card too many, and the referee blew the whistle for full time prematurely as the games were now too focused on microtransactions and, as you have said, eSports.
I can tell we grew up around the same time. How you spoke on iss pro evolution brought me back to my childhood, same experience man. Countless hours with castollo n miranda. Cant forget the legend babangida.
Thanks man, I was looking exactly for this. I'll always remember the original PES for being the best example I have ever seen of a game that was so far ahead of its contemporaries as to seem almost magical. It was truly astounding. Of course there's the run from PES 3 to PES 6 which is probably as good a run as any game series has ever had.
Nostalgic Vibes for sure... PES 4, 5 and 6 are my favourite PES games of the Franchise, especially from the old but gold Era of PS2... ☯️✌️ #Nostalgia #Childhood #Memories
Just heard "stop for a minute" today and know I got on a nostalgia trip of PES. PES10 was my most played: 10 seasons on ML with SC Heerenveen. Guilherme from Lokotiv was my MVP. Good memories.
Interesting look into that history. I started on ISS Pro Evolution on PS1, absolutely love that game, stuck with that series until 2008, which was absolutely horrible, played it for a few hours and never again. Tried few games after that but the only game since than that I actually loved was (and still is) PES 2018. Last year with Champions League and some incredible changes - especially goalkeepers.
Did you play ISS 1/2/3 for the PS2? I still to this day can’t believe they developed two different football series of games using the same engine from 2 separate in-house teams and released them at the same time.
I had all my football games on the PlayStation 2, all the football games i loved were variations of pes. The first i played and have the most nostalgic memories of, is pes 2. I just remember being young and addicted to the intro, pes 3 i only played after a friend stole money from me so i stole his pes that he loved so much lol, didn't really play it. Played abit of 4 when it came out, but didn't really dive deep into it until pes 6 which was the first one i bought with my own money. I also still have a master league setup on pes 6 where i have literally all the greatest players of the era on my team.
Many thanks for your review bro! WHAT a great review!!! hmmm here's MY TOP 3 in my own opinion from no.3 to top 1 pes 5,6 and 13 -> I love PES 2005 (had the complete effects) -injury treatment, crowd montage, stadium effects, crowd cutscene in random times in scoring, substitute cutscenes for both home and away teams and of course snow gameplay. Pes 6 too like PES 5 but it had less effects...but PES 6 had some features such as being able to turn off player development in season mode and shows an ID picture of the player being traded in ML...PES 6 also has the most patches created by modders and the most stadiums ever created from modders. PES 2013 ("The midpoint game from arcade - simulation") had great gameplay and completes my top 3 [[ in my opinion ]] has features such as copa libertadores, many more leagues for ML, greater graphics, player special skills such as "the sombrero" ...it also has the manager at sideline reacting (cutscenes) to the team's performance on pitch..it is also moddable by having a tool that can let you change any stadium you want from the kitserver mod this lets a modded pes 13 have all stadiums for all teams which makes the game complete in major aspects + like pes 8-12 it has the (UPLOAD FACE FEATURE in game) which basically lets you create yourself or anyone - (your own real face to be uploaded to a player model). SOMEHOW the only thing I still want from the PES series is to have a custom tournament that you can create for the ML like "A world club tournament that will incorporate all the best clubs in the world to compete for a cup (much like KONAMI CUP but for ML) - like the world club tournament BUT with at least 32 teams (top teams in ML) involved". So that when I play in either EUROPE ML or SOUTH AMERICA ML I can easily compete with either hemisphere's teams. PES 13 was almost there but did not have the snow gameplay + crowd cutscenes during gameplay and other small cutscene effects. :)yer ID too
The 6th gen console PES/Winning Eleven games were the peak of the series imo. Recently went back to play PES 2009 with my relatives on the PS2 and it felt surprisingly fun to play.
Theres alot of interesting and down right horrid features they had in pes. They were the first to include in game currency and have a pes shop. Also i think it was pes 2013, when they had a strange feature within master league where players boots had abilities attached to them lol, so like mercurial vapour n f50s had small boosts to speed, predators n crt marstris has better control etc. I played pes religiously until 2021 and it was such a bitter end for me. By that point it was like accepting an abusive ex who wasn’t going to change. Id been holding on because of those iconic nostalgic moments but in truth every release since 2014 just added more n more frustration. Always hoping “yes this year is gonna be the one, they will get back on top n kill fifa” only to be given the same reality
Love me some Pro Evo, been some bad times sure but one thing I love about PES is the passing and the feeling of you can play football! This is the reason I never get as in to Fifa because while the presentation in it is amazing I feel the gameplay isnt responsive or quick enough and that you are more obviously funnel in to playing how it wants you to. I don't get that problem in PES. The issue i get there is crap presentation and interface. Hopefully the new engine on new gen will be the one, but that's the problem, we have been here before twice over and same issues persist.
FIFA isn’t responsive or quick enough? Umm what?!!! That’s literally what that franchise is known for.. FIFA is incredibly fluid compared to PES’ clunky, unresponsive slow gameplay.
Great video. I've gone back to PS2 PES as the modern games are crap in comparison. Love PES 5 and have discovered the PS2 version of PES 2008. Try it. It's excellent.
Entertaining watch, really appreciate the passion and knowledge about the series. But come on man, maybe too much nostalgia for the "old days" driving your opinion, I mean there are people who think 1980s arcade game Commando is more fun than any Call of Duty game, and maybe it is for them, but not for many of the younger generation. Personally I loved Sensible Soccer back in the day and lost interest in gaming for many years due to work and family commitments, when I got to play some modern games like FIFA 2014 (I think) a few years back I was just amazed by the realism, but I could never reproduce the awesome fun I had playing Sensible Soccer. (You have posted quite a few cool videos, only just discovered your channel today)
No I don't agree with your too much nostalgia for the old days comment. I am not someone who will say all older games are better than modern ones, I enjoy a lot of modern games on modern systems. The point of this video highlights what I (and others) believe is the Rise & Fall of PES. Not entirely sure how you can make that comment based on this video?
PES 21 is great game... this is only hope for original PES player to still enjoy legendary game... Konami is officially closed and RIP.... hope sony buy this company

@@DaveDoc1984 pes 2021 full manual is the best pro evo I have ever played pes 15-20 were all good but hai small problems but they were all unique in their own way pes 2017 was worse in the bunch for me because of its inferior pc port after 15-16 and the player collision system played fifa 14 which was good but was excited to jump back in fifa 18 but it was so garbage that after playing one week I went back to pro evo which felt miles better even without those fancy modes like the journey was playing fifa 17 earlier this year but it also felt the same and 19 only had the champions league fifa is always so similar to its last iteration that it never evolves
