Kurt Warner, Zachary Levi, and Wally Talk American Underdog

- Zachary Levi thought his days of taking shots were over when the filming of American Underdog wrapped. Not So. Wally took a shot at Zachary less than a minute into the interview. Then he got Kurt Warner to take a few shots of his own, and for a brief minute Wally actually felt like he was part of a team.
American Underdog is the remarkable true story of NFL quarterback Kurt Warner. In addition to his faith Kurt shares the secret to his success, and surprisingly it was something he learned stalking shelves at a grocery store while he waited on God's perfect timing.

I had no idea this is Kurt Wanners story. Just saw he and his wife on our local news. They were donating a home to a single mom, fully furnished. That speaks volumes to the families character in faith. Just awesome. 🙏
A true to life person GOD BLESS HIM 🙏🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@whokoo agreed .. I'm an atheist and still follow the golden rule. It's not hard and it feels good to show respect and hospitality.
However I dont think whokoo was implying that only people with faith did good deeds.
I was a professional can stacker back when Kurt broke into the NFL. We all knew he had been a can stacker too. It was inspiring to all of us! Made us proud to be can stackers!
True story.
Zachary Levi is one of my favorite actors - great guy
Had the great fortune of working in a movie with Mr Levi...great guy.
Man. Facing your isle is all I needed to know about Kurt. My mom always told me it doesn’t matter what you do in this life. But make sure you are the best at it! I still live by those words. Love you mom
A wonderful family man who gives from the heart
Can’t wait to see this movie!
Kurt Warner was a great QB and also a great person.
so glad they did a movie about him. ive been preaching to everybody about his incredible story.
I grew up and was immersed in football as a young dad with a family when this happened. He always had a great strength in his presence. Unbelievable story and amazing movie. Many messages that will affect each individual differently. Not only a recommendation to watch it…It’s a MUST see for everyone that shows how the power of faith, love, family, and resilience are the combination for happiness and success both personally and professionally. Zachary Levi, Anna Paquin and Dennis Quaid were a perfect match to tell this story along with the rest of the awesome cast.
Inspired! Awesome man of God and his faith is incredible. 🙌🙏💔💝👆💪
As a Titans fan, I remember that game... I was stationed in Japan & we were up at like 4 a.m. to watch it. It was devastating to lose, but if we had to lose, I'm glad it was to a genuinely good guy. I will definitely go see this! Fantastic job on the interview, Wally! I really like Zachary, too. Good ol' Flynn Ryder!
Yes, I remember this game too... as an Oilers fan... the Titans, just like 3 yrs. from leaving Houston, finally got in the Super Bowl. Couldn't believe it... what a close game it was. Really happy for Kurt Warner. I always likes him as a player and person.
We’re you in Iwakuni?
Can’t wait to see this movie!
Tried to see it Christmas night and it was sold out. Went and saw the Matrix Resuretions instead... What a turd of a movie. Been trying to see Spiderman too.. always sold out lately.
Great interview. You let the guys just talk about their experiences. Looking forward to enjoying this movie with my family.
This guy is a reminder that miracles still happen but he earned everything he got he's a symbol of a true American hero who wouldn't pull for this guy he's an all around good guy this is a great ambassador of the NFL then u see what we have now and I wanna puke
They look like brothers.
He's been gone from St. Louis for years.....the Rams are gone too, but Kurt and his wife still give back here. They head up a drive for people to donate coats of all sizes to give out to people who need them. The response is always huge!! People here still love Kurt!! If anyone around here says a bad word about him, there's a problem with them not Kurt!! You can criticize his football playing but you would have a hard time criticizing the guy!!
AMAZING! I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THIS INCREDIBLE STORY OF KURTS LIFE WAS IN THE MAKING AND COMING OUT NEXT MONTH! I REMEMBER HIS EXPLOITS ON THE FIELD WHENEVER THE BEARS PLAYED THE RAMS. AND HE WAS VERY OUTSPOKEN AND UNASHAMED OF HIS FAITH ON AND OFF THE FIELD WHICH TODAY WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED, CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE. [ recently another "Kurt Warner'' running back for the Seahawks was in a movie about father hood]!
Lay off the caps man
If Levi pulls this off it could make him a Oscar contender!!!!
Great interview - look forward to seeing the movie. I remember reading the book when it came out. Kurt is such an inspiring role model.
Amen! Kurt says these powerful words that apply to each of us and has been evident so many times in my own life: "Doesn’t matter where I’m at, doesn’t matter what my circumstances are. There’s a way that I want to do everything. There’s a way that I want to live, and I want to live with excellence." 8:10 ~ and as well in Colossians 3:23 ~
Can’t wait to see this
Football is such a great sport to make movies about. Being from Philly, the making of Vince Papale’s life , Mark Walburg played Vince in Invincible.
Warwick Dunn’s life would make a great movie. His mother, a police officer killed in the line of duty, he raises his siblings, goes on to the nfl, builds houses for homeless people. An amazing life and story.
Thank you for this great interview.
I remember that year like it was yesterday. Out of all teams Kurt goes against was the 99 Baltimore Ravens Defense with a Lethal Ray Lewis. What a way to prove yourself Game 1.
Great interview. Incredible story and movie! Saw it twice and plan to see it again soon.
Great interview
The interviewer was fantastic!!!!! We need him on the Tonight show.
Ha! Thanks for the huge compliment Jon!
Great movie, I have seen it twice so far and each time it chokes me up. What a story!
Just loved this movie!!! Well-done to everyone involved d what an inspirational life story!!!
Kurt is a very kind man and extremely handsome!
Wish he would’ve gotten the Super Bowl win with Arizona too. That was a great season for him as well.
What a great date movie. A love story and a sports story with great appeal.
Kurt Warner should be a inspiration to all store stock boys.
Zack Levi makes a great Kurt Warner.
Unreal character
Saw the movie two days ago.. fantastic movie. I loved it
Glad you enjoyed it!
Detroit Lions Kicker Jason Hansen could tackle and for a kicker had some great stops! Can't wait to see this movie.
I'm kind of courious as to who might play Steve McNair & Eddie George in the Superbowl game that he wins which makes this such a Cinderella story.
Warner has some big damn hands!
And that’s exactly how I became a Rams fan through another football movie, “Heaven Can Wait “ with Warren Beaty. To top it off, Kurts birthday is June 22nd, same as mine.
OMG! I became a Rams fan after watching “Heaven Can Wait” as well.
@@markukrainetz5058 Dude.... we are Rams brothers!! 👌🏻
GREAT REAL LIFE MOVIE.
I think Shailene Woodley looks like younger Brenda in 1999-2001 but I'm sure Anna did a great job.
Lol I hear Zachary and all I hear is Flynn Rider
I just see Chuck.
Me too.
This movie did take a long time to make. I mean, Kurt wasn't actually 40 years old in 98" lol
How did it take so long to make this movie ?
It's all about timing.
Ahahah
Stop with the stupid questions.. a lot is really want to hear what went on. I love his story. It a joke to me
I still think Tom Brady's story is the most unlikely, he didn't even play much football until high school. He got one Division 1 offer. For which his coach had to do an incredible selling job. He was 7th man on the depth chart at Michigan University. He was drafted almost dead last in 2000, and was the fourth stringer at the Patriots. It also took a twist of cruel fate for Drew Bledsoe to give Tom his shot. But that's not the end, he goes on the most improbable run in sports history with 7 Super Bowl wins out 10 tries. Also he still playing at 44, one person I saw on the net said it was virtually impossible for one man to do that, a fraction of one percent chance.
Brady would've played baseball, and he wasn't that far behind starter
He didn't play pee wee, nor in any organized junior leagues. Nor have we heard he played in middle school. So he lost a lot of snaps other players had. Along with coaching on the fundamentals of football. He had to catch up fast.
Wish they made a movie about Nathan Peterman a real American hero
Then February 3, 2002 came and the end..
Wish I had solar panels. Oh ya, Kurt stole 50 million dollars of money meant for solar in Rhode Ilslanders.
When the real life guy is better looking and more charismatic than the actor...
When you completely miss the point and yet choose to share your negative (and incorrect) viewpoint…
When your name is lovely Lori.. but it should be ugly Karen...
