It means a lot to see someone who has had a huge influence on my saxophone playing skills play the 1st Jazz Standard I ever learned! I picked up a saxophone for the first time in 9th grade, and would not set it down until I graduated high school. Though I could barely get a good sound when I started on my tenor, I worked my way up to my school's jazz band and looked up "Bariton Saxophone" on UA-cam one day to find Leo P and the Lucky Chops and Too Many Zooz. Since then, I cannot count how many times I've watched the F-Note EP recording titled "Too Many Zooz best performance, good audio" on UA-cam, whether it was study, fun, or recreation. When I tried to play like you and figure out how to do the squeaks and solo like you did and dance while playing like you did, I grow to respect you so much and admire every last bit of your craft that I could find online, and enjoyed all of it. I guess this is all a really drawn out way of saying "Thank You" for inspiring me to play the saxophone, and that it means a lot to me to see you play the first jazz standard I ever learned in your own style :)
I remember when you were a shiny new penny,....the newest kid on the block,....oh those were the good times. All that fancy footwork and brassy bright sounds. I wish you much continued success.
Jazz really isn't my thing, but I can appreciate someone just nailing it on any instrument, and holy balls on fire, Leo... You've got it. What an animal!
As always. OUTSTANDING. 🎷👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎷 You have always been the full description of a fabulous controled bari sax player with great control and sound. Well done Leo.
So. Me and my wife are browsing and run across some "when you are overqualified" video. Really loved it so did some digging. Glad we found you. Liked and subbed and all that jazz. Now, entertain us! ;)
This video could not have come out at a better time. In my schools lower level jazz band, we’re currently learning this song so in my playlist with all my concert music I put in this cover of it instead of the original. Our concert is tonight.
I just started practicing this song on the alto saxophone.😄 That's a really cool duck!😁 I want to be able to play with a rhythm like this!🤗 From Japan.

I'm using an online tuner (tuner.ninja) to capture the notes so hopefully it wont take too long, its just the guitar that I'm having the most trouble on
@@J-Crash cool...ditch the guitar... most guitarists I've spoken to prefer chords and would never follow a score anyway 🙄 we're playing a lot of the Lucky Chops tunes so this fits perfectly 👍

I know this guy irl and i can state with confidence that this is all true
I played tenor, never touched a bari just because I didn't like the way it looked. I still prefer tenor, but I can't deny that bari has soul.
Thats pretty much my story, only I play clarinet and found leo through looking up "street jazz"

The UA-cam algo's really nailed it with this rec. This dude's pretty incredible. The duck animations are killing me!

Im scoring this song right now, I got the intro part mostly done minus a couple of cymbals.
This sounds like it will be fun to score
hey JC...any chance of you sharing dots for that solo - awesome 🤞😁
@@johnd6378 Yeah, I'm doing the full song, It's the first song I've tried to score without any reference scores so it may take some time.
