Very good review. Even one year later is still very accurate. I love this phone. The downside is the overheating..... It's for sure the hottest phone that I used... (and I just came from a Samsung s10+exynos versión)

I've had this phone for about one month and I absolutely love it! The screen is stunning (and fantastic for media consumption), the camera system is a revelation imho,and the front facing stereo speakers sound great. Also, the design and build quality are top class.
You should put some text while talking about the specs. Sometimes it just helps me to understand and compare with other things while watching; without losing my focus.
I have this Xperia and for me Is simple...iPhone or pixel etc etc takes great pictures, this Phone in auto (photo pro) too...the point Is that i can play a Little with photo pro and i can get better photos than others brands. When you take a photo with a traditional Phone you can't do nothing after the photo if you don't like it, and with this you can do so much... I like the fact that white balance Is perfect (iPhone warm, pixel tend to Blue), i like the texture, no strange proccesing. Just like the photographers like!!!
You earn my respect from the bottom of my heart for such refined and detailed review of the device. I loved the deatils you give like the stereo speaker issue, swipe to launch the regular camera app, etc. UA-cam is filled with reviewers that just read the texts on the packaging and repeat whatever is said in the ads of the phones. Imagine being hungry af and not getting food.. That's me regarding this Xperia 1ii. Since Sony stopped sales here in India, I'm preserving my Xperia XA1 Plus as this will probably be the last Xperia I own but whenever I need to watch something with crisp audio and video I pull out the Xperia for the perfect experience (like watching this video) I cannot express in words how badly I want the Xperia 1ii.
got the Xperia 1 ii. Absolute a beast. Camera is really good. Sound, screen, camera, headphone jack, and 21:9 is really run to watch the movie. This phone is on another level, will buy the Xperia Pro as well. One disappointment that Sony is so stupid that they ditch the Album app.

There are many tech reviewers out here on YT. Many of them are very good and I enjoy their productions. But, of all the ones I follow, you, sir, are the only one that tests and reviews products as a consumer as well as a prosumer. Your testing methods are consistent and you present the information in a VERY entertaining way. And as far as production values goes-- total eye candy! Keep up the great work!
Amazing review, definitely the only reviewer I've seen that's actually used the phone to create content as intended in the pro modes as opposed to other reviewers that just used the auto modes and called it a day. I have this phone as well and as a photographer (and just basic videographer for BTS work on my shoots) as well as a power-user? I can say this is one amazing phone. The only bug that bugs me the most is that you cannot get the full 630 nits brightness in the photo pro app. You probably noticed that the screen dims and then it might not be enough in the sunlight. But if you switch to the regular camera app, then you get the full 630 nits again. Which is just barely enough. Weird huh? I hope Sony fixes this in an update asap Otherwise loving mine.
Your epilogue to this video pretty much sums up what Xperia stands for. But that also fundamentally alienates it from "popular" smartphones. Especially the attention to detail by sony is unmatched.

I guess something people don't mention much is the exterior design of Xperia. I love the way it handles the bevel and the color choices, there's a classical luxury feeling embedded into the surfaces with high-end quality, stands out from the other flagship phones. I treat it like an art piece in my pocket lol

Xperia 1 ii in good hands! Someone who knows what it's for, I'm tired of people using the camera as a regular smartphone, just point and shooting in auto mood and comparing it with other smartphones, since this phone does not compete in that area ,all smartphones now days just try there best on the software to give sharp and bright image with punchy colors, which is not a bad thing for smartphones since not everyone or a normal consumer is a photographer and no one would care about over processing over their shots to be forced with a sharp bright and punchy image, unless he's a photographer, and xperia compeat in that area bing more professional than other brands, even in auto mode the hdr levels and brightness and color saturation is not pushed to limits but keeps the photo natural, since the consumer who wants a xperia device over other brands won't want that over processing causing an artificial image, and I really appreciate that ,sony gives photographers a smartphone that can take the best shots that any smartphone can't ,but normal daily shots are fine
1:28 Those footages you've taken using the Xperia 1 ii look and feel like scenes taken from some high-budget movie. Epic. I have only the Xperia 1 (i) now, but I'll probably upgrade to Xperia 1 iii when it comes out. I feel like the first-gen Xperia 1 can last 2+ years more as my main phone and 5+ years more as a back-up phone.
I was super impressed to find out someone that actually shot photos on the Pro apps, and use it correctly. I am not photography enthusiast but it is a lot of fun to play with the controls the pro app gives you. Very nice job sir. And just to point out if you use battery care feature battery last a little longer in a day to day usage. (watching from my fantastic Xperia 1 ii) 😍 and loving it

Just the person I wanted to review this phone. As always, beautiful. There are not many UA-camrs with such great cinematography and in-depth reviews. Thank you.
It takes 0.2 sec to destroy the phone. Had the first gen and it fell once and it was gone. My Huawei P20 Pro fell a couple of times hard and nothing. Specs is not everything :-) And by the way, can we appreciate Faruks editing a bit more. This is better than 99.8% of any tech reviewers on the net.
Thinking of jumping on the Xperia 5II + WH-1000MX3 bundle because it's a great offer as well as that the phone complements nicely my A7III + A5100, I know those app menus and settings. _But_ , the overheating issue is.. an issue now, didn't know about that. My idea was to use this phone as a third and wide angle camera on a tripod during interviews, and these can be an hour long, sometimes longer. There's a gaming feature in this phone when you connect the charger and disable the charging, you just "use" it. I believe this was meant for exactly overheating while gaming. I hope it can help while filming long sequences as I'm planning to do.
I bought the Xperia 1II for 2 reasons. 1 I want to get into photography, and this phone is the king of manual photos, no manipulations, RAW photos. 2 the screen. I mean seriously. When I first get this phone. I stoped using my TV for 2 weeks. And now rarely uses my TV for videos. 4K, OLed, HDR. I don't the money for such a TV. Yet. But I needed a new phone anyway. And the build quality of Sony phones. It should laste around 3 years. Both in term of build quality and phone quality.
The review was a joy to watch but gotta say your voice doesn't align with the video so maybe you could tune it to suit the video.I can't pinpoint the exact reason but it felt off. With that out of the way I have a couple of suggestion to make this review format even better 1.Background Music: MrMobile does this so you should try this. The only real problem is in selecting genres of music although instrumental music will help. It would be even better if music changes throughout the topics.This is a hassle so ignore it if you feel like it. 2.Include outdoor moving footage.Helps to have refreshing scenery. It could be distracting but if you can make the footage relevant to the topic and simultaneously enhance the experience. 3.You did talk about audio let's face it ,features wise its the next best after v60 so a bit more length would be appreciated. 4.You oitted the ui,dynamic vibration,super slo mo,and such. 5.Maybe use infographics while talking about audio,screen and camera. I mean people are obsessed with speed tests,battery drain and benchmarks but nobody bats an eye about the above things.

Xperia 1 ii in good hands! Someone who knows what it's for, I'm tired of people using the camera as a regular smartphone, just point and shooting in auto mood and comparing it with other smartphones, since this phone does not compete in that area ,all smartphones now days just try there best on the software to give sharp and bright image with punchy colors, which is not a bad thing for smartphones since not everyone or a normal consumer is a photographer and no one would care about over processing over their shots to be forced with a sharp bright and punchy image, unless he's a photographer, and xperia compeat in that area bing more professional than other brands, even in auto mode the hdr levels and brightness and color saturation is not pushed to limits but keeps the photo natural, since the consumer who wants a xperia device over other brands won't want that over processing causing an artificial image, and I really appreciate that ,sony gives photographers a smartphone that can take the best shots that any smartphone can't ,but normal daily shots are fine

1:28 Those footages you've taken using the Xperia 1 ii look and feel like scenes taken from some high-budget movie. Epic. I have only the Xperia 1 (i) now, but I'll probably upgrade to Xperia 1 iii when it comes out. I feel like the first-gen Xperia 1 can last 2+ years more as my main phone and 5+ years more as a back-up phone.
I was super impressed to find out someone that actually shot photos on the Pro apps, and use it correctly. I am not photography enthusiast but it is a lot of fun to play with the controls the pro app gives you.

It takes 0.2 sec to destroy the phone. Had the first gen and it fell once and it was gone. My Huawei P20 Pro fell a couple of times hard and nothing. Specs is not everything :-) And by the way, can we appreciate Faruks editing a bit more. This is better than 99.8% of any tech reviewers on the net.
Thinking of jumping on the Xperia 5II + WH-1000MX3 bundle because it's a great offer as well as that the phone complements nicely my A7III + A5100, I know those app menus and settings. _But_ , the overheating issue is.. an issue now, didn't know about that. My idea was to use this phone as a third and wide angle camera on a tripod during interviews, and these can be an hour long, sometimes longer. There's a gaming feature in this phone when you connect the charger and disable the charging, you just "use" it. I believe this was meant for exactly overheating while gaming. I hope it can help while filming long sequences as I'm planning to do.

I bought the Xperia 1II for 2 reasons.
1 I want to get into photography, and this phone is the king of manual photos, no manipulations, RAW photos.
2 the screen. I mean seriously. When I first get this phone. I stoped using my TV for 2 weeks. And now rarely uses my TV for videos.
4K, OLed, HDR. I don't the money for such a TV. Yet.
But I needed a new phone anyway.
And the build quality of Sony phones. It should laste around 3 years. Both in term of build quality and phone quality.

The review was a joy to watch but gotta say your voice doesn't align with the video so maybe you could tune it to suit the video.I can't pinpoint the exact reason but it felt off.
With that out of the way I have a couple of suggestion to make this review format even better
1.Background Music: MrMobile does this so you should try this.
The only real problem is in selecting genres of music although instrumental music will help.
It would be even better if music changes throughout the topics.This is a hassle so ignore it if you feel like it.
2.Include outdoor moving footage.Helps to have refreshing scenery. It could be distracting but if you can make the footage relevant to the topic and simultaneously enhance the experience.
3.You did talk about audio let's face it ,features wise its the next best after v60 so a bit more length would be appreciated.
4.You oitted the ui,dynamic vibration,super slo mo,and such.
5.Maybe use infographics while talking about audio,screen and camera.
I mean people are obsessed with speed tests,battery drain and benchmarks but nobody bats an eye about the above things.
