I've been of Shantanu ever since his Dil Dost Dance days. He's amazing at portraying the tiniest of emotion with his eyes. I was so happy to see him star alongside one of the biggest names in Bollywood. He did a great job!

Shantanu did a great job in his debut like nailed it.
It's amazing how Bhansali always matches rhythm of the song with visuals throughout the song... Best example is at around 1:22, when that man hits Shantanu on exact beat , and also Alia's little nod at around 2:36 - on exact beat - which is no coincidence, Bhansali deliberately wanted those to happen on that exact time. It's just crazy how Bhansali puts attention to even the tiniest detail! I'm a Sri Lankan fan of Bhansali sir since I was a child - I was mesmerized by attention to detail in Devdas, and to this day - Bhansali never failed to amaze me. Would love to learn filmmaking from this great personality - that would be a dream come true :)

Who can ever narrate a love story without dialogue and just expressions alone? I would say only a tasteful director like mr Sanjay Leela bansali and a method actress alia bhatt can do it. It’s a beautiful zig Zaw puzzle pieces (mr bansali direction+alia bhatt+shreya ghoshal magical voice+bansali music put together to give us a great pieces of artistic love story.
Not forgetting the debut shantanu was used well for this scene and movie. Love love everything about this song and movie. I can’t replace alia bhatt with anyone for this
It really brought back a moment in time where silent movies conveyed the stories with no spoken dialogues. Only acting. This scene was so well done!

I have watched this movie and performances by all are worthy to write about. Alia Bhatt gives a glimpse of the depth of her acting skills. Her acting chops are worthy of National Award. I hope she is recognized for her endeavour. She expressed a gamut of emotions that left you feeling very connected to the plight of women then and now. This is a movie to watch again and Praises goes to Mr. Bhansali for his vision.
